In another episode of ‘this happens only in India,’ an FIR has been registered against a bride who indulged in celebratory firing during her marriage function in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh.

According to the superintendent of Police Ashok Tomar, Rupa Pandey fired rounds into the air from a licensed revolver which belonged to her uncle before going on stage for ‘jai maala’.

The video of the incident has now gone viral on social media and the police has lodged an FIR against the woman under the relevant section of IPC, the Arms Act, and the Epidemic act.

The police said they have also initiated proceedings to cancel the license of the revolver used in the firing. 

Earlier, in another incident reported in Nagpur, police arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly cutting cakes with a sword as part of his birthday celebrations.

Nikhil Patel celebrated his birthday on October 21. In the week hours of the day, he and his friends brought four large cakes to celebrate, and then Patel took a sword and cut all the cake in front of his friends with a sword.
