Gordon Ramsay Offers Teen Dwarf A Job After He Was Chucked Out Of Cooking Course For His Height

Being discriminated against because of any reason is one of the worst things ever. It becomes even more infuriating when that discrimination comes in the way of someone following their dreams and that kind of stuff can mess with anyone.

Something like this happened to 18-year-old Louis Makepeace, who has dwarfism. He's a 3ft 10in tall chef who has been refused a place at Heart of Worcestershire College, where he was first accepted on a conditional basis.

He claims college bosses branded him a “health and safety risk” to the other 14 pupils and would cause a “disruption” if he got under their feet. Wow, that's just downright disgusting. Imagine taking away someone's opportunity and also crushing them at the same time!

He said, “We are supposed to have equality of opportunity, yet I'm not allowed to do something I love doing. They said I would be a health and safety risk and disruption to the other students and get in their way, which was really humiliating. It really has dented my confidence. How am I ever supposed to get the culinary skills that's going to get me a job in a catering environment?”

We all know and love Gordon Ramsay as the hilariously brutal food critic on Twitter, but today one his tweets stood apart as being an incredible gesture. Someone brought Louis' story to his attention and he had the best response.

Here's what he replied.

Disgusting attitude, I'd offer him an Apprenticeship any day. https://t.co/xYdfWJ7CLK

I agree, this is a disgusting attitude and I really do hope Gordon follows up with his offer and make someone's life.

A lot of people in the replies urged him to come through and follow up.

Call him gordon x

Everyone deserves a chance.

Do it!  He will make a great chef, and will be a fantastic apprentice simply because he has the passion to do it.

I really hope you give this young man a chance, and learning from you he could have a stellar career ahead of him.

The best!

Gordon Ramsay you are absolutely the best ð

Someone came out with the receipts.

Also just to add to my tweet I have seen the kitchen classrooms at Worcester campus  one of the classrooms has its own sections/workstations with everything you need to cook, counters/sink/stove  they could put him in his own workstation out of the way very easily, no excuse.

Louis' mom said that the course leaders claimed it wouldn't make sense for her son to do the course since he would “never be allowed to work in a restaurant anyway”.

She added, “This just goes to prove they are wrong if Gordon Ramsay is coming out in support. Louis is a huge fan of his and we would be very interested in speaking to his people if he is serious about it. It has made his day just getting his backing.”

Well, hopefully everything works out for Louis.
