Rishabh Pant proved his worth as a leader by guiding Delhi Capitals to the playoffs in the absence of the regular skipper Shreyas Iyer who was ruled out midway through last year's Indian Premier League (IPL).

Such was Pant's influence on the management that even when Iyer returned towards the later stages of the tournament, Delhi decided to continue with him as the captain of the side.
Pant's leadership qualities saw him being elevated as India's vice-captain in the absence of KL Rahul who was ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies.
Rahul and Axar Patel were ruled out of the T20I series and Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda were named replacements.
NEWS : Washington Sundar ruled out of @Paytm #INDvWI T20I series.

The #TeamIndia all-rounder suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the third ODI against the West Indies played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday.

On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Pant will be the vice-captain of the T20I team while revealing that Kuldeep Yadav has been added into the squad as a replacement for injured Washington Sundar.
After Pant's appointment as Rohit's deputy, Delhi Capitals took to Twitter to boast about the wicket-keeper batter's achievement. However, it backfired as fans used it as an opportunity to troll the 24-year-old.

Some highlighted his lack of performances in the limited-overs format while few said it is his connections in BCCI that is helping him to break into the leadership role.
Most irresponsible person you could choose for VC. Doesn't have a stable head on his shoulders which was evident from couple of recent first ball shots which drew so much criticism. Everything going downhill since Virat's exit as skipper, except Rohit's appointment.

    — aarush_msdian (@ripdevcric) February 14, 2022Pant will continue to lead Delhi Capitals in the IPL in the upcoming edition of the T20 league. But before that, he will participate in the decision-making process and help out Rohit during the West Indies T20I series.
Pant has not had the best of times with the bat in the shortest format of the game, and him getting included in the leadership role for the first time is a reflection of the faith the team management has in him.

Some fans and cricket experts are also speculating that Pant is one of the contenders to become Virat Kohli's successor in the Test format and take up the captaincy role in the longest format of the game.
India are set to take on the West Indies in a three-match T20I series, starting February 16. All three games will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

No offense Sir, just wanted to get this serious concern from recent OTT movies be reached across”.
Responding to the troll, he wrote, “I never ask my son how much is his earning from each project. So I can't answer your question. Next time when I talk to him I will ask him. But one thing I must say these days what I see around is young generation is freely using the four words. So people should not mind.”
Another troll tweeted, “You shouldn't have exposed him...the movie is the CRASSIEST launch of past decade”. Reacting to the criticism, he replied, “Papandreou apni apni.”

One troll asked the father to stop his son from writing further, “Tell him to stop writing immediately and enroll into a school.”

The father had a sharp response as he wrote, “Looks like the story went above your head. You need to study more to understand this type of movie.”

More than the players Chennai Super Kings (CSK) picked in the auction, it was Suresh Raina’s exclusion that has been making all the headlines.
The fans couldn’t believe a player who was their leading run-scorer and the most consistent performer for more than a decade would not be wearing the yellow jersey in the upcoming season after he was snubbed by the ownership .
Suresh Raina is on fire pic.twitter.com/vBIPbKivCy
    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 23, 2019
Barring last year, Raina was one of the key reasons behind CSK’s incredible success and many believed he had done enough to at least deserve a place in the 25-member squad, if not the Playing XI.

However, the CSK top management, including skipper MS Dhoni and head coach Stephen Fleming, had made their mind to move away from him and build a squad for the future.

    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) March 23, 2019
Explaining the reason why they didn’t think ‘Chinna Thala’ was fit enough to be a part of the squad, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that their decision was dictated by the team composition.
He even added that not picking a player who was their most consistent performer for over a decade was “very difficult” for them but their decision was in the best interest of the team moving forward.
“Raina has been one of the most consistent performers for CSK for the last 12 years. Of course, it was very difficult for us, not to have Raina but at the same time, you should also understand that the team composition depends on the form and kind of team which any team would like to have so that’s one of the reasons why we thought he may not fit into this team,” Kasi said in a video posted on CSK’s YouTube channel.
“We will miss him, we will miss Faf who has been with us for the last decade, that’s the process and dynamics of the auction,” he added.

    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 28, 2021
However, fans were not ready to buy CSK’s explanation for snubbing arguably their second most popular player. They felt that the real reason for snubbing Raina was not his poor form or lack of cricket, but something else.
    That's FIFTY for @ImRaina. Half-century No.37th in #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/6ewj19ajFu
    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) May 1, 2019
Giving the example of Test veteran Cheteshwar Pujara, who they had picked in the last year’s auction despite knowing he wouldn’t get a chance to feature in the starting XI, some angry fans argued that if they wanted they could have easily included Raina in their squad.
Another example they gave was of Krishnapa Gowtham who they had signed last year for a whopping Rs 9.25 crore but never gave him a chance to play.
Yeah form and fitness matters, but its so obvious that something happened between raina and csk management when he pulled out his name for personal reasons
    — Hari Krish (@HariKrish_D95) February 14, 2022ms dhoni has also not good form. So talking about form is just hiding truth what management talk. We all know he has and he will make come back.
    — Utkarsh Tamrakar (@itsut912) February 14, 2022Says the guy who bought Pujara just for fun. And bought k Gowtham without giving him single chance.
    — Anonymous_dude (@Jonas06784809) February 14, 2022Form ?. seriously ? Oh fu** at the beginning Rutu was out of form and he scored single digit score for 1st 4 match i guess! And They pick K Gowtham for 9+C and never allow him to play a single match. Nvr underestimate Raina for one bad season. He gave everything for #CSK
    — @®üπ ®j (@rj_aru) February 14, 2022Then why the f**ck u bought pujara last year
    — Kiran Kumar (@iamkiran2002) February 14, 2022They can buy Cheteshwar Pujara for SHOW OFF...

    But

They can't buy their One of the Match Winners for Years SURESH RAINA at Base Price #Boycott_ChennaiSuperKings#RainaForever pic.twitter.com/1NewpLjptY
    — KKR Bhakt| Wear Mask (@KKRSince2011) February 14, 2022Some fans even speculated if the decision was a result of what had happened two years back when Raina left the team’s bio-bubble in the UAE and pulled out of the competition due to personal reasons at the eleventh hour. Coincidentally, they had finished second from bottom that year – their worst season in IPL history.
And, here comes the FIFTY for @ImRaina. This is his third half-century in #VIVOIPL 2018.#RRvCSK pic.twitter.com/PjmRxMlBTe
    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) May 11, 2018
Rumours had it that Raina was not happy with the hotel room that was given to him and apparently had a fallout with the skipper Dhoni over the same issue.
Another reason why fans believe CSK management is concealing the true reason was the way they operated in the auction. They were the only teams that filled all 25 slots in their squad, leaving no place for Raina to make a late entry.
    Up & Away!@ImRaina has completed 200 sixes in #VIVOIPL and is the 7th batsman to do so. https://t.co/wpoquMXdsr #CSKvRCB #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/YZr1gxT7PH
    — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 25, 2021
At the end of the auction they were left with Rs 2.95 Cr in their purse but there were no slots left. They knew they would face severe opposition from the fans who might coerce them to sign him after the auction which perhaps explains the reason why they filled all their slots.
CSK perhaps had not forgiven Raina for what he had done a couple of years ago and it was their way of telling him who was the boss.
