In another exciting news, the Sardar Vallabhai Patel statue in Gujarat also called the Statue of Unity has now made it to the Shangai Cooperation Organisation's '8 Wonders of SCO' list.

Taking to Twitter, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar recently wrote, “Appreciated the #SCO's efforts to promote tourism among member states. The “8 Wonders of SCO”, which includes the #StatueofUnity , will surely serve as an inspiration.”

He also wrote, “Received Secretary General #ShanghaiCooperationOrganization Vladimir Norov. Reviewed the progress in our cooperation as India prepares to take up the responsibility of chairing the Council of #SCO Heads of Government.”

The statue is the world's tallest statue and is around 597 feet tall. According to wikipedia, it rises 54 metres (177 ft) higher than the previous record holder, the Spring Temple Buddha in China's Henan province.

It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018 on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 143rd birth anniversary.

Also, the statue was built for Rs 3000 crore and has now become one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country.
