Many people believe in giving away more to the needy and are grateful for what they have. Recently, MacKenzie Scott, philanthropist and former wife of Jeff Bezos, announced that she has given $4.1 billion in the past four months to hundreds of organizations.

MacKenzie had announced her pandemic-era philanthropy and said, “a wrecking ball in the lives of Americans already struggling,” and also said that it has been worse for women, people of color and those who are living in poverty. She also wrote that the billionaires are getting richer.

Last July, Scott donated $1.68 billion to 116 non-profits, universities, community development groups, and legal organizations. This year she took help from a team of advisers to accelerate 2020's philanthropy work to aid those financially gutted by the pandemic.

She said, "the team used a data-driven approach, identifying organizations with strong leadership and results, specifically in communities with high food insecurity, racial inequity and poverty rates, and low access to philanthropic capital.”

Even after giving so much to the people, she said she is far from completing her giving pledge and also urged the people to follow in her footsteps and help others as much as they can.
