MS Dhoni stepped down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) days ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former India skipper also picked Ravindra Jadeja to take up the leadership role of the defending IPL champions.

Dhoni will go down in the history books as one of the most successful captains in the cash-rich league. Dhoni led CSK for 12 years and they reached the playoffs in 11 seasons.

CSK was banned for two years (2016 and 2017) and Dhoni represented Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG) in those years. Dhoni led RPSG in 2016 but was sacked as captain in the following year as Steve Smith was given the charge of the side.

While everyone knows Dhoni does not believe too much in team meetings and making strategies for his opponents ahead of a game, the former skipper let his game plan be known to RPSG's performance coach that left him bamboozled.

Recalling his first meeting with MS Dhoni, Prasanna Agoram said that the wicket-keeper batter greeted him upon his arrival in Pune but also mentioned that he will not be there at the strategy meetings, adding that he doesn't need advice and if he needs a suggestion, he will ask for it.

"Look, I know you (Prasanna Agoram) have a lot of experience in this field and that players like you, and the coach Stephen Fleming got you on board. It's a pleasure to work with you," Dhoni was quoted as saying by Sports Tak.
"Give all the info and strategies to the coach and the players. Get the strategy meetings done with the players along with the coach, but don't expect me to be there and also don't give me any advice until I ask you. But mark a copy on the email on all your communications with the coach and players," the former RPSG captain added.

This anecdote by the former RPSG performance coach just describes MS Dhoni in a nutshell. Going about his business with clarity and not complicating things with excessive information.

Fans will get to see Dhoni in action for the first time since he led the franchise to the title in 2021 in the UAE. With the burden of captaincy off his shoulders, we all expect Dhoni to go after the bowlers and bat the way he used to when he burst onto the scene.

With MS Dhoni stepping down from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captaincy, the defending champions will usher in a new era under the command of Ravindra Jadeja.
Given all the amount of success, the 40-year-old talisman enjoyed while leading the side since the tournament's inception in 2008, filling in his shoes will not be easy for any player, no matter how talented and skilful they are.
    © Twitter/IPL
Apart from his brilliant understanding of the game, the secret to his success, many believed, was his cool and calm demeanour. No matter how intense the match got, the former India captain hardly lost his cool and allowed his emotions to get the better of him.

Obviously, there were a few exceptions, which showed that he was not an alien but a human.
Who can forget the famous encounter between CSK and Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019 where Dhoni crossed all boundaries and did the unthinkable which shocked the whole world.
    What Made Dhoni Angry?
The match between two former IPL champions went to the wire and the Chennai-based outfit needed eight to win off the last three balls. The controversy started when Ben Stokes bowled a full toss which was initially deemed a no-ball for height by the umpire standing at the non-striker’s end.
Due to their better position, only leg-umpires are tasked with declaring a no-ball in such cases but for some reason, the official at the bowling end raised his hand and signalled a no-ball.
    © Instagram/IPL
He soon realised his mistake and revoked his decision which angered the CSK batters. Dhoni, who was sitting in the dugout, first registered his discontent from the sidelines but then walked straight into the middle of the pitch to have a word with the match officials.

People couldn’t believe what they just saw as nobody had seen Dhoni get this angry during a match. Shocked by his behaviour, even the former cricketers had chided the legendary wicket-keeper for setting a bad example for the kids.
Among the firsts for me in today's game was the sight of Dhoni walking out onto the ground. As @MichaelVaughan said on #CricbuzzLIVE it is something he will realise he shouldn't have done.
    — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 11, 2019
A captain confronting the umpires in the middle of the ground during the match was an unprecedented event. It had never happened before and it never happened after that.
Given the gravity of the incident, many had expected Dhoni to get a severe punishment but he got away pretty cheaply. The BCCI shut down the matter by handing him a fine of 50 per cent match fee.

Had there been any other player, would he have also gotten away with a small fine? The answer is probably not. Dhoni’s star status in the IPL certainly came to his rescue and forced the BCCI to deal with the matter with leniency.

The Kashmir Files, written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, has been making headlines ever since its trailer was released. After a long wait, the film was finally released on March 11 and has been setting the box office on fire.
While moviegoers have been appreciating The Kashmir Files from the very first day of its release, a section of social media users called it a 'propaganda film'.
    View this post on Instagram
Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who plays a pivotal role in the film, has now slammed those who are speaking against it.

