From making his debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year and not getting accepted by the audience to finally changing the mindset of his haters with his best performance so far as Vikram Batra in Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra has come far in his cinematic journey. He's being hugely appreciated for picking up all the mannerisms of Vikram Batra in his latest outing and rightly so.
View this post on InstagramInterestingly, Kangana Ranaut who had bashed Karan for being the flag-bearer of nepotism, took to Instagram stories to appreciate Dharma Production’s Shershaah . She even appreciated Sidharth for his acting skills in the movie.
In the first story, she wrote, “National hero Vikram Batra was a Himachali boy from Palampur, very popular and loved soldier. When the tragedy happened, news spread like wildfire in Himachal, it slid through our hearts. As a kid, I remember being tormented for days.”
In the second post, she added, “What a glorious tribute @sidmalhotra. Congratulations to the entire team. It was a big responsibility and you all excelled."

Kangana and Karan have shared a rather cold past. In one of the interviews, Johar had told Mumbai Mirror, “So much has been said about Kangana, me, and some kind of rivalry or simmering tension. But at every public event, we’ve met, we’ve greeted each other graciously. Whatever may have been said or insinuated in print, I think I’m too old and wise to hold any kind of malice in my heart for anybody. As a filmmaker, I respect Kangana’s talent, craft, and what she brings to the table. She is an actor who has proved her mettle and is deserving of the honour. Besides Ekta (Kapoor) and Adnan Sami, I am honoured to receive the Padma Shri alongside Kangana.”
View this post on Instagram On the professional front, Kangana will next be seen in director Vijay’s Thalaivi. The film is a biopic of actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa. In the film, while Kangana Ranaut will be playing the character of Jayalalithaa, Arvind Swami will be essaying the role of late Chief Minister M G Ramachandran. She will also be seen in Dhaakad following that.

Actress Ananya Panday has always been under scrutiny and has been subjected to trolls several times. She is only a few films old in the industry and already has a mammoth Instagram following.
But despite that, social media trolls never leave her and continue coming for in no matter what she says or does.
However, the actress has never let the trolling get to her and has always put a brave face and smashed the controversies out of her way. There was even a time when she was body-shamed for her physical appearance. And then again, being considered a star kid and the conversation around nepotism.
In fact, she reportedly even turned down admission to a prestigious college so that she could focus on her career in Bollywood. However, even this did not go well for her as she was trolled to be 'faking her academics'.

Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 Anjum Fakih Fees
We also remember the roundtable interview in which Siddhant Chaturvedi had also participated. However, his reaction to nepotism instantly became a hit on the internet.
Now, in a recent interview, Ananya recalled the incident and laughed about the previous conversation.
During the conference with former journalist Rajeev Masand, the newcomers in the industry were a part of the interview. Siddhant said, "The difference is jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi Inka struggle shuru hota hai."
This soon became a meme and people began trolling her mercilessly. Reacting to this on a show hosted by Janice Sequeira, Ananya admitted that she agrees and added that Siddhant and her were actually saying the same thing.
© Instagram/Ananya Panday
She added, "Basically, I agree. But also I think that Sid and I were kind of saying the same thing. Sometimes, in interviews, as you can see, I'm very overwhelmed. If I had to go back, I would probably change the way I said something."
© Instagram/Ananya Panday
She further said that both of them laughed about it later as they were close and had no weirdness about it. However, people made it a big deal, and it became meme-worthy.

In the old interview, when asked about the nepotism debate, Ananya had mentioned that her father had his struggles. She said, "I have always wanted to be an actor. Just because my dad has been an actor, I will never say no to an opportunity to act. My dad has never been in a Dharma film; he never went on Koffee with Karan. So it's not as easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle."

Ananya and Siddhant will be seen in a new project together. They are a part of Shakun Batra's project, and it also stars Deepika Padukone.

