Today was a very special day for OnePlus fans as the company revealed their latest smartphone to the world, the OnePlus 5. Right off the bat, the company started with the specs that are on board the flagship killer and they look mighty impressive. 

The OnePlus 5 has a 1080X1920 pixel AMOLED Screen and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. Carl Pei, after revealing the full specs, said that this was the boring part about the phone as the smartphone had much more to offer. The smartphone has two storage options i.e. 64/128 GB internal storage with 6/8 GB of RAM. For more specs about the smartphone, you can have a look at the full image below.

The smartphone will come in two colour variants i.e. Midnight Black and Slate Grey, which look very similar due to the shading of the two colours. The front-facing camera has a 16-MP sensor and the company promises higher quality selfies when compared to their previous devices. For the rear camera, OnePlus has introduced a dual camera setup which has similar capabilities to the iPhone 7 Plus as the company introduced their own “Portrait Mode”. The two sensors are 16-MP and 20-MP with f/1.7 and f/2.6 apertures, respectively.

There have been tweaks when it comes to the native operating system i.e. Oxygen OS. The smartphone can now take expanded screenshots allowing users to take screenshots of long web pages and objects that don't fit the entire screen. In addition, the OnePlus 5 also has an ambient sensor which automatically detects and changes the warmth of the screen for better readability.

The OnePlus 5 will retail in the United States for $479 (roughly INR 30,800) and the company did not clarify prices for specific models but we can assume this price is for the 64GB variant. The company will be hosting various pop-up events around the world. These events will be taking place in places where the OnePlus 5 will be available to purchase offline, in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Berlin, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai over the next few days. The OnePlus 5 will be announced for India at the launch event in Mumbai on 22nd June and according to price leaks, the OnePlus 5 will cost INR 32,999 (6GB Variant) and INR 37,999 (8GB Variant)
