Your Entire Arm Can Now Turn Into A Smart Watch Track Pad Thanks To The Folks At Carnegie Mellon University

Smart watches are a smart thing in the world of wearable technology. Since big screens are the norm these days, some researchers at Carnegie Mellon University thought of applying ‘the bigger the better’ rule to smart watches as well. The Future Interface Group(FIG), a part of the research team at the university has been trying to solve the problem related to smart watches:  big, chunky watch but small screen.  Now your entire arm can turn into a track pad for your smart watch.  It will have 4 sensors, out of which two would be vertically placed along the watch.

There are ‘special shortcuts’ that also allow you to drop and drag icons from your watch directly to your arm!

The track pad can sense a finger hovering over the track pad. How cool is that?

This video shows you exactly how the smart phone will work and it’s super interesting. Looks like the future is closer than ever!
