    Rishabh Pant’s Incredible Gesture For Uttarakhand Disaster Victims Wins Hearts Everywhere


    On Sunday, the nation was absolutely stunned by the disaster that took place in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand when a massive flood caused severe destruction in the region following a glacier breach near Joshimath.

    With more than 170 people reportedly missing and as many as 10 dead bodies being recovered since yesterday morning, the tragedy is quickly gaining a lot of support and attention from the rest of the country.

    The wicket-keeping batsman of the Indian cricket team, Rishabh Pant, who is currently in Chennai for the four match Test-series against the visiting England side also expressed his sorrow towards the incident and expressed his wish to contribute towards the cause.

    Giving up the entirety of his fees for playing the first Test against Joe Root’s men at the Chepauk Stadium, the 23-year old hitter has also urged others to step up and help the victims stand back on their feet once again.

    While the rescue operation continues to be under process, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Rs. 2 lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin for all those who lost their lives and a Rs. 50,000 compensation for the seriously injured.
