Alia Bhatt’s journey in Bollywood has been a scale that has only gone up, with fewer misses and more hits. Call it nepotism or favouritism, the actress surely landed some projects by virtue of being in the famous Bhatt clan, but with strong performances in movies like Raazi and now Gangubai Kathiawadi, you can’t really blame filmmakers on wanting to work with her.

Usually known to be in the news for her work mostly, the RRR actress is currently all over social media as she is all set to marry her beau Ranbir Kapoor this week. As the much-loved couple is all ready to say ‘I do’ to each other, an old interview she once did with Vogue is doing the rounds. Usually known for shying away from personal questions, Alia was asked what is her favourite *** position, and she revealed that it was the ‘classic missionary’ as she is a very ‘simple’ person.  In the same interview, she had revealed that she preferred dating older men over very young men, and sticking to her thoughts, she is marrying Ranbir who is over 10 years older than her.

Alia comes across as a legit simple person who is deeply in love and probably enjoys quiet time with friends and family over partying and painting the town red. Hence, we aren’t really surprised with her choice of position.

From Ravichandran Ashwin’s tactical retired out to Marcus Stonis’ batting position, the Match 20 of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022)  between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave the fans plenty of things to talk about.
The entertainment was not limited to the field. Even the commentators were in a jovial mood during the match and we saw that during the hilarious banter inside the comm box between two renowned commentators.
Indian batting great Sunil Gavaskar poked his fellow commentator from England Alan Wilkins over the issue of the world-famous Kohinoor diamond which now sits on the throne of Queen Elizabeth 2.
Another instance that became a talking point on social networking sites was the voice of the TV umpire Paschim Pathak. The reason why people were confused was that Pathak sounded like legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who has a very unique voice.
Why is Sachin Tendulkar doing third umpire's job today?? #PBKSvGT #IPL2022 @sachin_rt@WasimJaffer14 pic.twitter.com/jg9vMoyEKY

Whenever the on-field umpires went upstairs for his help, the fans started wondering what was Tendulkar, who is the mentor of Mumbai Indians, performing the duties of the third umpire.
Is that Sachin Tendulkar's voice during the run out referral?
    — KSR (@KShriniwasRao) April 10, 2022
A senior sports journalist also felt the same and he put out a tweet, which read: “Is that Sachin Tendulkar's voice during the runout referral?”
Soon many other fans who also felt the same flooded his post with their response. Almost everyone agreed that there was a striking similarity between Pathak and Tendulkar’s voices.
A fan even joked that Pathak would be flooded with offers if he decided to work as a voice-over artist for the ‘Master Blaster’.
His voice is indeed very similar to Sachin

    — Shivam Singh (@ShivamSingh2602) April 11, 2022This was not the first time Pathak had made headlines for reasons other than his umpiring. In 2015, he hogged attention when he turned up on the ground wearing a helmet.
A couple of years back, he had made headlines for his long and luscious locks that he sported during an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi.

Pathak doesn’t have the same long hair anymore but he sure has found a way to dominate the news without even appearing on the field and that in itself is a hell of an achievement.

The Qutub Minar, a historic Indian monument situated in the national capital was actually ‘Vishnu Stambh’ claims VHP Spokesman Vinod Bansal.
He alleges that the famous Mughal tower was built from the remains of 27 Hindu-Jain temples, and was made with the 'intention to offend the Hindu community'.
We demand that all the 27 temples, which were demolished at the site in the past, be rebuilt and Hindus be allowed to offer prayers there, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Spokesman Vinod Bansal added.
    — ANI (@ANI) April 10, 2022
Speaking to ANI, Bansal said, “Qutab Minar was actually 'Vishnu Stambh'. Qutub Minar was built with materials obtained after demolishing 27 Hindu-Jain temples. The superimposed structure was built just to tease the Hindu community.”
Vinod even offered a solution to the alleged indiscretion committed by the Mughals, as he continued, “We demand that all the 27 temples, which were demolished at the site in the past, be rebuilt and Hindus be allowed to offer prayers there.”
While such tall claims were generously made by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, as has become increasingly common in recent years, not a shred of credible evidence was shared by him, making his claims dubious at best, and embarrassing at the least.
Bansal’s digital faux pas has left much of Twitter scratching their heads, as his version of history conveniently tries to ride the prevalent anti-Mughal sentiments, hoping for his 15 minutes of fame.
On the micro-blogging site, this user shared their version of a future verdict, “Future Judgment: No Scientific Evidence regarding 27 Temples being there earlier. There is no Place for Sentiments in the way of Justice. Demolishing Khutub Minar is Illegal. Keeping Majority Sentiments in View, place is given for 27 Temples & build 5 Khutub Minars somewhere.”

