The second Test of the three-match series between India and South Africa saw the Indian opening batsman, KL Rahul making his debut as the captain of the national team after Virat Kohli has to sit one out to be a severe upper back spasm.
While Rahul has had leadership experience in the past four years when he was the captain of the Punjab Kings franchise in the Indian Premier League, he quickly realized that Test cricket is very different from the shorter formats and takes a lot more to turn the table in your favor over the course of five days.

To give credit where it’s due, Rahul managed to do fairly well considering the bowler-friendly pitch at the unpredictable bounce it was offering which forced almost every batter in the first inning to struggle a bit and give up their wicket without contributing a decent score.
However, things looked a lot better for the Men in Blue, other than Rahul, as some of the big-time strugglers of the team including Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkha Rahane were able to find their footings on the pitch and set up a quick 100-run partnership as well. Rahul, on the other hand, got dismissed for just 8 runs.
Pujara and Rahane had their backs to the wall. But The Wall had their backs all along. What a way to repay the faith. Vital partnership in the context of the game. #SAvIND pic.twitter.com/Ukr1oj9YLH

After India lost the second match with over a day to spare, former Indian batter and Ranji Trophy legend Wasim Jaffer expressed that he’d wished to see Rahane, one of the top candidates who may be dropped from the Playing XI soon, to captain the team instead of Rahul.
Jaffer went on to say that he was rather surprised to see that head coach Rahul Dravid and the team management present in South Africa approved the decision to have KL Rahul lead the pact instead of much senior and experienced Rahane.

Reminding people of Rahane’s achievements as the leader and the incredible victory he led Team India to, during the 2020-21 tour of Australia, Jaffer told Insidesport:
“I am surprised by the team management. When you have someone as good as Ajinkya Rahane available who has not lost any Test as a captain and won you a Test series in Australia, do you need to give the Test captaincy to KL Rahul?”

The former Team Indian cricketer also clarified that he has absolutely no problems with KL Rahul as a player nor the fact that he also has captaincy experience. All he wanted to see was Rahane lead the squad based on the years of experience he has had in this particular format of the game.
“I have nothing against KL Rahul. He is young and has captained the Punjab Kings. People are thinking about him as a future captain. But I think Rahane should have led the side in Kohli’s absence,” he added.

No matter how much we cringe in retrospect looking at old Dharma movies, there will always be a part of us that will remember its dialogues word for word and would want to recreate scenes from those movies every chance we get. And turns out, we aren’t the only ones who would do that.
Actor Ranveer Singh has proven he is just like us after he availed the opportunity of recreating an iconic scene from the hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with actress Kajol and Karan Johar, at the grand finale of his show - The Big Picture.
    View this post on Instagram
The actor and host welcomed the two ‘stalwarts’ of the industry as guests on his grand finale, with Karan Johar making his grand entry on a rickshaw, while Kajol walked in looking lovely as ever in red. The trio then spent a lot of time reminiscing with them how it was working on big films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Ranveer Singh, being the good sport and great actor he is, didn’t let go of this opportunity to enact the famous basketball scene with Kajol and even ended up playing a hand of ball with the actress.
    View this post on Instagram
This wasn’t the first time that the actor recreated such a scene with so much perfection, for a couple of weeks ago when the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham completed 20 years, Ranveer and Alia Bhatt recreated a scene from the movie where Alia played the role of Poo, and Ranveer played the part of Rohan aka Hrithik Roshan. Seems like, Ranveer really is growing a taste for Dharma productions!

Meanwhile, Karan Johar also ended up spilling a lot of secrets from the time of shooting KKHH, as he shared how Kajol was made to wear a headband in the film due to an issue with her wig, however, they couldn’t have guessed that the look would go on to become so popular at the time. Karan even made a pun on it by saying, “Kuch kuch galtiyaan iconic bann jaati hai!"
The grand finale is set to air on Colors TV and Voot on 8th and 9th of January.

We’re only one week into the new year and already, almost everyone I know went from ‘Happy New Year’ to ‘I have fever’ pretty damn fast. Riding the third wave - struck by either Covid or it’s variant Omicron, 2022 has had an infectious start, to say the least..
And if there is one thing that is keeping them going, apart from mindless social media  scrolling and binge-watching TV shows, it is a medicine that has acquired the status of a ‘sanjeevini booti’ among Indians - Dolo 650.

And considering Indians have been popping this pill as their current favorite snack, netzens decided to launch a meme-fest in its honor as they come up with hilarious memes for all the Dolo-users.

Hrithik Roshan, who is counted among the hottest stars of Bollywood, was last seen in Siddharth Anand's War. Also featuring Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor, the action-thriller turned out to be the biggest hit of 2019. Vaani played a small yet significant role in the film and her onscreen chemistry with Hrithik too was praised. However, did you know that several reports in 2018 claimed that before Vaani, Disha Patani had signed War? Yes, you read that right!
    View this post on Instagram
At that time, several reports linked Hrithik with Disha and claimed that she walked out of the film as the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara star flirted with the actress leaving her “uncomfortable”. While there was no proof in support of this claim, a section of social media users had trolled the actor.

Soon after, he took to Twitter and slammed the websites for spreading false narratives.
Posting the screenshots of such news articles, Hrithik blasted one of the publications by calling the story "garbage" and asked the writer to refresh his/her mind.

