Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan fans are already aware that the two had some issues going on between them. The friendship turned sour when Salman cracked a joke around Hrithik’s film Guzaarish and it was believed that it had got something to do with his tiff with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. "Arre, usme toh makhi udd rahi thi, lekin koi machhar bhi nahi gaya dekhne. Arre, koi kutta bhi nahin gaya," Salman had said at an event, and he was referring to the film’s box office collection.

Later, Sohail Khan, during the promotions of Freaky Ali with Nawazuddin Siddiqui also took a dig at Hrithik. At an event, Sohail was talking about how he stepped out of his comfort zone for this and he ended up comparing Nawazuddin to Hrithik. He spoke about Nawazuddin’s potential and mentioned how he could even stump Hrithik’s dancing skills with his hard work. "If Nawaz bhai works hard for three years, he can easily do what Hrithik Roshan does. But even if Hrithik works for 10 years, he won’t be able to do what Nawaz does,” Sohail had said, according to a Pinkvilla report.

Hrithik didn’t comment on this but he had indirectly addressed the Salman Khan controversy and in an interview with TOI said, "I’ve always known Salman to be a good man, someone I’ve looked up to and admired and still do. He’s always been a hero and always will be. But yes, it’s not heroic to laugh or make fun of a filmmaker just because his box office collections are not up there with yours. In my opinion a hero never gloats. When you are super successful, it should in fact make you more gracious and loving." Well said, Duggu!

After two days of rigorous bidding activities, a total of 204 players were bought by 10 IPL teams for a whopping sum of over Rs 551 crore.
The top three most expensive players were all Indians. Mumbai Indians broke the bank and spent Rs 15.25 Cr to re-sign wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, making him the most expensive Indian in the IPL auction history.

The second most expensive purchase in the auction was done by defending champions Chennai Super Kings who brought home their star fast bowler Deepak Chahar for a staggering sum of Rs 14 Cr.
The next most expensive player was Shreyas Iyer who was bought by two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 12.25 Cr.

These three capped Indian players went for a crazy amount of money but there was hardly anyone who had any complaints with their acquisition. In fact, many described Iyer’s acquisition as a steal.
That’s precisely because before the auction began, most experts had predicted three players to attract huge interest from most teams due to their specific skill sets. All of them are proven match-winners and that’s why team owners didn’t hesitate before going all out to sign them.

While their huge paychecks were on the expected lines, there were several other players who managed to attract huge bids despite performing poorly over the years in the league.
These were the cricketers whose signings proved that no matter how much time team owners spend preparing for the auctions, most of them get swayed by emotions while sitting on the auction table and end up paying too much for a player.

Here we take a look at five such players whose signings proved that the auction was dictated by emotions and not cricketing logic:

The young all-rounder who had a base price of Rs 20 lakh was signed by his old franchise SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 6.50 Crore. There were several other terrific Indian batters who went for much less in the auction but the franchise went all out to sign him.

The Assamese all-rounder Riyan Parag became a part of the league in 2019. Since then he has featured in 30 matches and managed only 339 runs at an average of 16.95. He has been equally poor with the ball as well, with only three wickets under his belt. He was re-signed by RR for Rs 3.80 Cr.
Shahrukh KhanShahrukh Khan misses out on a maiden 50 by three runs as he is caught at deep midwicket for 47 off 36 balls. A fine knock comes to an end.

The Chennai pinch-hitter played 11 matches for Punjab Kings last season but failed to leave any mark. He scored only 153 runs at a dismal average of 21.85. He was a complete flop last season but still his old franchise splashed Rs 9 Cr to bring him back to their setup.

Barring that Sharjah knock where he smashed five sixes off Sheldon Cottrell to guide RR home, Tewatia’s IPL career has been pretty ordinary. He has been part of the IPL since 2014 but has only scored 521 runs thus far in 48 matches, with just one fifty to his name. He is known for his power-hitting but his bowling has been more noteworthy than his batting. Despite all that, he still managed a bid of Rs 9 Cr from Gujarat Titans.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder was a part of RCB squad last year but only featured in two matches as the franchise preferred other overseas players to him. Still, Virat Kohli’s side took a massive punt on him and made him the most expensive Sri Lankan in the IPL history by splurging Rs 10.75 Cr on him.

