Tricolour Projected On Switzerland�s Matterhorn Makes Indians Scream �Mera Bharat Mahaan�


Amid the Coronavirus pandemic the whole world is suffering and unity is the only ray of hope for people to sail through this time.  Recently, the Indian flag was projected onto the might Matterhorn Mountain in the Swiss Alps to spread hope and express solidarity to India during these tough times.

The breathtaking light illumination series is a part of renowned Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetterâs effort to send a message of hope. He has been lighting up the 14,690 feet high mountain with displays of different country flags and messages to inspire people as the face the deadly virus that has engraved fear amongst all of us.

On Friday night, the tricolour was the latest illumination onto the almighty Matterhorn Mountain.

Zermatt Tourismâs official Twitter account posted a picture of the tricolour projection saying, âThe Indian flag on the Matterhorn, Switzerland's landmark, is intended to express our solidarity and give hope and strength to all Indians.â

Before India, flags of Switzerland, United States, UK, Italy and the Swiss region of Tcino were also beamed onto the beautiful mountain.

According to News18, Hotsteffer said, âMatterhorn stands out like a lighthouse, which triggered the idea of beaming out messages.â He added, "Light is hope. So if you do a message with light in such a situation as we are in now, you give that hope -- especially with this iconic, standalone, pyramid-shaped, incredibly strong mountain.â The message is well-received by the Indians and the internet is now flooded with gratitude comments and re-tweets.

Around the world more than 2 million people have been infected and the virus has claimed the lives around 1,50,000 people, so far. In such tough times, it is paramount to unite and fight together against the deadly virus.
