The most prized source of current entertainment is the ongoing IPL which has kept cricket fans glued to the screens. Yesterday’s match was between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow SuperGiants at the Wankhede Stadium, and the high–voltage match was quite competitive.
Amongst the large crowd of cricket fanatics were Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty and her parents who were in the box cheering for her beau KL Rahul, who is also the LSG captain.

As his ladylove and family cheered him on, it turned out to be a dud show for KL Rahul who ended up having a horrible outing.
For the second time this season, his batting order was quite out of place as he was stumped by Royal Rajasthan bowler Trent Boult and ended his game on a duck.
While people on Twitter turned this moment into a meme for their own entertainment, an interesting spin given to the meme was that it happened in the presence of Suniel Shetty, aka his girlfriends’ father.

Well, jokes apart, here’s hoping the next game proves to be a good win for KL Rahul and his team, whether his ‘sasur ji’ is in the stands or not.

Kuldeep Yadav brought his A-game against his former IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as he picked up four wickets and conceded just 35 runs in his four-over spell on a pitch that was conducive for batting. In a match where 386 runs were scored in 39.4 overs, Kuldeep bowled his four overs at less than nine per over.
The performance was even more special for the left-arm spinner as it came against a team that made him warm the bench for the majority of the last two seasons.
KKR sacked kuldeep yadav from playing 11 and kuldeep yadav sacked entire hope of KKR in 1 over!

Kuldeep played only five matches in the last two years with KKR and the two-time IPL champions did not even place a bid for the 27-year-old at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Kuldeep's match-winning performance against KKR which included the wickets of Shreyas Iyer, Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine shifted the momentum in favour of the Delhi Capitals.

As Kuldeep completed his redemption against a side that, according to fans, treated him unfairly, social media was full of praise for the spinner.

Interestingly, Kuldeep's bowling figures of four for 35 are the best by any Delhi Capitals bowler against KKR. Apart from the left-arm spinner, Khaleel Ahmed too picked up four wickets as KKR fell 44 runs short of the target.
Speaking about his performance after the game, Kuldeep highlighted the backing that he got from the Delhi Capitals camp. "The team is really backing me a lot. Rishabh has been very calm and has been guiding me from behind the stumps. I am enjoying a lot," Kuldeep said during the post-match presentation.

Not just the fans but former India batter Mohammad Kaif too had raised his voice against the ill-treatment that Kuldeep was subjected to when he was part of the Kolkata franchise.
"The way he was treated at KKR when Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan were the captains, he used to be made to sit at home and not even in the squad. When you behave like this, any match-winner feels the pressure," Kaif had said during an interaction with Sportskeeda.

When the two in-form sides Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on each other at the Wankhede Stadium, everyone expected it to be a cracking encounter.
But we have seen many highly-anticipated encounters failing to live up to the hype but that was not the case during the RR vs LSG match.
As expected, the match swung from one corner to the other just like a see-saw which made it difficult to predict who would come out on the top and extend their winning run.
    View this post on Instagram
However, there was one game-changing moment that has become a talking point on the internet due to its novelty and the player associated with it.
There was a stage in the match where Sanju Samson’s side was on the back foot having lost a bunch of wickets in quick succession. This was when the franchise decided to send seasoned campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of a frontline batter Riyan Parag.
    View this post on Instagram
Not only did Ashwin hold the fort from one end but also made useful contributions with the bat, scoring some quick-fire runs. However, with only 10 balls left in their innings, the veteran off-spinner, in an unprecedented move, retired out and walked back to the pavilion, allowing Parag to take his spot in the middle.
Ashwin, retired out, but played his part. pic.twitter.com/p1hD9xAVL7
    — Harish Jangid (@HarishJ56732474) April 10, 2022
This tactical move paid dividends as the youngster from Assam scored eight off four balls as RR finished with a competitive total of 165 for 6 on the board, which would eventually prove to be the match-winning score.
At the time, it was not known whether it was Ashwin’s decision or if he had consulted with the team management before going off the field. And the fans started praising the 35-year-old for another bold cricketing move which, despite being in the rules book, has rarely been used by the teams due to the fear of being called out for their sporting spirit.
Ashwin reads and studies all the rules of cricket and then comes up with a way to implement all of them

Although this has happened in international and domestic cricket before, it was the first time a batter had sacrificed his wicket in this manner in the IPL history. Ashwin didn’t care whether he would be criticised for his action, he did what he thought was right for his side.
However, it was a surprise that, unlike the Jos Buttler run-out controversy, the majority of the people actually loved this tactical move by the team in Pink and hailed Ashwin for his brave decision.
This move has been discussed so often over the last five years but it takes a brave team and a selfless player to translate theory into practice

Parag only made 8 off 4 balls - but that should be enough to vindicate the decision, with Ashwin striking at 122 in his innings
    — Matt Roller (@mroller98) April 10, 2022
Given the margin of defeat, the decision to retire Ashwin out might well have won RR that game
    — Matt Roller (@mroller98) April 10, 2022
It had to be Ashwin, didn't it. He is to the IPL what any woman is to a man's world: Dragging the whole ecosystem into the future by challenging the status quo.

Now that Ashwin has started this, don’t be surprised if more IPL teams use this tactical move to get an upper hand on their opposition.

The RCB opener, who played a match-winning knock in their last match against Mumbai Indians, wrote a simple message in Hindi, which read: “Aap sabhi ko Ram Navami ki shubhkamnaye (Wishing you all a Happy Ram Navmi).”
These were simple greetings on a festival that is widely celebrated throughout the country as it marks the birth of the Hindu God Ram, but, still, some people were not happy with it.
A user seemed pretty pissed with their tweets and he attacked both the players and warned them not to “spread Hindu-Muslim hate”.

Reacting to Rawat’s post, he wrote: “Bhai cricket pe dhyan de, hindu muslim hate mat faila (bro, focus on cricket, don’t spread hindu-muslim hate).”

Replying to the Delhi Capitals skipper’s post, he added a few more words but the crux of his message was the same. “Hindu muslim hate failana band kar. Tu cricketer hai cricket pe dhyan de. Ye sab politics mein mat aa (Stop spreading hindu-muslim hate. You are a cricketer, focus on cricket. Don’t get into politics).”

However, when the people started bashing him for his useless comments, he had no option but to delete his tweets.

But by the time he did that, people had already taken screenshots of his senseless replies and they went viral in no time.
Rais Pathan, who as per his Twitter bio is a member of the Central Waqf Council, shared the screenshot on his account and raised a very pertinent question.
How wishing people on your very own festival is Hindu-Muslim hate?

Both the cricketers, who practice Hinduism, sent out their polite greetings on the auspicious festival. Not a single word in their post was against any particular religion but a moron misconstrued attacked them for no reason at all.

Even a blind person could tell that it was this person who was spreading the hate between the two communities, not the cricketers.

It’s because of people like him that social media has turned into a toxic space and people are finding it hard to breathe.
