His performances, his candour, and his ‘no f**ks given attitude’ have set him apart from all his contemporaries. Yes, we are talking about none other than Ranveer Singh who’s not only famous for his powerful performances but his eccentric sense of fashion. He literally can pull off anything, even the infamous ‘sperm’ outfit.
He has always been in the news for his dressing sense and this time is no different. A number of videos from Ranveer Singh's mother Anju Bhavani's birthday bash have found their way online and trust Ranveer to add his spark to all the gatherings he is a part of. He is seen grooving to many Bollywood chartbusters but more than his dance moves, his ‘banyan’ has become the talk of the town.
Don’t believe us? Watch these videos:

After the videos went viral, people started trolling him and made fun of the actor dancing his ‘banyan’. Some even said that he was literally advertising Rupa Frontline inner-wear. Others said that the waiter behind him was more gentleman-like than him.
    Here are the reactions:

Well, you genuinely need the guts to do this knowing the fact that you’re a public personality and are always under the radar of trolls. We didn’t feel that he needed to be trolled for choosing how he wanted to enjoy his own mother’s party.

We wonder how Ranveer would react to this.
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film, which is a remake of the Tamil film Anniyan, recently got into a copyright controversy. Tamil producer Aascar Ravichandran has taken legal action against director Shankar and producer Jayantilal Gada over the remake of his film Anniyan.
Anniyan, starring Vikram in the lead role, revolves around a person with multiple personality disorders and his own brand of social justice.

Shershaah is a brilliantly made movie and fans attest to that.
Although no form of storytelling can really do justice to our nation's war heroes who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil war, Shershaah still lives up to the mark in bringing the late Captain Vikram Batra to life onscreen.
The film left the audience hooked throughout and teary-eyed in the end.

Sidharth Malhotra, who played the role of the heroic Indian Army officer, and the makers of the film have been basking in the success and have been receiving a lot of compliments and applause not only from the fans but also the biggest stars in the industry.

The latest one to add to the list of admirers of Shershaah is superstar Kamal Haasan.

The veteran actor took to Twitter to praise the authenticity of the film and how it showed the Indian Army and its soldiers in the most accurate way.

He wrote, “Right from my childhood as a film fan and a patriot's son I resented the way Indian army was depicted in some of our Cinemas. Shershaah is that exception that makes my chest swell with pride for my soldiers.”

In a subsequent tweet, he thanked Dharma Productions (Karan Johar’s production house) for giving the director of the film Vishnuvardhan a chance, and also congratulated the actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani for their great work in the film.
“Thanks @DharmaMovies for promoting a talented director like @vishnu_dir. Congrats  @SidMalhotra and @advani_kiara , excellent work,” he wrote.

Haasan is the son of D. Srinivasan who was a criminal lawyer and a freedom fighter.

When the superstar says the portrayal of the Indian Army has been flawed in Indian cinema, he is not wrong.
There have been multiple instances where some of the movies based on the Indian Army have got it wrong. The military uniforms, ranks of officers and even the depiction of how soldiers are supposed to carry themselves (clean-shaved and neat haircut) has been taken for granted in several movies.

Shershaah gets all of that and more absolutely right and tells the tale of the braveheart Captain Vikram Batra and his team, flawlessly.

The Chehre actor is expected to join the cast and the crew in Russia soon, and rumour has it that he will be playing the antagonist in the movie.
Another big news attached to the release of this movie is that, as per some reports, the introductory scene alone for Emraan in Tiger 3 will cost the production house a whopping Rs 10 crores.
Neither the actor nor the production house has confirmed this development, but since the level of action sequences are already expected to be on a grand scale, this news would not really be a surprise.
The movie will also have Shah Rukh Khan's character from Pathan character play a small cameo, according to reports.
Well, the excitement around this film is only increasing with time.

Manoj Bajpayee’s journey in the film industry has been one of the most inspiring stories so far. He has been the role model for many other actors who see him as their mentor. He was the one who paved the way for people who didn’t have any connections or any godfather in the industry.
View this post on InstagramActors like Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and many others have gone on record to say that they have followed in the footsteps of Manoj Bajpayee, and if it wasn’t for him, they wouldn’t have had that courage to walk all alone.
View this post on InstagramThat's why it was kind of surprising to know that Manoj Bajpayee had stated that he is envious of the actors mentioned above. When Spotboye reached out to him, Manoj clarified why he had said so while also stating that he was not jealous of anyone.
He said, “I didn’t mean I envied them for their talent. Of course, they are all talented and it is my good fortune that they all respect me so much. I think they are fantastic actors. But I am not jealous of any actor in the world. Because I am happy with what I have, and I want to maximize my potential before I get older.”
Further clarifying why he envied the other actors Manoj Bajpayee said, “They have time on their side. Success and a kind of stardom have come early to them whereas I am now in my 50s. I've got some years to go. But I don’t want to overstay my welcome. Before the audience gets bored of me I want to do good work. These are my best years,” said the Satya actor.
    View this post on Instagram
He also went on to add that he will quit when he will start to feel that the audience is getting tired of him and before that happens, he wants to maximize his efforts.
He said, “Before the audience gets tired of me and I get tired of facing the camera I want to retire, do the things I couldn’t because of my jam packed schedules, travel to places I haven’t seen, spend time with my family, watch the films that I’ve been lining up for years. Yes, there is life beyond cinema for me. But later.”
View this post on InstagramNeedless to say, it's been an incredible feat for Manoj Bajpayee to have successfully survived in this ruthless industry for over 26 years. And we respect him for doing it all alone without any support.