"थोड़ा gym जाओ। mind से सारा कचरा निकल जाएगा! ख़ासकर बीस donkey किक्स, बीस monkey रोल & 2 dog jumps आप के लिए सही रहेगा। ज़रूर कीजिएगा। गुड luck. गुड day. And लव you टू (Go get some gym time. All the garbage will be removed from the mind! Especially twenty donkey kicks, twenty monkey rolls & 2 dog jumps will be right for you. Sure do it. Good luck. Good day And love you too”, he wrote.

Later, Disha too clarified that the news of her walking out of War was not true at all. She even called the gossip "childish and irresponsible" and added that Hrithik has been one of the most "dignified and joyful" people.
    View this post on Instagram
On the film front, Hrithik is currently busy with the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Also, he is all set to reunite with Siddharth Anand for Fighter co-starring Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The much-awaited movie is said to be India’s first aerial action franchise.

While Disha was last seen sharing screen space with Salman Khan in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and currently has films like Ek Villain Returns, Yodha, and KTina in her kitty.

When it comes to Virat Kohli and the long-running batting slump that he is going through at the moment, everyone has an opinion and nobody is shy enough to not put it out there on the internet to get the conversations rolling.
Some feel that this is the end of the great batting career that Kohli had and that he will never be the kind of hitter he used to be in his prime, others feel that the Delhi-born is just one good inning away from getting back in the swing of things and dominating international cricket the way he used to a couple of years ago.
    View this post on Instagram
The Indian Test cricket skipper has been subjected to extensive criticism, speculated to humiliation from fans and analysts alike and smothered with questions about when and how he can come back to form during the various press conferences he has attended during this time.
However, most of these people have absolutely no idea what Kohli has been going through. Some of these critics have not even played a single game of international cricket, while those who have, have never reached Kohli’s level in batsmanship.
There are only a handful of people in the world who can truly relate to whatever it is that Kohli is suffering from and the Australian batter David Warner is one of them. A father to young children, with the burden of expectations of an entire cricket-crazy nation, who is expected to go out there and create marvels every single time and wronged by the team he had put so much love, affection and devotion into… both Warner and Kohli have a lot in common.
    View this post on Instagram
So when Indian journalist Boria Majumdar asked the Aussie hitter for his opinion on Kohli’s slump and all the discussions around it, Warner said that the Indian red-ball captain has earned the right to fail after being a force to reckon with for so long.
“You are allowed to fail. You have earned the right to fail when you are so good at what you do. People say Steve Smith doesn't score a century in his fourth innings because stats say he scores a century every four innings. He is human. You are allowed to have a rough trot. That is why there is a lot more pressure on those guys. But I would not feel the pressure, I guarantee that,” Warner said.
    View this post on Instagram
Warner also addressed the kind of mental changes Kohli has had to go through in the past couple of years. He became a father last year, had to undergo a pandemic and stay in quarantine for the better half of the year 2021.
“A lot of people talk about Virat Kohli's form over the last couple of years. We have gone through a pandemic. He has just had a baby. We only see how well he has done,” Warner added.

Sure, there were other cricketers who also had to go through all these things but different people react to the same things differently and all these changes have definitely had an impact on Kohli’s form.
Here's how Virat Kohli fans responded to Warner's take on the issue:
Having faught his own lean patch with bravity and élan, @davidwarner31 is actually the most suitable person to say so.
    — Prashant (@prashant2280) January 7, 2022Kohli has done a great job as a player as a batsman. He has led single-handedly to amazing victories. He deserves a lot of luv and respect and time too. 1.3b awaits his strong comeback. King kohli

Chris Hemsworth has not just become a household name today but he is one of the bankable stars of Hollywood. From his very first break in the popular Australian TV series Home and Away to wielding a hammer as Marvel Universe's Thor, Chris has come a long way in his career.

Before he became the popular Chris and stepped into the world of glamour, he was cleaning breast pumps. Yes, you heard it right. Allow us to explain here. In a True Confessions segment with Jimmy Fallon and Kumail Nanjiani, Chris Hemsworth revealed his first job was cleaning out breast pumps. He was just 14 years old when he was working at a pharmacy store and he had to clear and also repair these pumps when they came back to the store.

Speaking about his job Chris said, “Pharmacies would rent them out and they’d … come back covered in dry milk, so I’d have a toothbrush and I’d clean the dry milk.” He went on to add, “They would rent them out, the machines would come back, and I would have a toothbrush, a little spray and wipe…”
He also added, “It was repairing them as well, occasionally. Any pump, you know, there’s a motor with a belt, like a rubber belt for the suction.”
    Here’s the interview:

Chris has also been in news for his interaction with Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha wherein he shared his love for India. "I love India. We had an incredible time (filming 'Extraction'). I love the people and I love the food. It’s a very warm and welcoming atmosphere over there. We had thousands of people turning up to watch our shooting and cheering at the end of every take. It was like being on a stage somewhere. It was an extremely unique and special experience, which I hold very close to my heart and always will," the 38-year-old actor said.
    Here’s the interview:

In the similar interview, he talked about how the pandemic gave him the time to spend time with his family. In 2021, he picked up scuba diving as a hobby. “I have been really busy the last ten or 12 years, I worked consistently without much of a break. As tricky and challenging it was to be home for 18 months straight, I was also thankful to be with my kids, family and just be settled in one place. Even when I am working, that's what I am chasing- to find stillness and calm amid the chaotic work environment," the actor said.
On the work front, he is shooting for the sequel of Extraction.
