The best things are often found in the weirdest of places. I'm not sure if that's a saying, but it certainly should be. At least when it comes to this 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for sure. The Mustang was rotting away somewhere in Iowa before finding its way to eBay.

If you were to walk past this car it wouldn't warrant a second glance. But, if you knew how much it could be worth, you'd definitely stop and stare for a minute. Not to admire its beauty, but just to wonder how this piece of junk could be worth anything at all.

The car was listed for auction at a starting price of $3,000 but as time went by and people got to know how rare a car it is, the bids started rising rapidly. The car received a total of 48 bids with the winning bid being $10,900. But considering the car could be worth much more, $10,000 is a throw away price. Yeah, $10,000 for this rust bucket.

It turns out the car is a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pack. At least, that's what it used to be. The important thing to remember is it still has its registration. Here's what it could look like if it weren't rusting in the middle of nowhere.

Turns out the car is one of just twenty-three Mustangs that were built in 1970 without the Ram-Air. What's more, it was originally a Lime Green car. The only one. That's why, in good condition, the car would easily fetch in excess of $100,000. Who would know that this shell could be worth so much?

All we want to do right now is head to some junkyards around town and look for an old car that could be worth lakhs. The chances of finding one are very low and we might not even know if something is worth lakhs even if we were standing in front of it but we'd still try. After all, who would believe this piece of junk is worth more than $100,000?
