    Perfumes are awesome! They smell amazing and can last much longer than even the best of deodorants.

    Wondering how? Well, there is a certain way and order that one needs to keep in mind when using perfumes. Of course, storing it plays an important role, but more than that, how you apply it, and whether you’ve prepared your skin before applying it, play a much more important role.

    Read on to find out how you can make your perfumes smell fresher for longer:

    1. Choose The Right Perfume © iStock
    First and foremost, you have to choose the right formulation. Perfumes fall into four basic categories depending on their concentration. 

    Eau Fraiche is basically a mist with very low perfume concentration. The fragrance usually lasts for about two hours.
    Next, we have the Eau de Cologne, which has about four per cent perfume concentration. They last about 4 hours before they start fading away.
    Then there’s Eau de Toilette, with anywhere between five to 15 per cent perfume concentration. They last for about 7-8 hours before they start to fade.
    Finally, we have Eau de Parfum, with the highest perfume concentration, anywhere between 20-25 per cent. They can easily last for over 12 hours before they start fading.
    Do note, that the higher the perfume concentration, the higher will be the price. Also, Eau de Parfums have a stronger and heavier fragrance. You will have to figure out your usage before finalising a concentration.
    2. Prepare Your Skin Properly © iStock
    Instead of spritzing your perfume on dry skin, moisturise yourself first. If you use a perfume right after you’ve taken a shower and moisturised, it is guaranteed to last longer. 

    Also, instead of spritzing some perfume on your clothes, you should always use it on your skin.
    3. Vaseline Is Your Friend © iStock
    Another nifty little hack to make your perfumes last longer is to first rub some vaseline or some petroleum jelly on the points where you would normally spray your perfume. 

    Ideally, these should be the area right behind both your ears and your wrists. Vaseline has been known to moisten up your skin and help the oils in your perfume get absorbed better

    One mistake that most people make with perfumes, is that they rub their wrists thinking it will help the perfume start emanating its fragrance sooner, and from a wider area. 

    Rubbing the skin once you have applied the perfume, destroys the top layer of the fragrance, by oxidising it faster than it should. This means the perfume will start fading quicker.
    5. Don’t Shake The Bottle © iStock
    Another mistake that most people make is to shake the bottle of the perfume before using it as if it was some sort of a deo. 

    Because perfume bottles tend to last longer than most deos, the oil in the perfume starts breaking down when they are agitated. 
    Over time, this reduces the potency, as well as the staying power of the perfume.
    6. Layer Your Perfume With Similar Scents © iStock
    Most perfume makers will launch a variety of products based on the same fragrance. Soaps, scented moisturisers, and sometimes, even talcum powders. 

    It is actually a good idea to use these combos, because not only are they economical, they also help in layering the perfume better. 
    This way, the fragrance has a better chance of staying on for longer, as it doesn’t clash with any other scent.

    Now, if you have the option of keeping multiple bottles of the same perfume, or can carry a perfume in your bag, you definitely should be doing that, especially if your perfume has a lighter scent. 

    As the day goes by, just reapply a little bit of the perfume to freshen it up. This comes especially useful when you’re needed to go in for a meeting with an important client, or when you’re going on a date after work.

    Finally, there is the tissue hack. Spray a tissue paper with your perfume, or just dab tissue paper on the areas where you spray your perfumes regularly. 

    Keep this piece of tissue in your closet, in the area where you store your shirts. In fact, you can keep two to three such pieces. Your clothes will pick the fragrance up. 
    When you actually use the perfume the next time, the fragrance from your clothes acts as a secondary layer of the perfume. 
    TL;DR - Use Your Perfumes Wisely To Get The Most Out Of Them
    Perfumes by themselves have a much better-staying power, and a better fragrance when compared to deos. There are many ways where you can get the best out of them and make a regular bottle of perfume last much longer.

    While movies featuring superstars often take huge openings thanks to their immense popularity and massive box office pull, not every superstar film takes a record-breaking opening. 
    That comes only with a few films where the subject matter along with the presence of a superstar excites the audience enough for them to throng the theatres on day one itself. 
    Oftentimes, the movies that make a record-breaking opening turn out to be huge hits at the box office but there have been a few times where Bollywood has broken records on its opening day and eventually crashed thereafter. 
    Here’s a look at 5 such Hindi films below: 
    Trimurti (1995)  © Mukta Arts
    Released during the Christmas period in the year 1995, Trimurti carried a huge buzz around it. Directed by maverick filmmaker Mukul Anand, backed by Subhash Ghai and starring Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor & Shah Rukh Khan, Trimurti became the first film in the history of Indian cinema to cross the Rs 1 crore mark on its opening day. 

    The film collected Rs 1.06 crore on day one but due to the negative response from the critics and the audience eventually failed and ended its lifetime run at a poor Rs 8.57 crore.

    Marking the directorial debut of Ajay Devgn’s father, the legendary action director Veeru Devgan, Hindustan Ki Kasam starred Ajay in the lead role along with Sushmita Sen, Manisha Koirala and Amitabh Bachchan. 

