Rajasthan Royals might not have had the kind of results they wanted in the last few years but there’s no doubting that they are one of the most active teams when it comes to social media engagements.
View this post on InstagramThe franchise based out of Pink City, Jaipur, always remains in the headlines, thanks to their quirky social media posts. A day after unveiling their new jersey for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league, the franchise took everyone by surprise when their official Twitter handle introduced Yuzvendra Chahal as their “new captain”, whom they had bought at IPL 2022 mega auction for Rs 6.50 crore.
    Congrats Yuzi
    — Sanju Samson (@IamSanjuSamson) March 16, 2022
Sharing a picture of the leg-spinner in their new match-day kit, the franchise wrote: “Meet RR new captain @yuzi_chahal.”
    Jealous jealous
    — Rajasthan Royals (@rajasthanroyals) March 16, 2022
Since it was posted on their official account, the Rajasthan Royals supporters couldn't comprehend if it was real news or some sort of a prank. Before the season, RR had retained Sanju Samson for a whopping Rs 14 crore and announced that he would continue to lead them in the upcoming edition.
Yeah account hack kar dunga ab main
    — Yuzvendra Chahal (@yuzi_chahal) March 16, 2022
Soon the fans realised that it was nothing but Chahal being at his mischievous best. A scroll down to his Twitter handle was enough to tell that he had taken over the Rajasthan Royals official account and was posting stuff he liked.
RR me twitter account me in login kar Diya hai … bola tha admin job pange mat Lena https://t.co/k3yNd6VsEx
    — Rajasthan Royals (@rajasthanroyals) March 16, 2022
“hahahaha ab aayega maza Thanks for the password @JakeLushMcCrum,” Chahal wrote on Twitter.
After logging in to RR handle, he wrote: “RR me twitter account me in login kar Diya hai … bola tha admin job pange mat Lena.”
Apart from appointing himself as RR's new leader, the leggie also posted a picture of him batting and told the fans he would open the innings with Jos Buttler if the post garnered 10,000 retweets.

    — Rakshit Jain (@imrj2001) March 16, 2022Just loving this .. Yuzi and RR admin will bring these superb mazedaar things all this ipl .. yuzi is a superb addition to RR and from this team will also do well ..
    — Ankit sharma (@Nkittt) March 16, 2022ye sai hai apas me khel re hai kya official account hai
    — Vikash Mali (@hopeisdere) March 16, 2022All this was enough to tell  that Chahal had indeed taken over their account just like he promised in his previous tweet. While some fans enjoyed this, others urged the RR to adopt a more serious approach and not mislead the fans on the internet.
Chahal, who was a key member of Royal Challengers Bangalore set-up till last year, failed to attract any bids from them in this year’s auction. The 31-year-old will team up with veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and hope to form a formidable spin attack.

With Australia visiting Pakistan for the first time in 24 years, it was supposed to be a historic tour.
Given what was at stake for Pakistan in this home series, the fans had expected to see an exciting contest between bat and ball but they have all been left disappointed, mainly due to the kind of playing surfaces that have been prepared so far.
    View this post on Instagram
With no help on offer for the bowlers, the batters have been able to score some big runs in the series so far but it has taken the shine away from the contest, making it extremely one-sided.
What was supposed to be a historic tour has ended up causing huge embarrassment to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Not just these ‘road-like pitches’ but their hospitality has also made Pakistan a butt of jokes on social networking sites.

On Monday, the visuals from the second and the final Test which is currently underway in Karachi once again became a huge talking point on the micro-blogging site.
Having cleaned up the hosts for 148 runs in the first innings, the Pat Cummins-led side would have felt half their job was done but they didn’t take into account the nature of the surface they were playing on.
    View this post on Instagram
To their credit, the Pakistan batters did, especially skipper Babar Azam, produce a much improved performance in their second outing but the 22-yard strip also aided them and made their job easy.
Having picked two early wickets, the hosts went wicketless on the penultimate day of the series finale and the pitch also played a huge role in ensuring that.

There was one particular incident involving Cummins that told you how poor the surface was. The Aussie skipper was not impressed with the uneven areas near the bowling crease at one end.
Hence, the 28-year-old took it upon himself to even the surface out for the sake of the safety of his bowlers. At the time, Cameron Green was carrying out the bowling duties and he could be seen telling Cummins what area needed hammering.

    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 15, 2022
Instead of taking help from the ground staff, the world’s number one Test bowler took the hammer in his hand and started beating as ferociously as he could to make it even. The PCB’s official Twitter handle posted a video with a caption that read: “So @patcummins30 is Thor?”
But their humour back-fired as people slammed them for killing the excitement by preparing dead surfaces.

    — AnuP MaHapatrA (@am_i_anup) March 15, 2022So far, this tour hasn’t lived up to its billing and fans would hope that things change in the limited-overs series and they get to see an even competition between bat and ball.

