Now, while we fans don't really mind having two different films about these super-power heroes, the fact remains that Spider-Man and Venom are both vital cogs of the Spider-Man universe, and seeing them not come up against each other is something we still cannot fathom.

Well, what if that were to change? It'd be quite amazing, right? In a new development that will certainly excite fans of the franchise, Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group President, Sanford Panitch, has hinted at the possibility of the two heroes sharing the same universe in the movies as well.

Stating that the studio does have a long-term plan for Spider-Man in the future, Panitch said that things will start becoming clearer after the release of the Spider-Man 3 film. "There actually is a plan. I think now maybe it’s getting a little more clear for people where we’re headed and I think when No Way Home comes out, even more will be revealed," said Panitch, while speaking with Variety.

Fans have been left confused over what the future holds for Spider-Man with Sony and Marvel Studios both still undecided on what's to come. As per reports, it is the understanding of Sony that fans currently view the Venom franchise differently from the Spider-Man franchise, however, according to Panitch, fans won't be asking questions about Spider-Man when Venom 2 hits the theatres.

"We don’t really think of our 900 characters as the Spider-verse. We have a Marvel universe. The volume of characters we have — you know, wait until you see this next Venom. You don’t miss Spider-Man." said Panitch.

Now, with the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film rumored to bring in some old faces like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man as well Andrew Garfield's, there is a big chance of Marvel Studios and Sony actually beginning to conjure up a reality that we thought only lived in our dreams. Well, We sure cannot wait!