Day 2 of the third Test at Leeds between India and England turned into a serious controversy when the umpire removed the tape off Rishabh Pant’s wicket-keeping gloves shortly after he dismissed batsman Dawid Malan on a caught-behind.
Ahead of the third session on Thursday’s gameplay, match officials Alex Wharf and Richard Kettleborough made the Indian glovesman remove the tapes from his gloves which the cricketer had allegedly used to branch his fourth and fifth finger. This was in violation of the MCC laws.
Law 27.2 designed for gloves states as follows,
27.2.1 – If, as permitted under 27.1, the wicketkeeper wears gloves, they shall have no webbing between the fingers except joining index finger and thumb, where webbing may be inserted as a means of support.
Rishabh Pant has been wearing that tape on his gloves, that he removed after the Malan dismissal, since the second test at Lord's
— Ashu lone (@Ashuhassanlone) August 27, 2021
“There’s lots in the laws of the game about the webbing, but we’re hearing from the third umpire, Richard Illingworth, that he wasn’t allowed and he’s not allowed to tape his gloves like that, so they’ve asked him to take that tape off,” commentator Nasser Hussain revealed to the confused audience as the discussion took place in the middle of the Headingley Carnegie cricket ground.
The interference by the officials however has enraged a bunch of fans of the Men in Blue who call out biased umpiring especially after two of the English cricketers were excused and not even questioned for stepping on the ball with their spiked shoes during the second Test at London’s Lord’s cricket ground.
Rishabh Pant Lands In Controversy On Day 2 At Headingley; Umpires Ask Wicket-Keeper To Remove Tape From Gloves After Taking Dawid Malan’s Catch
So now India have to resort to cheating! Why wasn't Malan recalled to the crease when this blatant cheat was spotted by the umpires?

Mr Illingworth (@richardilly), were you licking this player's a** to leniently let him go for his mistake (and not showing his face) and reprimanding Rishabh Pant for the tape on his gloves? #Hypocrisy #Cricket #Umpirng pic.twitter.com/hYW8drf8cw

On Day 4 of the Lord’s Test, two English fielders were caught on camera kicking and stepping on the ball with their cricket shoes that have sharp spikes in their sole for better grip on the grassy ground.
Such an incident may very well have tampered with the natural condition of the ball. However, none of the on-field umpires, the third umpire or even the match referee raised a single question about it.
When the incident first took place, it was Virender Sehwag, who raised suspicion with a couple of images in a tweet. Furthermore, England’s injured pacer Stuart Broad had hopped on Twitter to side with his teammates and called it an innocent mistake.

Farah Khan has shared a new video with Shah Rukh Khan, in which they recreate a song from their film Main Hoon Na. The film was directed by Farah Khan and starred SRK in the lead role. Main Hoon Na was released in the year 2004 and impressed the audience along with a great box office collection.
Farah Khan took to Instagram and wrote in her caption, "With my Most favourite.. one & only @iamsrk there’s No1 like you.. #mainhoonna #farahkefundays."
In the video, SRK and Farah can be seen performing to the song Main Hoon Na with improvisations and SRK can be seen tapping on an imaginary wristwatch and recoiling in mock-horror as Farah approaches his face.
Check out the video here-

This video made many people go back in time and hit a wave of nostalgia. Ranveer Singh also commented saying, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh heart melt!!!"
Riteish Deshmukh commented saying, 'all-time favourite', and Sania Mirza's sister Anam dropped a series of crying face and heart emojis.
Here’s what the people have to say about the video-

Farah Khan made her directorial debut with the film Main Hoon Na and then the duo was again seen collaborating for the film Om Shanti Om, which was the acting debut of Deepika Padukone.
Not only this, the actor-director also hit a rough patch in their relationship when SRK was reportedly involved in a fight with Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder. During this time, she directed Tees Maar Khan – which failed miserably at the box office and starred Akshay Kumar in the lead.
SRK and Farah later patched things up and were seen together in the box office hit Happy New Year, which was her last film as director till now. SRK hasn’t appeared in any film since his 2018 film Zero.