Two years after the release of Baaghi 3, Tiger Shroff is returning to the big screen with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti 2.
The film is slated to release this Eid on April 29 and its trailer will be out on March 17. Ahead of that, Tiger Shroff took to Twitter and shared three new character posters featuring himself, Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

As soon as Tiger’s character poster was dropped, it reminded fans of Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick films. The poster does have an uncanny similarity to one of the John Wick 2 posters.

This isn’t the first time posters of Heropanti 2 have been compared to John Wick. Two years back when the first look posters of the film were released, at that time as well fans had trolled it for ripping John Wick posters.
Sharing the poster, Tiger tweeted, “Action, swag & Heropanti sabko aati nahi, Aur Meri jaati nahi”.

One fan tweeted, “Tbh at first glance I thought it was a John Wick poster.”
One comment read, “FFS atleast bring out an original poster that immediately doesn't remind of someother movie”.

With the 2-0 thrashing of Sri Lanka in the just-concluded series, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team registered yet another clean sweep.
#TeamIndia captain @ImRo45 speaks about the experience and learnings on leading the side for the first time in a Test series. #INDvSL | @Paytm pic.twitter.com/41EuDxyDrG
    — BCCI (@BCCI) March 14, 2022
This was their fifth whitewash across formats in the last few months under Rohit’s command. First New Zealand, then the West Indies and now Sri Lanka, Team India, under the leadership of its new captain, has produced some incredible results.
After becoming India’s full-time captain in limited-overs cricket, Rohit-led side thrashed New Zealand 3-0 in the T20I series last year and followed it up with four-back-to-back clean sweeps against the West Indies and Sri Lanka across formats this year.

    — BCCI (@BCCI) March 14, 2022
Owing to the impressive results Team India has managed in the last few months, naturally Rohit has been getting a lot of praise for his astute leadership. Most cricket experts seem to be mighty impressed with the 34-year-old’s decision-making on the field.
That's that from the Chinnaswamy Stadium.#TeamIndia win the 2nd Test by 238 runs and win the series 2-0.@Paytm #INDvSL pic.twitter.com/k6PkVWcH09
    — BCCI (@BCCI) March 14, 2022 Among them was former India opener Wasim Jaffer who went on to make an outlandish claim while praising Rohit's leadership after the conclusion of the Sri Lanka Test series.

“Rohit Sharma can become a better Test captain than Virat Kohli. Don't know how many Tests he will captain, but tactically I feel he is one of the best captains and we are seeing the results of how they have whitewashed each series. It feels like the captaincy has come in the hands of the right captain,” Jaffer said during an interaction with ESPNCricinfo.
Comparing Rohit with his predecessor, Virat Kohli, who had set such high standards during his tenure, is quite natural but the thing one can’t digest is how easily people have started downplaying the former skipper’s legacy, especially in the longest format of the game.
KL, Rohit, Vihari, Kohli, Iyer, Pant, Jadeja, Ash, Bumrah, Shami and many No.11 options ... Suddenly, it all looks fine. Under Rohit and Dravid, a world beating Test unit is taking shape.
    — Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif) March 15, 2022
Jaffer was not the only former cricketer to belittle the achievements of Kohli-led Team India. Before him, it was Mohammad Kaif who downplayed the work done by the previous regime while lavishing praise on Rohit and Dravid.
    © Reuters
Intentionally or unintentionally, they forget that the 33-year-old batter is India’s most successful captain of all-time. He finished his Test captaincy with 48 wins under his belt in 68 matches – more than any other Indian captain did before him.

Celebrating the series win is fine but overlooking the achievements of the previous regime after just one series win, that too against a Sri Lankan team, is just pure ignorance.
    © Reuters
Clearly the fans were having none of this absurd comparison and they lashed out at the former opener for making such an outlandish claim, without taking into account the past records.

He's 35 and these guys think he can do better than Kohli
    — R. (@abs7crazy) March 15, 2022Rohit will be captain only for 12-13 months
    — Prathamesh1845 (@prathamesh18451) March 15, 2022Yes because he started with Virat's team only
    — Saikat Mandal (@imsaikat19) March 15, 2022Why are we suddenly behaving like Pakistan? It was their domain to compare everyone with Virat after performing against minnow.
    — KingKohli (@HonestOp1n1on) March 15, 2022The thing is that current Indian team is very strong in all departments and that team was made by Kohli. That's it, nothing new to speak. There is not captaincy debate i guess.
    — Aditya Neela (@adityaneela1) March 15, 2022Rohit is natural leader
    But honestly..
    This statetement is an exaggeration
    — 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞 (@ShindeManish187) March 15, 2022When he says that Rohit can become a better Test captain than Kohli, Jaffer should be asked what’s the basis of his remark. Does he really think Rohit will guide India to more Test victories than Kohli? If not, how did he come to that conclusion?
Singing praise of the new India skipper is totally fine but while doing that one must not forget that the team he has inherited was put together by his predecessor over many years.
