‘Modi Ji, Tussi Great Ho’: With CBSE 12th Board Exams Cancelled, Students Fill Twitter With Memes


Amid the pandemic, several things came to a standstill. Even schools were shut and it's been more than a year since students started taking online classes. 

Recently, on 1st June 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a meeting, took the decision to cancel the CBSE Board exams for Class XIIth. 

This comes after the second wave of Covid-19 in India.

While making the announcement, PM Modi also spoke about how the health of the students is of utmost importance right now. 

He took to Twitter and mentioned, "Health and safety of our students are of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect." He also added students shouldn't be put under such stress in this given scenario and asked the stakeholders to 'show sensitivity for students'

The PM called the decision 'student-friendly' and mentioned safeguarding the future of the youth. He took the decision in a high-level meeting where all the possibilities were explored for Class 12th students.

Clearly, most students are more than relieved after the cancellation of the exams.  

As many as 14 Lakh students had registered for the CBSE exam. The final decision was awaited since mid-April after the exams were postponed, amid the rising cases.

Even the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) mentioned that there will be alternative assessment criteria and the exams for Class 12th examinations would be cancelled.
