In another episode of  'this happens only in India', a woman from West Bengal changed her name to something that triggered a series of queries on social media and also reminded us of one of our favorite scenes from the TV show FRIENDS. 

A woman published an advertisement in the newspaper informing the change of her name from Anamika Mazumder to ‘Supreme Imperium’ and this move has many people on the internet questioning her choices. 

People are confused and worried as to why she chose an uncommon name and are trying to make sense of it.

The affidavit said, “The woman, a resident of Bararankua village under Ramnagar police station in the East Midnapore district posted the affidavit saying from March 1, she would be known by her new name of ‘Supreme Imperium’.”

A part of the advertisement in the newspaper read as, “Henceforth, I recognized and known as Supreme Imperium instead of Anamika Mazumder.” Her unusual name choice has now made the advertisement go viral on the internet.
