Hyderabad Park Bans Entry Of ‘Unmarried Couples’ & Desis Come Up With Brilliant ‘Jugaad’

PDA is a big no-no in India. Especially, if you are an unmarried young couple, you better hold your love and raging hormones until you are in a confined space because the sanskari uncles and aunties and the moral police would hate you for being all lovey-dovey in front of them. It apparently 'taints' our Indian culture.

If you’ve been in a public place, usually packed with families like a park with your bae, you would know the weird stares that follow you, even if you are just taking a walk.

Of course, there are people whom you spot making out behind a bush, but who’s to say they aren’t married, at least to each other?

Well, to put an end to this so-called 'PDA menace', a public park in Hyderabad has decided to prohibit unmarried couples from entering.

The authorities of Indira Park, Hyderabad have put up a signboard that reads, “Unmarried couples are not allowed inside the park.”

It could have said, “Please maintain decency” but it outright banned unmarried couples from entering at all. What if they want to sit and talk? Yeah, that’s not the park management’s problem.

Standup comedian Varun Grover brought the bizarre incident to the attention of people.

He took to Twitter to condemn the regressive move. “Why not make YET ANOTHER app to verify married couples wanting to visit the park. Can call it O-WIN. (*Orthodoxy-Win)”

Desis shook their heads in disappointment and wondered how on earth they are going to determine whether the couple entering is married? While some suggested getting their marriage certificate printed on the T-shirt, others questioned “Ab park jaane ke lie bhi shaadi karni padegi?”

Amidst this, some very talented and jugaadu people gave the ultimate solution to this problem, because that’s what Indians are a pro at.

They can go one by one

People outrageously opposed the decision by the park, post which, the sign was removed by the authorities.

However, it leaves us wondering about how in India, PDA by a consensual couple is against our morals while marital rape is legal and totally acceptable.

Also, you cannot kiss in public, but piss in public. Seriously?