Taking to Twitter, the actor posted a throwback video of Kashmiri Pandits. Originally posted by AP, the news clip states how 24 Hindus, including 11 men, 11 women and two children, were "dragged from their homes" and killed.
(Watch this video of the innocent people who are commenting on the killing of Kashmiri Hindus or calling #TheKashmirFiles a propaganda film @AP. When terrorists brutally killed 24 innocent people! Apologize to them. Repent. Try to heal the wounds. Not to scrape them)."

For the unversed, The Kashmir Files depicts the heart-wrenching killings and the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 during the Kashmir insurgency. Besides Kher, the movie also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar in pivotal roles.
Despite a slew of controversies, the movie is in no mood to slow down at the box office and has entered the Rs 200 crore club in the domestic market. Also, it has turned out to be the biggest hit Bollywood film made during the pandemic, beating Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif-starrer Sooryavanshi.

Interestingly, post the success of Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah too has announced a film based on true events.
Titled The Kerala Story, the upcoming movie will reportedly narrate the stories of Kerala girls who went missing and never returned home.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is all set to get underway on Saturday (March 26) with a blockbuster clash between last year's finalists Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

This year, two new teams -- Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans -- will also challenge for the title.
Ahead of the 15th edition of the tournament, fans were left shell shocked as former India skipper MS Dhoni stepped down from the leadership role at CSK and gave the captaincy to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Cricket pundits and fans have been analysing every team and picking their favourites to win the title. However former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has ruled out one team that he feels lacks impact players and will not lift the trophy.

According to Gavaskar, Punjab Kings, who spent 68.55 crores at the mega auction, do not have any impact players and will struggle to challenge for the title.

"Punjab Kings is one of those teams that have not managed to win the IPL. This time, I don't think they have an impact player in their squad but this can benefit the team as well. When there are very low expectations, there is very less pressure and when the pressure is less, the players are freer in their approach," Gavaskar told Sports Tak.

"In that aspect, I think Punjab Kings can surprise a few. Will they win the trophy? I doubt that. See, this is a T20 format and you have to be in that consistent cycle of winning," he added.

Gavaskar's remarks did not go well with Punjab Kings fans on Twitter who called out the Indian batting legend for being overly critical of their team.

They have the arsenal with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Kagiso Rabada and Shahrukh Khan in their squad.
The Punjab-based franchise will open its campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday (March 27).

In 2016, Kareena Kapoor Khan starred alongside Arjun Kapoor in R Balki’s Ki & Ka. Besides its unique plot, the film made headlines for featuring multiple kissing scenes between its two lead characters played by Kareena & Arjun.
Before the release, the two stars were often asked about their multiple kissing scenes and about Kareena’s alleged no-kissing policy post her marriage with Saif Ali Khan.

Reacting to the question of breaking her no-kissing policy at the trailer launch of Ki & Ka, Kareena replied, “I read that there was this policy. I don't know where it came from.”

At the same event, Kareena called Arjun “a good kisser”. And when she was asked about her husband Saif’s reaction to the trailer which included their kissing scenes as well, Kareena replied, “He was very happy after watching the promo of Ki & Ka. He found it very different and exciting. He actually messaged Arjun about how much he liked the promo”
And later at another event, the actress went on to reveal the reason why she kissed Arjun so many times in the film.

She said, “Let me say that I am quite sure that after this movie everyone will want a cook or maid, somebody to pay their bills. To do everything just the way Arjun Kapoor does. Not because he is very good at his job but because he is a very sexy looking hunk yaar. No wonder you get so many kisses from me in this movie.”

At this statement, Arjun joked, “Chaliye headline toh mil gayi ab hum jaa sakte hain. Ab hamaara kaam ho gaya, we can leave now. (Media has got the headline, now our work here is done. We can leave.)”

Upon its release, Ki & Ka received positive reviews and turned out to be a box office success earning over Rs 50 crore.

‘Bold movies beget bold reviews’, a piece of advice that was doled to me long back when I first started minting reviews. And honestly, it was as true as it gets.
While Bollywood is largely dominated by masala movies that harbour dance, drama and all that jazz, a select few come and hit you with a dose of reality that gets hard to shake off.

A recent and resounding example of it has been Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits back in the 1990s, the movie The Kashmir Files has been an uncomfortable masterpiece that is being appreciated by the audiences for shedding light on the true events that preceded the 1990s genocide.