The terror of the Taliban in Afghanistan reach new extent as two bombing attacks near the Kabul airport take the lives of over 60 citizens and 13 US Military troops who were in the middle of a massive evacuation from the country, according to a CNN report.
“We have to find a way to evacuate because our lives are in danger,” Nadia Sadat, a 27-year-old Afghan said in a report by the Associated Press. “My husband received several threatening messages from unknown sources. We have no chance except escaping.”
Watching his country suffer and his people in pain, the captain of the Afghanistan cricket team, Rashid Khan once again shared a heartbreaking tweet from his official social media handle in which he begged for the violence to end.
Kabul is bleeding again
STOP KILLING AFGHAN PLEASE
— Rashid Khan (@rashidkhan_19) August 26, 2021
“Kabul is bleeding again STOP KILLING AFGHAN PLEASE,” Khan wrote on the micro-blogging website.
Ever since the surge of the Talibani forces in the country, Khan has been voicing his protest against the bloodshed that’s happening in Afghanistan, while requesting the world leaders to not abandon them in the time of need and desperation.
Dear World Leaders! My country is in chaos, thousand of innocent people, including children & women, get martyred everyday, houses & properties being destructed.Thousand families displaced..
Don’t leave us in chaos. Stop killing Afghans & destroying Afghaniatan.
We want peace.
— Rashid Khan (@rashidkhan_19) August 10, 2021
“Dear World Leaders! My country is in chaos, thousand of innocent people, including children & women, get martyred everyday, houses & properties being destructed.Thousand families displaced.. Don’t leave us in chaos. Stop killing Afghans & destroying Afghanistan. We want peace,” he wrote earlier this month.
However, in all of his tweets, not once has Khan mentioned or used the term “Taliban” and people have begun to take notice of this pattern. As a result, they started calling the cricketer out and asking him to start naming the real culprits in his protests.
Why you never take name of Taliban??
Who is responsible for attacks in Afghanistan??
— DĦΛ₹ΛM ꪜ (@dharam23k) August 26, 2021
I don't know, who are you praying to, Talibans are not in Twitter. https://t.co/u2xfznCcP0
— बिसात कुमार (@BishatK) August 27, 2021
Why do they never Name #Talibans ? https://t.co/eqz29Uaske
— Sahil Mahajan (@imahajansahil) August 27, 2021
A word for the killer? https://t.co/0O6IjeUiyA
— The Eccedentesiast guy (@1Ritiksangal) August 27, 2021
Thankfully, there were some who understood Rashid Khan’s predicament and why he cannot take the Taliban’s name or revolt directly against them:
Why would he take their names ? His family is still stuck in Afghanistan. He is tweeting at least, speaking against bad thats enough, nobody can understand his situation....
— ☞ (@AbhinavDawande) August 27, 2021
Dude his family is still there. He has to save them too.
— Sharma ji da wadda munda (@ghost_spotter) August 27, 2021
With the kind of terror and chaos being spread in Afghanistan at the moment, it is rather commendable that Rashid Khan is still tweeting about retaining peace at his home, especially when he has his family and loved ones still trapped there. Taking their names would not only make him a prime target, it would also endanger his family’s lives.

While India and England are in the middle of a tough Test series, trying to establish their dominance in the longest format of the game, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar, and England’s Nasser Hussain have a battle of their own going on.
However, it was the latter who had decided to send a peace offering to Gavaskar through his former teammate Mike Atherton in the pre-match show. “I have come to offer peace from Hussain's behalf after what happened yesterday,” Atherton said while offering a smile to Sunny G.

Gavaskar laughed at this but made sure that both Atherton and Hussain knew that he wasn’t going to budge from his original take on the matter.
“I never took a backward step so I’m not gonna do that even now. This should be pretty much known to those who know me by now,” Gavaskar said.
What Was The Context Of The Fight Between Sunil Gavaskar and Nasser Hussain?

