After cancelling flight tickets thrice, it is now that I was able to meet my niece of 10 months who is a citizen of the US. Long time, no see. Thanks to the lung-wrecking virus.
BTW, when was the last time you boarded a plane for a leisure trip? Most of us have been in our sanitised bubbles for years. But now, travel is relatively safer for fully vaccinated people.
Though, after laying low for years, your immune system will still need some boost. Doesn’t matter how smoothly your trip is planned, travel always takes a toll on your body.
So can you really boost immunity by making a few simple changes to your lifestyle?
That’s a mystery scientists are actively trying to solve by understanding the impact of age, diet and exercise. Meanwhile, you can strengthen your body’s natural defences by adding a few steps to your plans for the road.
1. Focus On A Nutrient-Rich DietWhen you want to work on the immune system, start with your gut. If the microbiome present in your gut is functioning properly, it will defend your body against invading bacteria and viruses.
It educates and warns your immune system about friends and foes and empowers it to fight against foreign invaders such as the Coronavirus.
Focus on eating red, orange and green vegetables as they have anti-inflammatory properties and probiotics for a healthy gut.

2. Improve Your Sleep QualityHow much can sleep do for your immune system? A lot. The best way to boost your immune system when travelling is by taking care of your sleep. Studies have shown that lack of sleep or poor-quality sleep can affect some of the functions of the immune system and increase the risks of infections.
Stick to your sleep schedule before, during or after your trip and be mindful of the time zone changes. Prepare beforehand for jet lag. Start by slowly shifting your sleep schedule towards the time zone you’re travelling to. Try some expert sleep techniques if needed.

3. Stay Hydrated Throughout The TripYou might drink the litres your body need on a regular day but it’s easy to forget about the water when you’re on the move. Staying hydrated is another important activity that helps boost your immune system.
Reducing water intake or dehydration can also encourage you to overeat. So avoid that uneasy feeling you get after filling your stomach with unnecessary food by carrying a bottle of water with you.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3114__
4. Start Using Immunity-Boosting Supplements This will be in addition to eating nutritious foods. While consuming all the right nutrients while travelling is a challenging task, supplements can make it easier for you. So make sure to incorporate these immunity-boosting supplements into your routine.
Vitamin D: Between 1,000-4,000 IU depending on blood levels
Zinc: Under 40 mg
Vitamin C: 1,000 mg, twice a day
Vitamin B12: As recommended by your doctor.
Curcumin: 500 mg

5. Lay Off The Alcoholic Drinks & Build A Flexible Fitness Routine Nobody wants to count their drink on a vacation but doing so is vital for your health, especially with a hovering danger of newer COVID-19 variants. Your hotel might give you multiple reasons to indulge in cocktails and booze but studies have shown that alcohol suppresses your body’s immune response.
Try avoiding alcohol for the month following your vacation in order to give your immune system some time to recover.
Work on creating a fitness routine you can easily follow even if you’re on a vacation. If that isn’t possible then, get back to your regular fitness regimen as soon as your return.
Physical activity can improve the circulation of immune cells and anti-inflammatory cytokines. It improves the functioning of your immune system and decreases stress hormones.
You don’t have to have a rigorous routine to keep your immune system boosted. You’ll reap the benefits even if you indulge in simple walking, skipping, cycling, yoga and using stairs.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3116__
The BottomlineAlong with the above points, make sure you sanitise everything before you enter your hotel room and later, your house. While you’re on vacation, leave the stress behind. Stress too has a negative impact on your immune system.

When we’re trying to get fit, it’s easy to overdo ourselves.
Obsessing over diet and rigorous workouts can show some compelling results. But they’re no good without the recovery time. I hope we can all agree with that.
Similarly, not all exercises are as satisfying and power-packed as a deadlift but they’re no good if your knees or other joints are injured.
If not taken care of, your joints only get weaker with time resulting in a higher number of injuries. Integrate these five exercises into your routine to bulletproof your joints, reduce overall body pain and prevent workout injuries.
1. Step UpWhy: Step-ups are good for leg strength as they activate the muscle groups of your lower body. They teach you to balance while relieving your knees from any sort of unsettling pain and sensations.
How: If you need, hold a handle for balance or place one of your hands on a wall for support. Place one foot on the stepper. Raise your other leg, bending it to a 90-degree angle. Hold for a couple of seconds before returning to the ground and repeating from the other side.
If you want to make it more challenging, add a toe tap to each rep.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3109__
2. Reverse Hyper (Back Extension)Why: This glute extension activates the lazy glute muscles, relieving pressure off joints and back muscles. Avoid this one if you have a back injury.
How: Take a Swiss ball and lie facedown on it. Make sure your upper body is supported and your hip crease is aligned along the ball’s edge. Flex your toes and legs. Squeeze your butt and raise them together so they’re in line with your torso. Put forearms on the ground. Squeeze and hold for up to 5 seconds, then lower your legs without letting your feet come fully to the floor. 10 reps, each leg.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2118__
3. Resistance Band Shoulder PressWhy: Shoulder presses target your shoulder muscles and upper back. It’s good for strengthening them which can help relieve the pressure from joints.
How: Start in a seated position with the band wrapped underneath your thighs. Take one side of the band in each hand and brings your hands on either side of your chest. Brace your core, expand your chest and keep your back straight.
Raise your hands above the crown of your head and try to get your hands to touch. Do it slowly and smoothly. If it feels too light and easy, switch to dumbbells instead of the band.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2117__
4. Single Leg DeadliftWhy: Single leg deadlift challenges your balance and works on the glutes and hamstrings. It also takes the pressure off the joints by strengthening the stabilisers around your knees.
How: Stand with your feet hip-width apart with a dumbbell in one hand and start shifting your weight to one foot. Do not focus on sending your free leg back, send the butt back instead. Keep a soft standing knee to protect your joints. Go as far into the hinge as you can control and keep your rear leg in alignment with your hips, shoulders and head.
Squeeze the glute of your standing leg and bring yourself back to stand. Repeat with the other leg and pass on the dumbbell to another hand as well.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3110__
5. Weighted Jefferson CurlWhy: Weighted Jefferson Curl is for your entire back and hamstrings. It helps improve both mobility and flexibility.
How: Take a kettlebell of a weight you can easily lift. Stand on a low stool or stepper holding the weight in front of your thighs.
Slowly bend forward until you are in a fully relaxed position. Allow the weight to just hang. Roll up slowly after a beat and continue to go up and down for 10 reps. Hang out at the bottom for 30 seconds to cool down.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3060__
The BottomlineExercises for knee pain or joint exercises, in general, should be a part of your workout as they form the foundation of your strength as you grow older. If your joints are not aligned with the weights you’re lifting, the injuries will only increase.
So no hocus-pocus, only focus.