Crossing the 200 crore mark already in just 2 weeks, as more and more people hail the movie and its success, there are also a bunch of them who have polarising views about what is shown in the movie.
So as per @vivekagnihotri , anybody who is critical of his film #TheKashmirFiles , are terrorists. pic.twitter.com/A56etn82Rr

    — Vikas Kumar singh (@VikasKumar529) March 25, 2022 Commenting on the same, Director Vivek Agnihotri recently responded saying, “It's a great service to democracy that you polarise between the evil and the good. Actually, I will not use the word polarise, I would say differentiate and segment people who are pro humanity, people who believe in human values and human rights, and the people who are from the terrorism industry.”
He went on to say, “People who give ideological or intellectual or media support to terrorists. So, today on one side, we have a huge number of people who believe in humanity, and the other side has very small numbers.”

    — News7 India (@news7indialive) March 25, 2022This man has always showcased women, taking undue advantage, to move up the ladder of success. He is a shame to humanity. Presenting half truth is dangerous. He is a witty fox.
    — Domnic john dsilva (@distesandom) March 25, 2022Claiming how the audience here can be categorised into ‘Ram and Raavan’, Vivek said, “Out of the 2 crores people who saw this film you won’t find a single person who will say this film is a polarising film. People who support terrorist groups are the ones criticising the film. The Kashmir Files is not dividing or polarising it is differentiating between Ram and Raavan."
"Why should I say anything to terrorists? I would tell the people who believe in humanity to defeat and destroy the terrorists." Vivek told ETimes.
The filmmaker has received critical acclaim for his film which has done exceptionally well at the box office and is still going strong.

Age is just a number. From Roger Ferderer to Cristiano Ronaldo, over the years many professional athletes have justified this famous adage through their incredible on-field performances.
Like any other sport, even in cricket, we expect players to play at the highest level till a certain age and then retire making way for youngsters. It’s not very often that we see cricketers carry on playing, even after crossing 40.
    © Twitter/Rajasthan Royals
At the age when most professional cricketers retire, leg-spinner Pravin Tambe burst onto the scene and went on to play in the world’s biggest T20 tournament – the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He made his IPL debut in 2013 at the age of 41 under the leadership of current India head coach Rahul Dravid at Rajasthan Royals.
His journey was riddled with struggles but he never lost hope and continued working hard, and in the end, went on to achieve his ultimate goal.
    © Twitter/Rajasthan Royals
Dravid played a huge role in fulfilling Tambe’s dream and the leggie said whatever he was able to achieve was because of him. During trials, the former India skipper never bothered about his age and gave him the chance in RR after looking at his performance.

“Rahul Dravid has played a very important role in my journey. Whatever I’m now, it’s because of him,” Tambe told Sportskeeda.
“During those two to three days of the trials, he never asked me about my age. He just looked at my performance and selected me. That’s a great thing about him,” he added.

Tambe’s incredible journey, which was riddled with hardships, is set to be immortalised with the release of his biopic ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’.
People know Tambe as the cricketer who was one of the oldest players to feature in the IPL but not many are aware of the struggles he went through to achieve his lifelong dream of playing cricket at the highest level.
His biopic, which stars Shreyas Talpade in the lead role, will give the audience an insight into his personal life. With age not on his side, he was asked to give up on his dreams but they couldn’t deter his self-belief. The movie is set to release on April 1.

It's almost close to a month since Warner Bros released Matt Reeves' The Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson as Gotham's Dark Knight, but fans are still talking about it all over the world.

Yeah, while there have been a few critics of the film, the general consensus has been that most fans have loved watching Rob's take on the Batman in the new film.
    © Warner Bros
Now, as you know, the movie was a pretty long one as it followed in the footsteps of Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home in being more than 2-and-a-half-hours long.

The Batman is somewhat 3 hours long, which means that it might have covered all the things there were to be covered, right?
    Wrong!
According to reports, there were a lot of deleted scenes from the film that obviously didn't make the final cut due to some of the other reasons.
    © Warner Bros
Well, it turns out that one scene was actually very important to the future of Robert Pattinson Batman movies.

The scene was none other than the one featuring Batman's arch-nemesis, The Joker.
    © DC Comics
If you've seen the film, you'd know that after The Riddler is captured and sent to the Asylum, he ends up being in the chamber next to what looked like the Joker.

Now, a new 5-minute-long deleted scenes footage has been posted by Warner Bros online, showcasing The Joker in his full might.
The Joker in the film is played by actor Barry Keoghan, and while in the movie, we could not have a good look at his face, the new deleted footage gives us a proper peek.

In the scene, Joker can be seen in his cell while opposite Robert's Batman in Arkham Asylum. The two have a meeting where they can be seen having a menacing conversation.

While the deleted scene may not give an HD look at Keoghan's Joker's face in full, it was still enough to let fans see his horrific smile.
Well, as soon as the video hit social media platforms, here is what the fans had to say about it.