Not every actor or actress can ‘stick to the script’ and multiple actors have a ‘no kissing’ clause as well. While it’s a personal choice, some actresses have changed the narrative and done bold scenes with élan. Here are 5 actresses who did some of the boldest intimate scenes in Bollywood and are remembered for doing it with sheer confidence:

    1. RekhaThe real OG when it comes to experimenting with roles and doing a fantastic job at it. At a time when actresses shied away from going bold, Rekha took up Aastha which told the story of a woman who gets into the flesh trade to fulfil the materialistic needs of her life. The movie had some bold scenes between her and Om Puri, and her with Navin Nischol.

    2. Mallika SherawatIn 2003 when she starred in Khwahish, she shattered perceptions of what an actor, male or female can do. Her intimate scenes in her next movie Murder opened doors for actors to experiment with scripts.

    3. Radhika ApteHer role as Lajjo in Parched was much talked about. Her bold scenes with Adil Hussain created quite a stir but the scenes were not vulgar in nature at all.

    4. MandakiniHer controversial debut in 1985 with the movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili and her scene while wearing a white sari under the waterfall raised many eyebrows back then.

    5. Zeenat AmanIn 1978, in Raj Kapoor’s Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Zeenat did what no actress could. At a time when movies were solely made for the hero of a movie, Zeenat as the lead actor stole the entire show and her scene in the wet sari continues to be remembered even today.

Amrita Rao, who is known for her performance in various hits like Main Hoon Na and Vivah, is currently away from films as she is busy nurturing her son Veer. However, she has also started a YouTube channel with her husband RJ Anmol named Couple of Things. In the Valentine's Day special video titled Can You Believe This? on their channel, Anmol has revealed that he had auditioned for Shahid Kapoor's role in Ishq Vishk which also starred his wife Amrita and Shenaz Treasurywala in the lead roles. Yes, you read that right!
    View this post on Instagram
In the video, Anmol has shared that both him and his sister went for the Ishq Vishk audition and were in an interesting dilemma and at last failed to bag the roles in the 2003 hit.
Revealing the same, he stated MTV was looking for fresh faces for the film back then. "When I reached the venue for the audition, the casting person saw me and said ‘he’s for the lead' and sat with the dialogues. In fact, I went there with my sister. She went to audition for the role of Amrita. When the script was given to us, me and my sister had a fight over what would happen if both got selected. We had even decided who would give up the role if both got selected--she would have quit while I would've been the hero," Anmol said.

He added that the makers finally cast actors with some experience in the industry instead of finalising completely new faces. He added, "Inhone hume bewakoof banaya yaar (they made fools out of us). Amrita was in an ad, Shahid was in a music video, established chehre le liye. Humara sapna wahi tod diya (they went for established faces and our dreams were shattered)".
Making fun of Anmol, Amrita shared that she was cast for the heroine's role without any audition. Watch the video here:

For the unversed, Ishq Vishk was directed by Ken Ghosh and turned out to be a sleeper hit at the box office. Fans loved Shahid-Amrita's onscreen chemistry and they were later cast together in films like Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Shikhar, and Vivah.
Coming back to Amrita and Anmol, they exchanged wedding vows in 2016 and welcomed their first child, son Veer, in November 2020.

There was a time, probably still is, when just the thought of being able to live with your partner would get you going…hard.

Of course, raised as Indian as we are, in the beginning, that only meant marriage. But as and when we grew up, we realized that just beyond a relationship and before marriage, there is a small (rather grey) window that people call a ‘live-in’.
Most people in Indian society have looked at the idea of a live-in relationship (after drugs, maybe) more or less like a stick of dynamite - explosive, and with maximum impact on both sides. And trying to neuter that explosion has been Bollywood, which has often painted the idea of living with your partner before marriage in the most idealistic and romantic way possible.

