    MS Dhoni’s love for football is no secret. It’s a well-known story that the Ranchi-born became a cricketer by chance after his teacher asked him to ditch the goalkeeping gloves for the wicket-keeping ones during his school days.
    As they say we never forget our first love and the same is applicable to Dhoni as well. Even though he became one of the greatest cricketers of all-time, he always had a soft corner for football in his heart.

    Having retired from international cricket, the former Indian skipper loved playing football with his friends from Bollywood, including Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor among others. While some of these matches are for charity, others are hard-fought friendly contests.

    Playing football has been part of Dhoni’s warm-up routine for a long time and it continues to this date. The former CSK skipper was seen kicking away the football in the build-up to their match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2022. 

    While players like Dhoni love playing football before a game, it’s a nightmare for the team’s support staff because they are always worried about the unnecessary injury it can cause, ruling them out of the contest.
    Speaking on Star Sports’ pre-match show, former India head coach Ravi Shastri shared one interesting story about how he had to yell at Dhoni on top of his voice to stop him from playing football before the Asia Cup final against Pakistan.

    Recalling the incident, the former all-rounder said when he saw Dhoni skid through on the grass that was full of dew just five minutes before the toss, his heart came in his mouth as he was worried about a last-minute injury which could force him out.

    After Dhoni fell, Shastri said he got so worried that he yelled at him on top of his voice and asked him to stop the game.The 59-year-old admitted that he had never yelled like that on anyone in his life but he had to do it because of the team’s sake.

    “He loves it. And the intensity, you know, with which he plays, it scares you from the outside. You feel hope he doesn't get injured,” Shastri said during a pre-match show on the host broadcasters.

    “I remember in Asia Cup final, there was dew and went skidding five minutes before toss. I have never yelled like that in my life. 'Stop the game!' I said something like that. You don't want to lose your main player in a game against Pakistan. But to get him out and leave the football that is impossible,” he added.
    Looking at Dhoni still playing football before a cricket match, it doesn’t seem like Shastri’s shout had any impact.

    According to a report in Star, Imran, in the month of April, spent a lot of time in India with Rekha and the two were often seen spending quality time together at beaches, nightclubs & other private spots. 
    The report also claimed that Rekha’s mother was quite happy with the alliance and deemed Imran to be the best suited life partner for her daughter.  
    It was also reported that anyone who saw Rekha & Imran together was struck by their closeness and people were convinced the two stars were deeply in love with each other. 
    However, the report also carried a quote by Imran Khan who had stated that he can’t think of marrying an actress, “The company of actresses is good for a short period. I enjoy their company for some time and then move ahead. I cannot even think of marrying a movie actress.”

    The reigning champions of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings are buried deep in the IPL 2022 points table and are at the 10th spot. They have lost all four of their matches so far and also own the worst Net Run Rate in the tournament.
    Most of the time, they have not been able to score big but on the rare occasions that they do, their bowling line-up completely shatters and fails to defend the big totals. Batters look out of form, bowlers look out of breath and the fielding has been abysmal from the first match.

    And even though their position in the points table reflects a bad look to the entire team and each member of the roster, it sucks especially for the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was made captain by Mahendra Singh Dhoni mere days ahead of the tournament as the latter decided to step down without giving much of an explanation.
    If you manage to kill your ego, ride out the cringe and somehow end up watching an entire CSK match, you will get a feeling that even though Jadeja’s name has a capital “C” adjacent to it on the scoreboard, it is the man behind the wickets, who continues to command the squad.

    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) medium pacer Harshal Patel has left the team bio-bubble in Pune and returned back home after his sister’s death.
    Patel played a crucial role in RCB’s last night’s seven-wicket victory over Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians at the MCA Stadium in Pune. According to a report in Hindi website Dainik Jagran, the Sanand-born learnt about his sister’s demise during the match and he left for his home as soon as the match got over.

    The 31-year-old has gone back home only for one day and will rejoin the RCB squad soon after. However, given the strict COVID-19 guidelines laid out by the BCCI, the pacer might be asked to complete the mandatory quarantine before he is allowed to mingle with the other team members upon his arrival.

    Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam said that his cousin denied him a pair of joggers during his early years in the game. Former national cricketer and one of Babar’s cousins, Umar Akmal, reacts to the claims and reveals how true those allegations are.

    Umar Akmal, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman, has responded to Babar Azam's claim that his cousin denied him a "pair of joggers" during his cricketing formative years. In a January interview with former Pakistan captain and batting great Inzamam-ul-Haq, Babar addressed his early troubles in cricket in-depth, and mentioned the incident as he discussed his early days in cricket.
    Babar claimed that he had asked his cousin if he had any joggers, but he refused, claiming that he didn't. The skipper went on to say that he quickly realised he shouldn't have asked for the shoes in the first place.

    Babar's remark drew a lot of attention, and his father, Azam Siddique, had to clarify the Pakistan captain's stance. His father added on his Instagram account that if one child had asked for the shoes and the other didn't have them or didn't offer them for whatever reason, it wasn't a big problem.
    Still, a lot of Pakistani fans were enraged at Babar’s cousins, all of whom have played international cricket for the country in the past for not showing their support for arguably the best and the most talented cricketer to have come out of that family.

    Akmal, one of Babar's relatives, spoke out about the Pakistan captain's remarks four months later. Akmal, who has represented Pakistan in 16 Tests, 124 ODIs, and 84 T20Is, said he has no idea who of the relatives refused to give Babar their sneakers.

    The former Pakistan wicketkeeper claimed he doesn't know who of his cousins declined to give Babar shoes, but that they have all always supported their relatives who wish to play cricket. Akmal revealed that he has never turned down a request and that those close to him are well aware of this.
    Ace batter and the leader of the Pakistani squad, Babar has been on one of his best runs in international cricket, scoring two hundred in the Test series against Australia and two more centuries in the three-match ODI series against Aaron Finch's team. Pakistan lost the Test series 0-1, but won the One-Day Internationals 2-1.

    Akmal, one of Babar's relatives, spoke out about the Pakistan captain's remarks four months later. Akmal, who has represented Pakistan in 16 Tests, 124 ODIs, and 84 T20Is, said he has no idea who of the relatives refused to give Babar their sneakers.

    The former Pakistan wicketkeeper claimed he doesn't know who of his cousins declined to give Babar shoes, but that they have all always supported their relatives who wish to play cricket. Akmal revealed that he has never turned down a request and that those close to him are well aware of this.
    Ace batter and the leader of the Pakistani squad, Babar has been on one of his best runs in international cricket, scoring two hundred in the Test series against Australia and two more centuries in the three-match ODI series against Aaron Finch's team.     Ever since she made her Bollywood debut with Manoj Bajpayee starrer The Family Man 2, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been the talk of the town. 
    Initially, it was for her performance in the critically acclaimed web series & later for her much publicised & talked about divorce with her husband Naga Chaitanya. 
    Months after her divorce with Naga Chaitanya, Samantha, recently, took to her Instagram stories and shared a picture of her ex-husband to celebrate the 3-year anniversary of their 2019 film Majili. The picture in question was from the same film.

    Now, the actress once again took to her social media account and posted a sweet birthday wish for her ex-brother-in-law & Naga Chaitanya’s half-brother, Akhil Akkineni. 

    Sharing a picture of Akhil in her Instagram stories, Samantha wrote, “Happy Birthday @AkkineniAkhil, Wishing you the very best this year. I hope & pray you are blessed with everything you are looking for God bless”.