Heading into the third Test between India and England at Leeds’ Headingley Carnegie cricket ground, Gavaskar called out Hussain for an article he wrote for Daily Mail talking about the previous generations of Indian cricketers.
"You said this India will not be bullied as perhaps the previous generations would be. (I) Belonging to the previous generation, could you perhaps enlighten which generation? And what is the exact meaning of bully?" Gavaskar asked Hussain on live television.
"I just think, the Indian side under the aggression of the past, would have said 'no no no'. But what Kohli has done is to make them go doubly hard. I saw a little bit of that in Sourav Ganguly's side and he started that, Virat is continuing with it. Even when Virat was not there, Ajinkya (Rahane) really went hard at the Australians. I just don't think you want to wake this Indian side up," Hussain replied.
However, the Indian legend has dismissed everything Hussain had said and made argument for himself with statistics and numbers:
Nasser Hussain and Sunil Gavaskar involved in heated debate after "bullied" commentshttps://t.co/VUnBymCjuP pic.twitter.com/HhaJSjn8nC
— Mirror Sport (@MirrorSport) August 25, 2021
"But when you say previous generations were bullied, I don't think so. I'd be very upset if my generation was being talked about as being bullied. If you have a look at the record, in 1971 we won, that was my first tour in England.
"(In) 1974, we had internal problems so we lost 3-0. (In) 1979, we lost 1-0, it could have been 1-1 if we chased down 438 at the Oval (match ended with India stranded at 429 for 8).
"(In) 1982, we again lost 1-0. In 1986 we won 2-0, we could have won it 3-0. So, I don't think my generation we were bullied," he said.
Those who watched the episode unfold were not impressed with Gavaskar catching Hussain off-guarded and unnecessarily starting an argument based on is opinion:
I think Nasser is entitled to his opinion. And he was being grilled on an opinion piece. SMG also entitled to his but saying 'we could've won in '79, we had internal problems in '74 etc' was silly. It could have been light-hearted & respectful, instead it got serious & awkward. https://t.co/CxBK5j4R5t
— Raunak Kapoor (@RaunakRK) August 25, 2021
That was so unnecessary from Gavaskar, glad that Nasser Hussain reacted the way he did. https://t.co/9xjgnB92Tr
— Omkar Mankame (@Oam_16) August 25, 2021
Seriously Sunil Gavaskar is a grumpy old man. Fighting against Nasser Hussain at the start of the pre-match show on his recent article and it is quite unnecessary. You could have had a discussion in between the match but this debate was unnecessary @SonySportsIndia #Cricket
— Aryan Jain (@aryan_jain17) August 25, 2021
Hard to understand why Gavaskar is getting so hyper nowadays. Needs to calm down

PDA is a big no-no in India. Especially, if you are an unmarried young couple, you better hold your love and raging hormones until you are in a confined space because the sanskari uncles and aunties and the moral police would hate you for being all lovey-dovey in front of them. It apparently 'taints' our Indian culture.

If you’ve been in a public place, usually packed with families like a park with your bae, you would know the weird stares that follow you, even if you are just taking a walk.
Of course, there are people whom you spot making out behind a bush, but who’s to say they aren’t married, at least to each other?
© iStock
Well, to put an end to this so-called 'PDA menace', a public park in Hyderabad has decided to prohibit unmarried couples from entering.
The authorities of Indira Park, Hyderabad have put up a signboard that reads, “Unmarried couples are not allowed inside the park.”
© Twitter/Varun Grover
It could have said, “Please maintain decency” but it outright banned unmarried couples from entering at all. What if they want to sit and talk? Yeah, that’s not the park management’s problem.

