I think we can all agree that summers suck. It's too hot, too humid to even survive.
To beat the heat and protest the school policy that doesn't allow boys to wear shorts, male students of Isca Academy in Exeter wore skirts to school. They borrowed the skirts from their fellow female students, and some even went the extra mile and shaved their legs.

Some of the students even appeared and talked about the protest on a livestream by βDevon Live', where one student claimed that he was told off for wearing shorts because his "legs are hairy".
The incident happened yesterday, which was recorded to be the hottest June day in 41 years, with the temperature reaching 34Β°C.
"We are doing this because it's too hot," some of the students told Devon Live.
Another boy added, "I'm not in sitting lessons in the boiling weather in trousers."
The main thing the students had a problem with was the fact that girls had two options β skirts or trousers β whereas boys were just left to suffer in trousers.

"Boys and girls should have the same rights anywhere in the word."
Some boys even said that whoever wore shorts the day before were sent to isolation. "I didn't think that was fair, so I walked out," one said.

Thirty-year-old Claire Reeves, whose son attends the academy, told Devon Live on Tuesday: "I have called the school several times and they have told me that if I send my son to school in shorts then he will be sent to the isolation room all day and if I keep him off school then it'll be an unauthorised absence."
She added: "As I am aware, all the other high schools have adapted their policy for the hot weather but Isca are refusing to budge."
This incredible way of protesting has also got the boys a lot of attention on social media.

β Mike (@FarBeyondJaded) June 22, 2017It's totally ridiculous and unfair, I'm very proud of them for protesting in this way and highlighting the issue#HopeForTheFuture

β Graham Cluley (@gcluley) June 22, 2017This is probably the first time we've seen boys protesting sexist dress codes and that too without causing any trouble. Hopefully the school changes their uniform policies to accommodate all students.Β
