PM orders power utilities to stop load-shedding during Sehr, Iftar

ISLAMABAD: The prime minister has issued a notice to power utilities to not cut electric supply during Sehr and Iftar.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of the energy committee on Monday and has come at a time when protests against power outages have reached their peak.
One person was killed during firing in one of such protests in Dargai area of Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while in Peshawar protesters blocked Ring Road for hours to demonstrate against long hours of power cut.
On the other hand, in Karachi, a hearing was held in the Sindh High Court where K-Electric officials were asked what measures they have taken to reduce the duration of outages that has disrupted daily life of citizens.