Hello there,
I wanted to introduce you to some of the best hair care products in the business simply because I appreciate the efforts you make to keep your crown from falling.
Hair is important and there’s no shame in losing it either. But when time takes a toll on your scalp, it pays to work with nature’s powerful ingredients such as potassium-packed red onion.
From a sulphur-rich red onion shampoo that aims to stimulate hair growth, elasticity and strength, to a hair oil with antibacterial and antifungal properties that can benefit your scalp, these are our recommendations for hair loss.
1. Hair Fall Control Shampoo Onion extract deals with common hair problems such as dryness, hair fall, frizzy hair at the root level, making the results last longer than your regular product. The blend of onion and hibiscus is good news for your scalp as it improves blood flow.
This shampoo, in particular, targets the main cause of hair loss—the DHT hormone. Caffeine stimulates hair growth from the roots and onion extract deals with heat damage and skin infection.

2. Frizz Control ConditionerConditioner is truly an underrated hair care product and it’s time to give it the spotlight it deserves.
This combination of argan, onion, amla and bhringraj works together to give you smooth, nourished and detangled hair. Along with controlling hair fall, this conditioner will help you achieve shinier and stronger locks.
It’s also loaded with natural actives like keratin, rice water and apple extract, so that’s a bonus. If you have curly hair, this one is definitely for you.
Leave it on for 5-10 minutes after shampooing and wash off with cold water.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3106__
3. Hair Growth OilYou wouldn’t appreciate a hair oil until you see the results of a regular head massage. It can do more for you than any other hair care product as hair oil plays an important role in helping the blood circulate and adding life to dull hair. And with popular hair growth stimulators like onion extract, bhringraj, neem and fenugreek, you’ll only reap four times the benefits.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2469__
4. Hair MaskA hair mask isn’t a part of every guy’s hair care routine just yet but if you are seeing a lot of hair fall, you need to give it a shot. The onion and egg hair mask is rich in protein that reduces breakage and hair thinning. The core ingredients of this hair mask prevent your scalp from infections, keep them from losing their shine and make them thick and stronger.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1460__
5. Hair Growth ActivatorHair oil is great but when it’s coupled with an activator, it does wonder. We’re not talking about magically returning the volume you’ve already lost, but it’s an effective way of making sure the blood in your scalp is circulating in all the right places.
How will that help? Microneedling through this activator along with the hair oil will make sure the nourishment reaches your roots. This will boost the growth and production of collagen. You will actually start seeing darker and thicker growth and that’s a win if you ask us.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2545__
6. Hair SerumAfter you wash and towel dry your hair, take a few drops of hair serum and apply it gently before combing your hair. It’s a healthy alternative to oil that may and may not leave your hair feeling greasy and thin.
Along with the usual benefits such as natural shine, smooth and stronger hair, the serum has a growth-boosting formula that will only add to your attempts of keeping your hair from falling.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3107__
7. Oil ConcentrateTo put it simply, Oil Concentrate is a result enhancer. If you’re losing hair and lustre in an unbearable quality, it’s time to upgrade your formula. Add a few drops of oil concentrate to your regular oil. Massage it gently on your scalp and hair and leave it overnight or at least for a couple of hours.
Oil concentrate works actively to reduce dandruff and add shine to your hair.
__ECOMPRODUCT__3108__
The BottomlineHair fall is a real problem, not just for your looks but also for your confidence. One product may not give you the results you’re looking for but a combination of vitalisers can be a boon for your hair and scalp.
If you witness an uncontrollable amount of hair fall, consult a doctor for a more personalised hair care routine.
