In a world consumed by technology, fast dating and rapid breakups, old-school love is rare. However, it isn’t dead.
Thanks to a few beautiful Bollywood tales, the millennial crop can learn a lesson or two about matters of survival of relationships.
Here are 5 movies that prove how old-school love can survive in this fast-paced millennial world:
1. Shershaah
Since this is the latest release on the list, this is also the first movie that comes to my mind.
The real-life love story of Captain Vikram Batra and his fiancé Dimple Cheema has become an inspiration for anyone who wishes to believe in the power and the resilience which lies in true love.
Waiting for your soul mate, writing letters to them, there is immense beauty in the simplest things in life.
2. Saathiya
Two people madly in love, coming from different backgrounds in life, with different ambitions, united by the love they have for each other.
Scenes like catching the same train to travel with his lover, finding a house and making a home out of it show how a relationship blossoms.
This movie shows the reality of what happens when a fairytale romance is taken over by the mundaneness of everyday life. You can sail through anything if you have love in your heart.
3. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge
There’s a reason why this movie has a cult following in the world of ‘old school romance’.
Flying across continents without a hitch, convincing your lover’s family and bowing down to her father if he says no. Do we see this level of commitment today?
The ‘jaa Simran jaa, jee le apni zindagi’ moment is iconic because when Simran runs towards Raj, the heart of every fan runs with her, cheering on for their love.
4. Lootera
Now, one might wonder that there is derangement, betrayal and hurt attached to this love story, but if you see the crux, this painful tale depicts how two hearts are secretly in love and will do anything to keep that alive, even if it is in their own heart.
Especially in the climax, how he seeks redemption to save his love by trying to put a leaf on a tree every day till he succumbs to the cold. Heartbreaking, but what a beautiful catharsis.
5. Hasee Toh Phasee
This is a very underrated movie when it comes to performances, music or even the storyline.
The guy is set to marry his girlfriend, and eventually, ends up falling for her eccentric sister, who is probably already in love with him.
The beautiful emotional bonding between Meeta and Nikhil’s character is the heart of this tale.

Your partner could check off everything on your list or nothing at all but if you love them, you will do anything to keep them in your life.
After you’ve been with someone for over a few months, you get to know their silly habits, their dreams, what makes them laugh and also their flaws that get on your nerves sometimes. Case in point, their overthinking.
© iStock
Dating an overthinker isn’t easy and would require more work and effort from your side to keep the ship sailing smoothly.
However, if you handle them and their obsessive need to overanalyze, well, it could be the most loving relationship, because they genuinely give two hoots about you and the relationship.
© iStock
Here is what you should and shouldn’t do while dating an overthinking partner who you love so dearly:
1. Get Better At Communication © iStock
No, this doesn’t mean you have to tell them every tiny detail of your day or how you felt seeing a puppy on the road.
But you have to build open and healthy communication when it comes to your relationship. If you feel something is bothering them, ask.
Have a clear conversation from time to time about what you want out of this relationship.
2. Reassuring Doesn’t Hurt © iStock
All an overthinker wants to know is if you still love them.
You might not be too good at expressing your feelings which could be the reason why your overthinking partner feels insecure and unsure of how you feel about them.
But telling them once in a while how you are crazy about them or miss them would help.
3. Don’t Say Anything You Didn’t Mean © iStock
“But I said it as a joke” is only going to make things worse. Overthinkers tend to find meaning in every word that spurts out of your mouth and would jump to conclusions.
If you don’t mean something, don’t say it. As simple as that. Or, make it clear then and there that you were kidding. You know, just to be safe.
4. Stop Asking Them To Not Overthink © iStock
Two reasons: it’s redundant. They are most probably still going to. And, second, it doesn’t make anything clear.
By saying this, you are simply dodging the conversation and telling them to let go of their inhibitions. Also, it gets annoying for them to be tagged as an 'overthinker' anytime they talk about their feelings.
5. Actions Speak Louder Than Words © iStock
You don’t need to speak a word of assurance, neither will you have to constantly tell them they are important to you if you show them you care.
Overthinkers tend to analyze situations and will make a field day out of revisiting how you made them feel in the past. Don’t give them a reason to.
Instead, make them feel special with your behaviour and romantic gestures.
An overthinker isn’t crazy or toxic. They just think too much. If you are willing to put in the work and deal with this one tiny flaw, you can have an incredibly happy relationship.

