Rishabh Pant’s rumoured girlfriend Isha Negi, who is reportedly an interior decor designer, also enjoys a massive fan following on social media. 

On Saturday, the 22-year old got into an interactive session with her followers on the platform and replied to various questions.

One question, however, that caught the attention of the fans of the Indian cricket team was about her favourite player in the world. 

And while many had expected Negi to take Rishabh Pant’s name, she picked the former Team India captain and now-retired Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Interestingly, in the past, even Pant has talked about his fondness for Dhoni. 

“He [MS Dhoni] has been like a mentor to me, on and off the field. I can approach him freely with any problem I may be facing, and he will never give me the entire solution for it,” Pant had said in an Instagram Live session ahead of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League.

“This is so that I don’t become entirely dependent on him, he gives me hints only that helps me solve the issue myself. He’s also one of my favourite batting partners, though it’s not something that happens too often. If Mahi [Dhoni] bhai is at the crease, you know things are sorted. He’s got a plan in his head, and all you need to do is follow it,” he’d added.

The 23-year old was recently crowned as the captain of the Delhi Capitals franchise ahead of the 14th edition of the IPL after Shreyas Iyer, the original captain of the squad suffered a severe shoulder injury while fielding in the first ODI against England at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium and was ruled out for the entire 2021 season of the tournament.

Coincidentally, Pant will be going head-to-head with his and his rumoured girlfriend’s favourite player in the second match of IPL 2021 when Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will look to get a winning start to the season against Pant’s Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 10 (Saturday).
