Arguably one of the biggest and most popular Twenty20 (T20) tournaments in the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL), on the back of slambang cricketing action has a tendency of enticing fans like no other. 

Bringing some of the biggest names in international cricket to the fore, India's cash-rich tournament remains a highly sought-after affair in the sport.

The thirteenth edition of the IPL was expected to garner a similar response if it kickstarted as per its schedule from 29th March. But, sadly, it wasn't meant to be. 

Thanks to novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the much-anticipated edition of the IPL was, first, postponed till 14th April and, then, suspended indefinitely amid the lockdown protocols in India.

While the official announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did leave the cricket fans in a state of mourning, the news of IPL's indefinite suspension was further used as an opportunity by trolls to humiliate Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for their poor record in the tournament's history.