Whether you’re into fitness or not, you must have heard people talk about getting ‘leaner’ or ‘lean muscle’. But what does it really mean?
Isn’t being lean the same as being thin? Not really.
Being thin refers to a smaller size and does not consider body fat percentage at all. Being lean, on the other hand, means that you have lean muscle, i.e. muscle that doesn’t have a high amount of fat within or around it.
In other words, not all ‘thin’ people have lean muscle.
Why Is Lean Muscle Important? © iStock
If you think that building lean muscle is not a necessary part of fitness, think again. Lean muscle is densely packed with contractile tissue and can help your body be healthier in many ways. It will help your body be stronger, improve your metabolic rate, reduce the risk of injuries and is also good for your joint and bone health.
Tips To Gain Lean Muscle Now that you know what lean muscle is and why it is important, let’s discuss how you can become leaner. Here are some tips that will help you:
1. Strength Training Now this doesn’t mean that you have to go to the gym and start lifting weights. There are many different types of strength based training that you can try. From power yoga and HIIT to bodyweight training and resistance bands, there are plenty of options to choose from.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2117__
Regardless of what you choose, strength training needs to be an important part of your routine.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1702__
2. Get Plenty Of Protein Diet and exercise, both are equally important for fitness. If you want to see good results, you’ll have to focus on nutrition as well and taking care of your protein intake is the first step.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2042__
Make sure to up your protein intake, either through supplements or through foods. Protein is the building block of every cell in your body, including your muscles.
__ECOMPRODUCT__741__
3. Do Compound Exercises Compound exercises are exercises that engage multiple muscle groups at a time. This is not necessarily better than any other type of exercise, but is great for beginners who are trying to lose fat alongside gaining lean muscle. Compound exercises effectively combine strength and cardio in a single session.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2433__
4. Post Workout Recovery This is another extremely important factor for achieving your goals, especially for beginners. If you’ve recently started, the transition will be hard for your body. This is why getting the right amount of protein, sleep and nutrition is important for recovery. Recovery and repair is just as important as working out and challenging your body.

5. Modify Your Workouts Lastly, do not rely on what works for others and focus on what you like. Try different forms of strength based training and pick your favorite. You can take professional help from trainers and modify your workouts to suit your needs. In the end, you will only stick with it if you like it in the first place.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1200__
The Bottomline Building lean muscle and reducing body fat will help your body in more than one way. However, in order to achieve your goals, you need to stay motivated and consistent. Nothing comes without effort and if you’re ready to make that change, you need to start the right way.

Shah Rukh Khan playing the role of an obsessive lover is nothing new to most of his fans. If you have watched Shah Rukh Khan’s Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, you would remember how Sunil played by SRK was madly in love with Anna but she was in love with someone else.
Well, SRK’s character Sunny ignored it completely and desperately tried to ruin Anna’s relationship with her lover. He even manipulated her but in the end, he gave up the idea of pursuing her. Interestingly, the film ends with him meeting a girl played by Juhi Chawla.
In Darr, we saw SRK as an obsessive lover once again and this time around, he is seen trying to win over Kiran played by Juhi. He is ready to even kill Sunil played by Sunny Deol.
We might have missed the obvious connection here but a film buff Ankil Sinha recently took to social media to share an interesting theory about the two movies that have made people go bonkers.
He wrote, “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na makes for an interesting double watch with Darr. SRK in KHKN is also an obsessive lover who refuses to acknowledge that the girl is with someone else and resorts to manipulation, he’s just not there yet like SRK in Darr. KHKN ends with SRK meeting Juhi.”
He adds, “Controversy theory is that SRK met Juhi at the end of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and when he found out that she was also in love with someone else in Darr, he went full ‘enough of this shit’.”
Here’s the post:

Needless to say, fans kinda lost it after this theory surfaced. Here’s how people have been reacting to this crazy theory:

As Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa was released after Darr, it can be a sort of an origin story as to how SRK first met Juhi in the narrative.
What do you have to say about this theory? Let us know in the comments section below.