We don’t generally expect celebrities to be introverts or have trouble speaking to people. Giving interviews, interacting with fans, meeting a thousand people on set, events and shoots are just a part of their job.
    View this post on Instagram
This is even more common for star kids who have practically grown up in the limelight.
However, one celebrity kid who grew up to be a star himself, still finds it difficult to place a food order, much like us. It’s Abhishek Bachchan.
    View this post on Instagram
The Dasvi actor recently shared in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that he struggles with talking to strangers and can’t even call room service or walk into a hotel lobby without someone guiding him.
    View this post on Instagram
He said, “I am very conscious. People laugh at me. We're sitting in a hotel today, doing our press tour, and if there isn't somebody to help me walk through the lobby, I won't come in. I am scared to enter a place alone. I need somebody around me, I would rather have somebody who can guide me. I'm very shy that way.”
    View this post on Instagram
He shared how his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, comes to his rescue and orders for him because she knows he won’t eat all day otherwise.
"I have certain quirks. If I am outdoor and my wife will call me in the evening asking 'how's your day' whatever, normal husband-wife chat. She says 'have you eaten,' I say 'no.' She says 'okay what do you want to eat' and I tell her and then she will...I can't call room service. Aishwarya has to call (room service), otherwise, she knows I won't eat. I have this issue. I have a problem speaking to a stranger on the phone,” he added.

Although surprising, it is definitely refreshing and relatable to see a famous personality having the same struggles as us.
We always imagine celebrities to have it all, from confidence to smooth-talking skills, but stars like him make us believe that they are just like us.

Having retired from international cricket, legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has established himself as one of the most sought-after names in the broadcasting industry.

The ‘Little Master’ is currently part of the IPL 2022 commentary panel where apart from analysing the game, the 72-year-old also invokes laughter through his cheeky humour.
Gavaskar produced another gem while he was on air during the March 10 encounter between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
    View this post on Instagram
There was a moment in the match when the broadcasters switched to the incredible drone shot of the Wankhede Stadium, which is situated next to Mumbai’s famous Marine Drive.
Looking at the wonderful view of the Marine Drive, the English commentator Alan Wilkins couldn’t stop himself from marvelling at its beauty. During the night when the whole city is brimming with light, the Marine Drive shines like a necklace, hence the name “Queen’s Necklace” and Wilkins reiterated just that in the comm box.
Sunil Gavaskar just teased @Swannyg66 for Kohinoor Diamond. If British Government really does it , India would accept it wholeheartedly on its 75th birthday. #IPL2022 #RRvLSG pic.twitter.com/2yrmuFrYJ2
    — Pankaj (@Pankajlembhe11) April 10, 2022
As soon as he said that, Gavaskar picked up his mic and tried to pull his legs with a cheeky reply. “We are still awaiting the Kohinoor diamond,” Gavaskar said. He even asked the English commentator if he could persuade the British Queen to return the famous Kohinoor diamond back to its rightful owners, India.
    View this post on Instagram
Wilkins was not surprised by Gavaskar’s remarks. In fact, the moment he mentioned the “Queen Necklace” he knew he would get a response like this. “I wonder when that was coming,” he replied as the two burst into laughter.
The fans loved Gavaskar’s straightforwardness and admired the fact that he conveyed his message to the whole world, that too without upsetting anyone. Some fans got so excited that they demanded the Indian government to honour the legendary cricketer with a Bharat Ratna – the country’s highest civilian honour.
Sunil Gavaskar ribbing Alan Wilkins about the British taking away the Kohinoor after Wilkins made a comment about Marine Drive being called the Queen’s Necklace is GOLD! #TATAIPL2022

On Sunday afternoon, two student factions clashed against each other on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in Delhi. According to reports, the conflict allegedly arose over an issue of meat being served in the hostel canteen during Ram Navami.
The incident took place at Kaveri hostel at 3:30 in the afternoon, with 6 students so far reported to be injured in the clashes.
    © Twitter
According to the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU),  members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) assaulted the mess secretary and tried to deter the staff from serving non-vegetarian food in the hostel.

