Before we could order our favourite delicacies from India’s largest online restaurant guide today, we got the shock of our lives when we came to know that Zomato has been hacked. It further sent chills down our spine when it was reported that nearly 17 million user records from the database were stolen. This one particular piece of information sent shockwaves to several categories of people – pseudo vegetarians, those who eat chicken only on selected days, those who eat non-veg outside their homes, those who claim to be on a diet but actually order double-chocolate brownies with choco chip cookies and many more.    

While the world was stressing over WannaCry, the malicious ransomware, India was losing its sh*t over the stolen database and the fact that they won’t be able to order online for some time. Honestly, we feel that the hackers behind this were possibly threatened by their mothers for not eating ghar ka khana. So struck by revenge, they hacked the entire site to ensure that no one gets to order food online. 

Anyway, it’s for the Zomato authorities and cyber security team to figure out this issue, but Twitter being the savage platform it is, did what it’s best at – taking full advantage of the situation and leaving the internet in splits.