Standup comedian Varun Grover brought the bizarre incident to the attention of people.
He took to Twitter to condemn the regressive move. “Why not make YET ANOTHER app to verify married couples wanting to visit the park. Can call it O-WIN. (*Orthodoxy-Win)”

Desis shook their heads in disappointment and wondered how on earth they are going to determine whether the couple entering is married? While some suggested getting their marriage certificate printed on the T-shirt, others questioned “Ab park jaane ke lie bhi shaadi karni padegi?”

Amidst this, some very talented and jugaadu people gave the ultimate solution to this problem, because that’s what Indians are a pro at.

However, it leaves us wondering about how in India, PDA by a consensual couple is against our morals while marital rape is legal and totally acceptable.
Also, you cannot kiss in public, but piss in public. Seriously?

Ishan Kishan has done well for himself as an Indian cricketer who is rising through the ranks to make a space for himself in limited overs matches. From his wicket-keeping skills to his ability to smash long boundaries, he is turning out to be an excellent backup for Rishabh Pant and the Men in Blue.
Earlier this week, Kishan got interviewed by the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of his practice for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in which he spoke about how he selects a bat before training. Whether he marks a particular bat which he feels the most comfortable with:
View this post on Instagram
“No, I don’t keep my bats marked to know which I’ve to use. But yes, I always know which is the one I have to pick. My debut bat is not with me here. I’ve sent it to SG because I want three more bats just like that to play with. If you own a lot of bats too, you get confused. You don’t know which to play with. Now I’m confused as to which bat to play with!”
“Let me just pick a new bat today, what say? All my bats have the text “Om Sai Nath” written on it because I believe in him. I ask them to put it on my bat because I like it, it gives me confidence.”
As it turns out, a lot of people are angry with the fact that Kishan believes in Sai Baba and did not think twice before blabbering their hate for the southpaw all over social media:

In the first half of the IPL, Kishan played in five matches for the Mumbai Indians while scoring 73 runs in 88 balls faced. With a strike rate of 82.95, he wasn’t having the best of the seasons in the shortest format of the game.
However, with the league getting disrupted due to a bio bubble breach, Kishan, along with all the other cricketers, got a break to rework their strategies and brush up on their skills. Kishan also got the opportunity to play for the Indian side during their tour of Sri Lanka and struck a half-century on his ODI debut.

Loopholes are a dangerous bet. Especially when we’re talking about them in the context of laws in our country, tip-toeing around which people can actually commit a crime and never face the time for it.
Rape, for instance, a heinous crime for which culprits are even hanged. But, when done within the 4 walls of a home and by a husband, it is turned a blind eye to, even by the Indian judiciary.
As is what happened (yet again) when the Chhattisgarh High Court discharged a 37-year-old man accused of raping his wife as the court observed that 'any sexual act committed by the husband against the wife, even if forced, does not constitute rape'.
‘*** with wife even by force or against her wishes not rape’, Chhattisgarh High Court acquits man on charges of marital rapehttps://t.co/vFD7ZCFctP
— OpIndia.com (@OpIndia_com) August 26, 2021
Judge NK Chandravanshi cleared the accused of charged with rape and abuse by simply saying, “Sexual intercourse or any sexual act by a man with his own wife, the wife not being under 18 years of age, is not rape."
This was in regards to the case where the complainant was married to the accused back in 2017, but soon after the wedding, she alleged that she was harassed over dowry, beaten by her husband and raped.
#NEWS: Husband having forceful *** with wife without consent is not rape, says Chhattisgarh HC. #FIIDailyEdit (1/n)

— Feminism in India (@FeminismInIndia) August 26, 2021
The Chhattisgarh High Court said, “In this case, the complainant is legally wedded wife of the applicant therefore, sexual intercourse or any sexual act with her by the husband would not constitute an offence of rape, even if it was by force or against her wish. Therefore, charge under Section 376 (rape) framed against the applicant husband is erroneous and illegal."
While the accused has been discharged of the crime under section 376 (rape), the court said he can still be charged under section 377 which bans *** “against the order of nature".