Responding with their own version of events, the ABVP, the student wing of the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, claims the conflict occurred when members of the Left-aligned student faction tried to stop Pooja proceedings from being organized in the hostel.
Accusations of pelting stones and injuries to their members have been alleged by both sides.
According to the police that had been summoned to the campus, the violence that had arisen has now subsided. In his quote to the PTI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Manoj C said,  "There is no violence as of now. A protest was held which is over. We are all positioned here with our team. On the request of the university, we have come here. We are trying to maintain peace,"

There still are protests happening in the vicinity of the campus albeit in a smaller capacity. A student of the prestigious institution also hints that the blame falls squarely at the ABVP’s feet.

Speaking to ANI, JNU Student Sarika said, "In the afternoon today, a message went viral on social media that ABVP members are not allowing non-veg food inside the campus. The mess usually prepares non-veg food items on weekends. However, ABVP members did not let this food to be prepared.”
The JNUSU has also claimed that the ABVP implemented "muscle power and goondaism" to create a ruckus within the campus. Regarding the same, the student body alleged in a statement, "They were forcing and attacking the mess committee to change the dinner menu and exclude the usual non-vegetarian items in it for all students." It further added, “JNU and its hostels are meant to be inclusive spaces for all and not one particular section.”
These allegations by the JNUSU have been refuted by the ABVP outrightly.
In their response, they said, "Some common students had organised a pooja and havan programme on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami at 3:30 PM at Kaveri hostel.” They continued, “This pooja was joined by a large number of common students of JNU. The Leftists came to object, obstruct and prevent the pooja from happening. They have created a false ruckus on the issue of 'Right to Food' (Non-Vegetarian Food),"
Meanwhile, JNU has issued a statement in the case:

On Sunday afternoon, two student factions clashed against each other on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in Delhi. According to reports, the conflict allegedly arose over an issue of meat being served in the hostel canteen during Ram Navami.
The incident took place at Kaveri hostel at 3:30 in the afternoon, with 6 students so far reported to be injured in the clashes.

Unlike popular opinion that folks wouldn’t want to vacation in India if they had a chance to fly abroad, claiming that India doesn’t have as many picturesque views as countries around, I believe that India is a lot more beautiful than we give it credit for.
In fact, it’s not at all that India isn’t scenic, it’s just that we don’t let it stay scenic for too long, especially with people around who don’t give a care in the world while destroying natural beauty, just for the purpose of their thrill.

A video recently went viral on Twitter after a few tourists were recorded driving on the banks of and inside the pristine Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
The video shows a table set at the banks of the river, laden with alcohol bottles and in the background, an Audi racing through the water of the lake that is supposed to be admired, preserved and respected.

Two men can be seen lurking out of the sunroof, while the third drives recklessly through the lake, posing, shouting and being indifferent to the sanctity of the river.

Dipika Pallikal, the Indian squash player, won two historic gold medals for the country six months after giving birth to twin boys.

Dipika was away from the sport for over three years but she made a grand comeback as she won gold in women's doubles and mixed doubles categories at the World Squad Championship in Glasgow, Scotland.
Dipika, who is married to India cricketer Dinesh Karthik, won the doubles title with Joshna Chinappa and then bagged the mixed doubles title with Saurav Ghosal.

    — Joshna Chinappa (@joshnachinappa) April 11, 2022 While the whole country including cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was praising Dipika for her remarkable comeback to the court after 36 months, a media house used a headline that did not go well with fans and they were called out on social media.
Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle pointed out the sexist headline that glorified the squash player as Dinesh Karthik's wife, rather than mentioning Dipika's own achievements.
Hey @ZeeNews do you want to change your headline? It isn't fair to @DipikaPallikal
who is a champion in her own right. I hope you will.

    — Priya Adivarekar (@priyaadivarekar) April 11, 2022 After winning two historic medals for the country, India's first in the World Squash tournament, Dipika said that she never had doubts about making a comeback on the court and said that her mixed doubles partner Saurav as well as her husband Dinesh Karthik backed her to perform once again at the international level.
"It’s just been a long journey for me to be here. And I’m just very, very excited to be playing with Saurav and being with the whole Indian team. There’s a lot of gratitude from me just being here today," Dipika said after the tournament.

And then obviously my husband [IPL cricketer Dinesh Karthik], my in-laws, my parents, all just making me be back here and playing again,” she added.
