The Trailer Of Netflixs Death Note Is Out andamp Willem Defoe Is The Only Thing That Saved It

If you are a thriller and horror movie addict, geographical boundaries don’t seem to be a hindrance when it comes to watching some really good films or drama series. It is our love for international horror movies, shows and comics that led us to one of the most brilliant animes of all time – ‘Death Note’. We are sure that by now you must have binge-watched the original Japanese series multiple times. The story focuses on a high school student, who discovers a ‘Death Note’, a supernatural book that can kill anyone whose name is written on it. Another intriguing character was Ryuk, a Shinigami or grim reaper. The creepy vibe that he brought to the show stole the whole damn thing.

The original series has been critically acclaimed across the world and we have already seen several adaptations in the past years. Now, Netflix has jumped on the bandwagon and has released its first teaser for the live-action adaptation of ‘Death Note’. Excited? Well, we too are sitting on the edge of our seats, wondering if this version is as gripping as the ones made before. Now, while the trailer has failed to capture every fan’s attention – the fact that actor Willem Dafoe will play Ryuk – is being unanimously considered as the best thing so far.

This movie is being directed by Adam Wingard who has also mad kickass films like ‘The Guest’ and ‘You’re Next’ and the story shifts its base from Tokyo to Seattle. Just like you folks, we too are super kicked about this revamped version that will premiere of Netflix on August 25. So, peeps, “Shall We Begin?” our wait to see Dafoe in action? Apart from the fact that they should have gotten an Asian-Japanese actor to play the role, this looks like it might just be the one anime adaptation that makes it big in the West.
