Following the raid by the Income Tax Department earlier this week on her property, Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has broken her silence on the matter by taking to Twitter to issue a string of counter-allegations.
While addressing the charges against her, she even seems to have taken a swing directly at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
In her first Tweet, she addressed the matter of her ‘Paris bungalow’:
3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily
1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner
Her second Tweet basically denied the charges of her of having a receipt worth Rs 5 crores:
2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before
— taapsee pannu (@taapsee) March 6, 2021And her final Tweet was a direct shot at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who said that a similar raid had been conducted in 2013:
3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister 🏼
P.S- “not so sasti” anymore 🏻♀️
With a cheeky postscript, she ended her series of Tweets saying, “not so sasti anymore,” which seems to be a response to a particular comment made by Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel. In a reply to Taapsee's Tweets, Kangana shot back with a strongly-worded post.
You will always remain sasti because you are sab rapists ka feminist... your ring master Kashyap was raided in 2013 as well for tax chori... government official’s report is out if you aren’t guilty go to court against them come clean on this ... come on sasti
— Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) March 6, 2021Taapsee’s response comes three days after the IT raids on her and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap over alleged tax evasion. According to reports, both were reportedly by officials in Pune and the searches took place across 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune.

The raids were also conducted on Kashyap’s partners who launched the now-shuttered production house, Phantom Films.
When Nirmala Sitharaman was asked to comment on the raids, she spoke of how the ‘2013 raids’ were not an issue and how suddenly, they seem to have become one now.

"First of all, I am not commenting on any A or B individual. (But) since the names were taken, (I want to say) the very same names were raided in 2013. It wasn’t an issue (in 2013). It’s an issue now,” the Finance Minister said in a media interaction.
Earlier on Thursday, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) revealed in a statement that they have found tax implications of about Rs 350 crore, adding that further investigation is underway.
