Even though luxury brands are known for their elegant and comfortable features, people often make fun of them due to their hefty price tags.  

Remember when Gucci started selling inverted eyeglasses for Rs 55k and then again the expensive croc-like perforated shoes? These quintessential products didn't settle well with the audience.

Another brand that's being impugned on the internet is Balenciaga. Recently, an Instagram user witnessed the Spanish brand's latest collection. 

While the models were photographed in front of some great monuments, the bizarre bag is what caught everyone's attention. 

People then came up with their versions of hilarious memes and comments. Some desi people even spoke about the uncanny resemblance with plastic bags or, as they say in Hindi, 'Thailas'! 

Speaking of most Indian households, one would find such types of bags in the kitchen.

As per Balenciaga's official website, the Barbes East-West Shopper Bags cost a whopping between $1,950 to $2,090. Additionally, these are made with calf-skin leather and hence the sky-high price. 

However, the blue and red checked pattern bag reminded us of the bags our moms and aunties carry for grocery shopping.  

If you have to buy such bags from a local shop, these would cost about Rs 250 to Rs 500 but imagine splurging Rs 1,54,903 on it. I mean, whaaaaat?

The bag has now gone viral due to the design. Comedian Rohan Joshi also commented, "TIL I have four Balenciaga bags at home," while another one said, "brb grabbing one from my aaji's collection to call it heirloom."

This isn't the first time the Spanish brand has been dissed. The haute couture brand had also launched crushed leather bags, which left people scratching their heads looking at the exorbitant price. 

Even the launch of floral motif bags made people call them 'kambal bags'. These were sold for Rs 2 Lakh, approximately.
