    Arjun Tendulkar once again, as expected, went to the five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians.Β Β 
    Arjun, son of legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was also a part of the Mumbai-based franchise last year but he did not get to play a single match as he was ruled out of the tournament midway due to an injury.Β 
    Even before his name went under the hammer, fans and probably all the franchises expected him to go to Mumbai Indians. However, scenes were different this time around as a cheeky bid by one of the new franchises saw Mumbai having to pay 10 lakh extra to get back Arjun in their side.Β 
    Arjun is ready to don the Blue and Gold threads again!

    Arjun had kept his base price at Rs 20 lakh and Mumbai Indians opened the bidding for him as soon as the auctioneer called his name. Ashish Nehra, head coach of the new entrant in the league Gujarat Titans, convinced his team's owner to raise the paddle.Β 
    After the bidding war started and Mumbai raised the bid to Rs 30 lakh, Gujarat backed out as the cameras showed Nehra and the whole Gujarat camp with cheeky smiles on their faces.

    Mumbai were left with only Rs 40 lakh when Arjun Tendulkar was called by auctioneer Hugh Edmeades and that is why when the bid for him reached Rs 30 lakh Aakash Ambani looked a bit tense.
    While some fans are calling out Arjun for being a product of nepotism, it is unfair on him that even without getting a chance to prove his worth, people are trolling him.

    Back in 1995, Madhuri Dixit starred alongside Sanjay Kapoor in the Indra Kumar directorial Raja. The film was a huge blockbuster and the songs, especially, Akhiyaan Milaoon Kabhi became an iconic hit.Β 
    Now, 27 years later, Madhuri and Sanjay took us back to the glorious β€˜90s as they recreated the iconic dance number recently at Dr Sriram Nene’s birthday bash.Β

    Interestingly, Sanjay Kapoor had also danced on the same song in the 2019 hit Mission Mangal.

    Besides Raja, Madhuri and Sanjay also worked together in the 1997 film Mohabbat. They are all set to reunite after 25 years with the Netflix series The Fame Game. In the show, Madhuri & Sanjay will be playing husband and wife.Β

    Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni were the two pillars of Chennai Super Kings for so many years. β€˜Thala’ and β€˜Chinna Thala’, as they were fondly called by the yellow army, were the most popular figures in the dressing room.
    Not just on the field, they were considered to be the best buddies off it as well and that’s why it came as a huge surprise when CSK decided to let go off their all-time leading run-scorer at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

    Raina, who had kept himself in the topmost price bracket of Rs 2 Cr, found no bidders at the auction. It will be the first time in IPL history he won’t be part of the tournament due to franchises’ lack of interest in him.

    There is an outpouring of emotions on social networking sites as angry fans are slamming the four-time champions and their skipper MS Dhoni for betraying his friend.

    Not just CSK supporters, the IPL fans in different parts of the world are disappointed that a player who had earned the nickname of β€˜Mr IPL’ through his consistent performances was overlooked by his franchise after just one bad season.

    Raina had announced his international retirement on the same day as Dhoni on August 15, 2020 when he was only 33. Last year, he had announced in an interview that he would not play in the IPL if Dhoni was not a part of the team.
    Talking about his IPL future last year he had said that he had four-five years of cricket left in him and hoped that he would get to end his career at CSK.

    β€œI have four-five years left in me. We have the IPL this year, and then two more teams next year. But I think I’ll play only for CSK till I play. I hope we do well this year,” Raina had told News 24 Sports.
    The 35-year-old cricketer had also said that if they won the IPL, he would try and convince his mentor Dhoni to play one more season.

    Who knew tables would turn so quickly after just one poor season and he would be shown the exit door by the same franchise that he called his second home for over a decade.

    As confirmed by the CSK CEO Kasi Viswantahan, their skipper and head coach Stephen Fleming had a massive say in the players they bought for the coming season. It means both Dhoni and Fleming were on the same page when the management decided Raina was surplus to their requirement.
    Look at the irony, a player who was making promises of convincing Dhoni to play one more season didn’t get a chance to bid a proper farewell. After just one poor season, he was discarded as if he meant nothing.

    In a way, Raina was a victim of his own brilliance. After scoring over 350 runs in every single season between 2008 and 2019, he finished under 350 for the first time in the last IPL.

    After missing the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons, he didn’t have the kind of the comeback many had expected of him last year as he managed only 160 runs in 2021.

    Many would argue that Raina’s exclusion was down to his own poor slump with the bat and the fact that he wasn’t playing any international cricket also contributed heavily towards it.

    Raina had been one of the most consistent players in the IPL history. Last year’s IPL was an aberration as he managed only 160 runs in 12 matches. Despite his dip in form, he still managed to outscore CSK’s talismanic captain which speaks volumes of the high standard that he had set for himself.
    Like Virat Kohli at the international level, Raina’s competition was with no one but himself. Tell me one player who scored over 350 runs for 12 seasons in a row and was subjected to such ruthless treatment.