So, at a point, where on one end of the spectrum, people call a live-in relationship a stain on the social fabric of our culture and on another, where it is the most cherished experience of one’s life, here is a guy who is ready to call a spade, a spade and a live-in relationship exactly what it is - hard.

Arnav Sahni, 29-years-old, a lawyer and a loyal boyfriend of 10 years recently started living with his partner with the thought to ‘take the relationship to the next level, but not get riddled with the complexities of the big-Indian wedding, yet’.
    © Arnav Sahni
Talking about how he decided on moving in with his partner, Arnav said, “I had never stayed away from my family till now, no boarding, no hostel, never moved away for work. So, the idea of moving out was all the more exciting, however, marriage was not the option we were looking for, because that comes with a lot of responsibilities and a lot of changes. From attending functions to tending to families on each side, which isn’t really mandatory when you’re just dating, we figured that we were not ready to take that kind of responsibility upon us yet.”

And just in case you think it was easy on the parents, Arnav shares that it wasn't the case. He elaborated saying, “Of course, our parents went through a culture shock. My parents took it harder than her parents and that was surprising in itself. To turn around the Indian parents’ mentality of ‘itne time se date kar rahe ho, toh shaadi karlo (If you’ve been dating for so long, might as well get married)’ was a little tricky but we somehow managed to get there,” shared Arnav.

But what came next wasn’t straight out of a Bollywood movie or a novel.

“Before we had moved in together, a live-in relationship was like a fantasy. It was the stuff of dreams. But when you actually get down to it and practical nuances are added, you realize that your dreams don’t always translate into a similar-looking reality.”
“Yes, there are a lot of things that are just wonderful and make you feel secure and in love all over again. But there are also a lot of challenges that we didn’t anticipate facing as a couple."
    © Arnav Sahni
And highlighting one of the most overlooked problems, Arnav says, "Take getting distracted for instance. While people tell you all about how wonderful it is to be in your partner’s presence all day, try working from home with them, with ongoing arguments. It’s a do or die situation with a shotgun on the table, complaining about slow wi-fi.”

He went on to share that a live-in isn’t the piece of cake most people take it to be. It is a continuous process that he describes by saying, “People escape marriage and pick a live-in because they think it is not as much work. But a live-in is just as much work. The expenses, the chores, and having to do your own work because now you’re in a house of equals where no one is there to coddle you anymore, is all just the tip of the iceberg.”
    © Arnav Sahni
Stressing on one of the most crucial parts of a live-in, Arnav said, “The real challenge is to navigate some ‘me time’. When you’re living with your partner in the same house, in the same vicinity, it’s difficult to get the time you need to process your own thoughts and challenges as an individual. Me-time even in today’s world is rather underrated in a relationship, much like the health benefits of masturbating. Communication is the key to a relationship but the catch is to be able to comprehend your own thoughts and opinions when you need to.”

He also opened up about the kind of insecurities that die down when you’re living with your partner. “There is a paradigm shift when you start living with your partner. Sometimes you tend to go to a dark side and get insecure in a relationship, wondering where they are, what they’re doing, but when you start living together, that gets taken care of. There is a certain level of intimacy and security that you ascend to, as a couple. But at the same time, there is a boon and bane. While you don’t worry about being insecure, you do worry about getting complacent.” points out Arnav.
    © Arnav Sahni
Talking more about it, he said, “There are ‘fewer’ so-called date nights because your concept of date night changes to staying home in sweats and ordering in. And that thrill of dressing up, going out, booking a stay-cation is all subdued under the blanket of comfort. That’s when the concept of ‘taking for granted’ starts sneaking up on you.”

Perhaps, just like anything and everything in life, a live-in too comes with many strings attached. Ultimately, it may not be as romantic as Karan Johar may make it seem, but not as bad (or even at all) as the dated society may have you believe.
And at the end of the day, you need to keep your rose-tinted glasses aside to decide whether or not it’s worth it. Because as far as Arnav is concerned, he is all game! And the good thing is, he won’t be alone at winning, or at losing it!
