WhatsApp has started sending a pop-up to users since last night that forces users to either accept its new terms of services or have their account deleted permanently. The notification was sent late last night to both Android and iOS users where it mentions how the company processes user data. It also talked about how the Facebook-owned service stores and manage WhatsApp chats and works with the social media giant. The new terms of services offer integrations with Facebook and will come into effect on February 8th 2021.

Thanks to the instant messaging app introducing payments on the platform, there is now a new section on ‘Transactions And Payments Data.’ The new terms said, “If you use our payments services, or use our Services meant for purchases or other financial transactions, we process additional information about you, including payment account and transaction information. Payment account and transaction information include information needed to complete the transaction. If you use our payments services available in your country or territory, our privacy practices are described in the applicable payments privacy policy.”
