Make Alcohol A Secret Weapon To Achieve Good Health: Benefits Of Drinking Booze In Moderation

You’ve heard enough about the perils of binge boozing. It’s clearly a downer for your health and attitude. In fact, too much of anything is. If you still like to enjoy a drink or two every once in a while, you might as well do it right!

Some studies have shown that drinking occasionlly can be good for your health.

As long as you keep your imbibing under control and sip in moderation, you’ll be able to notice these benefits of alcohol.

This, in no way, is a green signal to chug pints of beer or taste-test every cocktail on the menu. But if you’re an admirer of liqueur, it’s good to know that you can sit with your friends and enjoy a drink or two for the sake of your health.

So, which one is your favourite?

How Much Is Too Much?

Moderate drinking is defined as one standard drink per day for women and two for men.

The official quantity of a standard drink is different in different countries. In India, a standard drink constitutes 10 ml of absolute alcohol in the beverage.

Depending on the ABV (alcohol-by-volume) percentage of each drink, the quantity of a standard drink for different alcoholic beverages can vary:

Regular beer

ABV = 4.9%

Standard amount = 285 ml

Wine

ABV = 13%

Standard amount = 100 ml

Liqueur

ABV = 40%

Standard amount = 30 ml

The Bottomline

Binge drinking or alcohol abuse can wreak havoc on your physical and mental health. So if you truly enjoy the warmth of alcohol and choose to drink it, do so in moderation for good health.
