If we had a penny for every time a bizarre wedding takes place in the land of marriages, that is India, well, let's just say, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson would not be the only two men speeding off to outer space.

For all the Indian culture that makes us significantly proud of our roots, one thing that we will probably never be able to gulp down is that our marriages are not just unions between two people but two different families.

That is the reason, many a time, people are forced to be married to each other, just because their parents think it's the right call. Our society might not take too kindly to the idea of a blind date, but a blind marriage date? That's one thing that has been going on in our country for ages, and well, this recent example appears to be a bad example of just that.

In what seriously was a bizarre incident to witness, a groom decided to flee his own wedding after seeing the bride's face at the function. 

As per reports, the couple was set to tie the knot and everything was going fine at the function. However, suddenly during one of the ceremonies taking place at the wedding pavilion, the bride lost her balance and fell, revealing her face to the groom.

We do not know what happened, but suddenly, the groom decided that he wanted no further part in the marriage, and took off his Sehra (headdress) and garland, to run away from the wedding.

A video of the incident soon went viral on Instagram, with the reel showing a scared-looking groom speeding off from the wedding stage despite being held on to by some of the wedding guests.

It almost felt like he saw a ghost or something, by the looks of how he suddenly decided to make a U-turn during such a big event.

As per reports, his own family members tried stopping him, but to no avail. While nothing can be said for certain, it feels like the groom really was in for a surprise that he did not end up liking so much.

We do feel really sorry for the bride though. (Such a shame!)
