Saurav Ganguly is arguably one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket teamâs history. Recently, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has requested the current BCCI President to be the Goodwill Ambassador of Team India for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
According to IANS, IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta wrote to Ganguly asking him to be at the games which will be held in Tokyo from July 24 to August 9.

"You are an inspiration for a billion people, especially the youth. As an administrator you have always nurtured young talent. We are hopeful that your association with Team India to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 would be a boost for our young athletes and a privilege for the Olympic movement in India," he added.