Meanwhile, the regressive judgement has created an uproar on social media where most people are calling out the judiciary for being sexist and terming the ruling as ‘atrocious’.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi tweeted, “Time has come for the Parliament of India to amend Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code to extinguish the legal shield to marital rape. Women who are married cannot be forced against their will to have a sexual relationship by their husbands.”

Neanderthals in India’s judiciary need to wake up. Hope this is appealed in SC asap.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra also wrote on Twitter, “Sexual intercourse by husband not rape, even if by force': Chhattisgarh HC Neanderthals in India's judiciary need to wake up. Hope this is appealed in SC asap."
First baby steps towards Talibanniisation of Indian women.
— #Just A Thought (@Rajvins21) August 26, 2021
Whereas some are even calling this judgement the beginning of ‘Talibanization of Indian women.
However, while most people are against the ruling, some stand right by it as they point out how it’s important to protect the interest of husbands who would be falsely accused, since there is no way to verify the wife’s claim.
Here are some of the reactions from the public:
Indian society remains deeply mysogenic and troubled. Not many, including many in the courts, understand Consent!https://t.co/UYjjlSA68X

A woman, especially a wife, can not have a choice.
She is a slave of her husband as the per this Chhattisgarh High Court Judge.

Why are judges in India are turning to be mullahs.
— Rajnish Rana (@Rajnish96866747) August 26, 2021
Why is everyone abusing the judge here?
Judges don't make laws. Politicians do.
In India, there is no law against marital rape. How is it the judge's fault?

All husband will have force *** today after reading this verdict
— Saffrony Yours (@SaffronHead) August 26, 2021
Context is everything
How can anyone prove or disprove such things??
Courts should see it in context whether there was any physical harm or abuse
False incrimination of hapless husbands, in-laws is more rampant than people realize

This judgement is at par with the Sharia law

The world of digital trolls is inhumane to the level that it can destroy someone’s image, but thanks to Neeraj Chopra’s honesty and sportsmanship, people who were spreading hate and islamophobia can now shut up once and for all. Neeraj has become a national hero after he won Gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After his win, he started getting way too much attention from the media outlets and general public.
He is the talk of the town and sadly, one of his statements created a ruckus on social media. The Indian athlete revealed in an interview that he had taken his first throw hurriedly after a delay as he couldn't locate his javelin, which he spotted in the hands of Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem later. After this statement went viral, people started to spread hate around it.
— Neeraj Chopra (@Neeraj_chopra1) August 26, 2021To put all this hate to rest, Neeraj took to social media to share a video and a statement that said, “I would request everyone to please not use me and my comments as a medium to further your vested interests and propaganda. Sports teaches us to be together and united. I'm extremely disappointed to see some of the reactions from the public on my recent comments.”
He also pointed out there was nothing wrong with Arshad taking his Javelin because there’s no rule as such. He also added that people shouldn’t make a big issue out of it.
As a person who’s getting all the fame and attention, it could have backfired but people called him gutsy for sticking to the truth. They also said if celebs start taking some lessons from Neeraj, it will be easy to stop this religious hatred. People hailed him for his video statement and felt that he is a true sportsman.

We completely agree with people in this regard.
Also, Neeraj has announced a break and said that he is skipping all the tournaments in 2021 and would be returning with full training for the 2022 calendar which includes the World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games.
View this post on InstagramHe wrote, “Firstly, I want to thank everyone for the love and affection I have received since I came back from Tokyo. I have honestly been overwhelmed by the support from across the country and beyond, and am short of words to express my gratitude to you all.”
He added, “The packed schedule of travel and a bout of illness has meant I have not been able to resume training since Tokyo and therefore, along with my team, have decided to cut short the 2021 competition season to be able to take some time off, recharge and come back stronger for a packed 2022 calendar which includes the World Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. I have been encouraged by all the support to Indian athletics over these past few weeks and would urge you all to keep supporting India and Indian athletics in the months and years to come. Jai Hind.”
We have the utmost respect for you, Neeraj Chopra.
