Sikhs In UK & Australia Are Delivering Food To People In Isolation Amidst Coronavirus Outbreak

The United Kingdom is the latest European country trying extremely hard to control the Coronavirus outbreak with London being an extremely crowded city, plus also having one of the busiest airports in the world.

While the travel ban might somehow help in solving the issue of new cases popping up, the widespread reach of the virus in the country has already forced millions into self-quarantine, including the elderly, who are more prone to be plagued by Coronavirus than the younger generation.

Many people have already fled the country to return to their families but a large group of Sikh volunteers are doing the impossible.

They have now started a food delivery service (free of charge, obviously,) for people, majorly the elderly, who are in self-isolation and cannot step out to get themselves a simple meal.

Following the philanthropic steps of their fellow brethren in the UK, Sikh volunteers in Australia  have also taken this initiative around Melbourne area and are delivery food to anyone who needs it.

Sikh volunteers announced that they would be delivering free food to self-isolated people in Melbourne's south-east for the next two weeks.

This selfless service and initiative by the community in both countries is being lauded on the internet, as people are getting inspired to do their bit as well in this time of despair.

Fortunate enough to take a cultural anthropology class from a Prof. that focused his academic career on the Sikh culture.

Amazing people with a true warrior spirit encompassing every positive attribute of what Warrior means.

Every Singh I've known made me strive to be better

The Sikh community has time and again led by example, showing how humanity is a bigger religion than anything in the world.

The concept of Sewa and Langar is synonymous with the principles of the community which preaches philanthropy with a full heart and motivates others to do the same.  In the end, we are all we have after all.