    The film was supposed to repeat the success of Ajay and Amitabh’s previous collaboration Major Saab. 
    It opened to a record-breaking Rs 1.45 crore but the film flopped at the box office in the long run and folded its collection with just Rs 13.96 crore.

    One of the most hyped films of the early ‘00s, Refugee marked the debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor’s sister Kareena Kapoor. 

    The film took the biggest opening of all time earning Rs 1.56 crore but failed to maintain its momentum. It collected Rs 17.08 crore.

    Perhaps the first film where the audience saw the perfectionist side of Aamir Khan who decided to grow his hair and moustache to play the freedom fighter. 

    Mangal Pandey: The Rising collected Rs 3.24 crore at the box office on its opening day and created an all-time record. However, it couldn’t travel the distance and ended its run with just Rs 27.86 crore.

    Starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan along with Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Thugs of Hindostan became the first Hindi film to collect Rs 50 crore on day one itself. But, it crashed from its second onwards and could reach only Rs 138.34 crore.

    From revelation made by contestants, to blames and abuses being hurled at one another, it's something new all the time. And this time, it is an ugly fight that broke out between Payal Rohatgi and Zeeshan Khan during a task.

    The discussion about the demand for a ban on halal meat in Karnataka was going on between Rohatgi and Khan, which turned into a nasty fight. 
    Payal called Zeeshan ‘a terrorist’, spat on him and made other Islamophobic remarks, post which Khan hurled abuses at her.

    Her actions are not sitting well with people on social media, who are demanding her arrest and even eviction from the show. 
    Here are some of the reactions:

    When the matter escalated to the host of the show, Kangana Ranaut, she told Zeeshan, "Payal has been to jail and landed in trouble for several times in the past for making controversial remarks. This is the reason why even right-wings also don't support her." 
    She removed Payal from captaincy and declared she will not be allowed to lead any team until she is on the show, as a punishment. 
    She also put her name on the next week’s 'charge sheet'.

    However, some of the contestants wanted Payal out of the show and viewed the punishment that Kangana gave to her as not enough.

    He has built the world's largest hummer named H1 X3 which is 46 feet (14m) long, 20 feet (6m) wide and 21.6 feet (6.6m) in height. The Sheikh who holds an impressive collection of cars shared pictures and videos of this beast which looks at least four times bigger than any truck or car on the road.

    Talking about the features, it has four diesel engines, one for each wheel, has a two-storey interior plan which includes bathroom, kitchen and bedroom and is in progress. 
    The first floor though is complete with hardwood floors, a toilet, sink and stairs to the second floor. The second floor is where the driver’s seat is and would accommodate guests when it’s complete.

    It can run at a speed of 20 miles or 32 kilometres per hour and is ‘three times bigger than Hummer H1 by the scale and 27 times by volume.' It will be displayed in the Off Road History Museum, Sharjah, UAE along with a couple of Sheikh’s other automobiles.

    Urfi, who doesn’t follow any religion, has been branded 'anti-nationalist' and 'anti-Muslim' because of this reason. 
    In an interview with a leading daily she said, “I am a Muslim girl. Most of the hate comments I receive are from Muslim people. They say that I am tarnishing the image of Islam. They hate me because Muslim men want their women to behave in a certain way. They want to control all the women in the community.  I don’t believe in Islam because of this.”

    Recently, in an interview with ETimes, she addressed the religion-based trolling and the attacks on her for 'tarnishing Islam' because of her clothes. 
    She said, “Mujhe kaha jaa raha hai Islam ka naam Barbaad kar rahi hai… but tumko kisne bola Islam ka bhaar mere shoulders par daalo? (I am being told that I am ruining the name of Islam, but who has asked people to put Islam’s burden on my shoulders?), I’ve not taken the responsibility to promote Islam.”
    She added, “Ajmal Kasab killed so many people he did not ruin the name of Islam but just because I am wearing short clothes I am ruining the image of Islam.”

    In the same interaction, she added that the film industry is also not accepting her because of her fashion choices. She shared how one casting director also commented on her clothes and advised her to work in adult web series because of the “bad image”.

    Chennai Super Kings (CSK) came into the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the defending champions but they are yet to register a win in the ongoing tournament. 

    Playing under a new captain Ravindra Jadeja, after MS Dhoni decided to step away from the leadership role, CSK have lost to Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in their first couple of games. 
    One of the main reasons for their poor start has been linked with the absence of their premier bowler Deepak Chahar for whom the Chennai-based franchise splashed Rs 14 crore at the mega auction. 
    Deepak Chahar wanted to be paid less at the auction so that CSK could make a better squad

    Moeen Ali dropped a sitter to give Quinton de Kock an extra life and the South African wicket-keeper batter made the most out of it by scoring a quick-fire half-century. 
    CSK cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes again because they are set to take on Punjab Kings in their next match on Sunday (April 3) and the Mayank Agarwal-led outfit is filled with power-hitters who can change the course of the match in a flash.
