In the age of Twenty20 (T20) cricket, the fans have been exposed to numerous leagues across the globe that thrive on franchise-based tournaments. Australia gave us the Big Bash League (BBL). India has produced Indian Premier League (IPL). And Pakistan isn't far behind with their very own Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The idea of a franchise-based T20 tournament where cricketers from around the globe are seen donning local shirts continues to entice cricket fans. And, if the slambang cricketing action isn't enough, the whole jazz around these T20 leagues adds to the entertainment which is why we often see prominent celebrities performing at the tournament's opening ceremonies.
The year 2019 is proving to be no different. As the fourth edition of the PSL gets kicking from 14th February, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appears to be leaving no stone unturned in a bid to make the opening ceremony a massive success. Turning up the star quotient, the PCB has invited American rap artist Pitbull to perform at the opening ceremony.
The Florida based singer @pitbull a.k.a Mr. Worldwide is excited to be part of the #HBLPSL, here is what he has to say! #KhelDeewanoKa

As soon as the news broke on the social media, cricket fans expressed their views on PCB's move for Pitbull. While some were excited to see the Florida-based artist perform at the opening ceremony, others questioned the PCB for splurging money on Pitbull rather than using local talent.
