The civil servants in our country enjoy a position of pivotal power that puts them on a high pedestal. Unfortunately, some of them are also infamous for abusing their power. But with great power comes greater responsibility and one such civil servant roved that for us. G Sreekanth, the collector of Akola district in Maharashtra just set a beautiful example of humility. On the last working day of his chauffeur Digambar Thak, the collector drove him to work himself, in his decorated car.

Digambar Thak retired after 35 years, serving almost 18 collectors in his duty span. G Sreekanth gave him the farewell and the respect that the hard working man deserved.  If only our country had more thoughtful men like G Sreekanth, this nation would be in safe and responsible hands.
