Google?s latest venture Google Lens seems to make the technology giant?s vision for future a little clearer.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai introduced the venture during Google?s developer conference, which wrapped up on Friday.

"All of Google was built because we started understanding text and web pages. So the fact that computers can understand images and videos has profound implications for our core mission," he said while speaking about Lens.

The technology basically turns the camera from a passive tool that?s capturing the world around you to one that?s allowing you to interact with what?s in your camera?s viewfinder.

A few of the features of the Lens include:

1) Telling species of a flower by viewing the flowers through camera lens

2) Read a WiFi password through the camera

3) Offering information pertaining to restaurants by viewing them through the camera

The feature is being added to Google Photos and personalised artificial intelligence software assistant. The technology will also help with translation purposes.