It would be safe to say that in Bollywood, almost every other movie is made with a plot that twists at least once. And if you’re lucky, then maybe several times, until you forget who is who.
Which is why, there are times when, as a viewer, you may get confused into judging who was really good and who wasn’t.
via GIPHY
Like in some of the popular Bollywood movies that we have grown up watching where we spent the better part of our lives believing we knew who the villain was, only to realise later that the actual asshole was someone else entirely. Someone we never could have suspected.
Here is a list of 5 Bollywood movies where the actual villain hid under plain sight and passed by right from under our noses:
1. Thakur in 'Sholay' © Sippy Films
From a toddler to our grandparents, everyone is acquainted with the iconic character of Gabbar, who is often used as an element of Bollywood folklore to put naughty babies to sleep.
And while he is one of the most feared villains in the history of the Hindi film industry, when you think about it, the real bad guy in the movie wasn’t him but the unsuspecting Thakur.
The guy didn’t just fail as a policeman by not catching Gabbar the first time, but also roped in two innocent guys and put several others in the village at risk all because of his ongoing ego-clash with the dacoit.
Not to forget the guy also had a hand (pun intended) in sabotaging the potential romance between Jai and Radha.
2. Anjali in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' © Dharma Productions
And by that, we mean on-screen Rahul’s daughter Anjali, not Kajol, who was simply collateral damage in the entire movie.
The little minx who was given way too much freedom and privilege by her father was the mastermind behind everything, for she planted the seed of love in the grown-up Anjali’s mind and also her father’s, both of who were doing just fine without each other.
The price of which had to be paid by poor Aman, who got nothing good out of being sweet to her.
3. Sonia in 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' © Filmkraft Productions
The woman who was supposedly the female protagonist of the film, single-handedly got Rohit killed by her father’s henchmen and when that wasn’t enough, found his doppelganger, lured him back to the country and even risked his life, all because she got drunk and jealous one night on a ship and sailed away in a lifeboat.
Had it not been for that spontaneous escapade into the sea, maybe her father wouldn’t have lost his calm and spared the poor guy’s life.
But no, Sonia was too busy recreating an episode of Lost.
4. Scientist Sanjay Mehra in 'Koi… Mil Gaya' © Filmkraft Productions
Played by Hrithik Roshan’s father, Rakesh Roshan, who played the role of scientist Sanjay Mehra lasted merely a few minutes in the 3-hour-long film, but did enough damage to make everything in the town of Kasauli come undone.
Too busy chasing after aliens, he runs his car into a tree making his pregnant wife a widow and his son differently-abled. All because he couldn’t look straight ahead and drive.
Also, his device ends up calling aliens to our planet, and absolutely nothing good comes out of it. Poor Jaadu gets left behind, gets shot at and has to live out his days in a dirty sack ffs!
5. Jazz in 'Namastey London' © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures
One would conveniently point fingers at and blame Charlie Brown for being the ultimate jerk in the movie, but if you think hard and long enough, you’d realise that the only one to blame in the movie was Jasmeet aka Katrina Kaif.
Her spoilt-rich-brat attitude led her to ruin two lives - Arjun (Akshay Kumar) and Charlie’s because she suddenly fell out of love from one to fall into love with another.
Not to forget, that too only after she found out that Arjun could too speak in English. Elitist much?

Most of us have grown up with taboo soaked lenses when it comes to discussing ***. In fact, a majority of our ‘*** education’ comes from anecdotal conversations with our peers rather than well informed and structured education about consent, safe *** practices and overall sexual wellbeing.
© iStock
Teaching everyone, regardless of age, about the importance of *** is essential. It isn’t solely the responsibility of parents, but of the government, schools and the medical infrastructure as well.
In a heartbreaking incident that transpired in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a 25-year old ended up sealing his urethra with an adhesive, thinking it to be sufficient contraception as they didn’t have access to condoms.
Police have begun investigations and according to their reports, Salman Mirza, aged 25, resided in the Fatehwadi area of Ahmedabad. On the 22nd of June, Salman and his girlfriend, accompanied by another woman, went to a hotel. The deceased and his partner have been reported to be addicted to hard drugs which may have also played a part in this fatal mistake.
© iStock
Having *** under the influence of drugs can be a risky proposition as the couple soon found out. The adhesive may have been erroneously used on his urethra by Salman Mirza as a way to avoid impregnating his girlfriend. No one can justify this as risque ***. Poor *** education as well as a drug-induced state may have essentially lead to the death of this youth. A report by The Times Of India states, “Since they did not have any protection, they decided to apply the adhesive on his private parts to ensure that she does not get pregnant. They were carrying the adhesive as they occasionally used it with whitener to inhale the mixture for kick.”
© iStock
The 25-year-old youth, Salman Mirza was found lying unconscious in the shrubs by a person known to him. He was rushed to Sola Civil Hospital as soon as his health worsened, before he eventually succumbed to his condition.
A case of accidental death has been registered after Sayrabanu Mirza, Salman’s relative, lodged a complaint with the police. According to police reports, Salman used the adhesive to block his urethra which may have resulted in far more grievous consequences than the youth had anticipated.
“We are waiting for the report on the deceased’s viscera sample that has been sent for forensic examination,” DCP Premsukh Delu told TOI.
We can’t possibly fathom what may have gone through the youth’s mind before they committed this blunder, however we hope it serves as a lesson for us and people around us to invest in *** education for all in this country.
