Wasim Jaffer's 'GOAT' Poetry For Kane Williamson Perfectly Sums Up The Kiwi's Genius

In the ever-competitive world of cricket, while others are busy playing aggressively to assert their domination, Kane Williamson remains one of the rare breeds still dedicated to upholding the spirit of the game.

Part of the famed 'Fab Four' group in international cricket, Williamson has carved his own niche as one of the true gentlemen of the game.

While his humility and gentleman-like demeanour has made him a fan-favourite, Williamson's graceful batting has given New Zealand a prolific batsman they're going to cherish for years to come.

The latest exhibition of his artistry with the willow came in the 1st Test against West Indies in Hamilton.

His last double also came in Hamilton, back in 2019.

The 30-year-old brought up his third double hundred in the longest format as he slammed Kemar Roach for an exquisite boundary on Day 2. The right-hander went on to score a career-best 251 before getting dismissed by Alzarri Joseph.

Thanks to his brilliant innings, New Zealand romped to a mammoth total of 519 runs in the first innings.

In an innings that was derived on the back of concentration, technique and application, Williamson faced 369 deliveries and batted for 554 minutes which, in turn, saw him earning praise from some of the best in the business.

West Indies great Ian Bishop couldn't help but Tweet: "The technical skill of Kane Williamson’s batting is other-worldly".

On the other hand, India's very own Test superstar Wasim Jaffer, too, appeared to be mighty impressed by Williamson's knock as he penned a beautiful poem for the New Zealand skipper.

"Pitch was green enough. For goats to graze. A GOAT did come. And boy did it grace!," Jaffer tweeted.

Apart from his double ton, Williamson was also part of four key partnerships for New Zealand in the first innings. He stitched a 154-run partnership for the second wicket with Tom Latham (86).

Then, he went on to add 83 runs for the third wicket with Ross Taylor (38). A 72-run stand for the fifth wicket came alongside Tom Blundell (14). And, finally a 94-run partnership with Kyle Jamieson (51).