Manoj Bajpayee has been part of the Bollywood industry for over 30 years now.
The insanely talented actor has always maintained how he learned over these years to not let his professional achievements or failures define him as an artist.
Manoj Bajpayee's latest project, The Family Man season 2 received massive praise.
    View this post on Instagram
He recently told PTI, “It's been 26 years in the industry and I have been through so many emotions, excitement, success, and failures. All this has just become a part of my life. They don't define my craft or me as an actor or person. I'm a realist and don't get swayed by success or depressed by failures.”
Manoj, who plays the role of a middle-aged investigation agent in the series, further said, "Audience expectations are welcome, they should expect good work from me as I also do the same from myself. I believe in having strict discipline and doing a good job every time I step out to work. But I don't feel compelled by the expectations.”

"When I choose a project, I always look for what new things I can offer as a performer and how I can make this whole experience unique for myself. And if I'm excited about something I'm doing, that excitement gets transferred to the audience. This is what I'm known for and people's appreciation has proved that I'm on the right path," he further elaborated.
He also said that it is an honour for him that now the series is among the 'four most popular shows in the world'.
    View this post on Instagram
“It's so amazing that a series which started in 2019 is still going and creating so much buzz all over the world. It's among the four most popular shows in the world and we are getting so much honour because of this series. It's so humbling," he added.

The Karnataka government has asked IT firms in Bengaluru to extend the work from home policy till the end of the year. While you may think this might be related to the pandemic, the actual reason is entirely different. The Karnataka government has asked IT companies with offices on Outer Ring Road (ORR) or Bengaluru’s IT corridor to extend work from home till the end of December 2022 so that they can work on the Metro rail construction.
The request comes from the department of information technology, biotechnology, science & technology as the soon-to-be initiated Metro rail construction from Silk Board to KR Puram is about to begin. The metro line will go all the way to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

“We would like to bring to your notice that BMRCL (Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited) is starting metro construction works on Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Central Silk Board to KR Puram and the construction of the same could extend to about 1.5 to 2 years. The ORR houses many large Tech Parks and IT company campuses and carries [a] large amount of traffic throughout the day. The ORR, despite having 6 lanes and service roads, is infamous for its perennial traffic congestion,” EV Ramanna Reddy, the additional chief secretary, IT/BT, S&T department said in his letter to the regional director of NASSCOM.

IT firms in Bengaluru were amongst the first companies in India to implement work from home policies when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in the country. However, many of the companies are planning to resume office in the wake of reduced COVID-19 cases in India.

However, the department argues that extending WFH till the end of the year will ultimately benefit IT companies. “IT companies especially located in ORR, would extend the work from home option for most of the employees till December 2022, and/or the IT parks/companies may be advised to stagger the working hours for those employees working physically at office.”

The department also requested companies that wish to resume working from office to ask their workers to use company or public buses to reduce the congestion. "We request you to circulate this advisory to IT companies located on ORR so that infrastructure development activities are carried out smoothly, which would also ease out traffic congestion in future,” Reddy said.

Throughout the Lord’s Test in the ongoing 5-match Test series between England and India, one thing that was common in almost every Indian player was the aggressive mindset with which they played the match. There were several instances during the game when Virat Kohli and several other Indian players were involved in verbal arguments with their opponents.
The English players deployed sledging tactics thinking they would get under the skin of Indian players but nothing of that sort happened. In fact, in the end, it was England who got caught up in their own tactics and failed to deliver the knockout punch on the final day, allowing the game to drift away from their grasp.
    © Reuters
After losing the Lord’s Test, England head coach Chris Silverwood had said that they would not be scared of a “little bit of a fight” and would match India’s aggression in the upcoming matches.

“The one thing we’re not scared of is a little bit of a fight. They push us, we push back, to me it creates great Test cricket. We’re disappointed with the result, but what a Test match to watch. There has been a little bit of fire in there, emotion from two sets of proud players representing their country. I think it’s great, the guys are getting stuck into this fight and I’m enjoying it,” Silverwoood had said after the second Test.
    © Reuters
However, former England skipper Nasser Hussain thinks it’s easier said than done because there is nothing Joe Root’s side can do to bully this Indian team.

“Nothing England can do will bully them now even if Chris Silverwood has said he will fight Indian fire with fire for the rest of this series,” Hussain wrote in his Daily Mail column.
    © Reuters
“This India are not a side who will be bullied, as perhaps previous generations have been. They wouldn't allow themselves to be bullied by Aussie players or crowds — when Tim Paine said, "Wait until we get you to the Gabba", it just spurred them on,” he added.

Hussain feels Kohli’s leadership has been instrumental in this massive turnaround because he encourages his players to be aggressive on the field at all times and often leads by example, like how he did at Lord’s.
    © Reuters
“Virat Kohli is the right man at the right time to lead this formidable India side. His players, in particular the bowlers, want an aggressive captain. They want Kohli stirring things up, as he did so effectively in that brilliant second Test at Lord's,” said the English legend.

The third Test begins on August 25 (Wednesday) and we hope England have learnt their lesson and won't try to intimidate Indian players because if they do they would continue to play into India's hands.

As Indians, we take pride in our love for Cinema, with Bollywood being one of the biggest film industries in the world, not to forget the multiple successful regional film industries we boast of as well. All in all, it’s been a good time to be a cinema goer if you’ve lived in India.
What isn't recent is our proclivity for the theatre experience. The romance of watching your favourite films on the big screen is incomparable to most. Before the pandemic hit us, weekend cinema was a ritual for many in the country. Throngs of families scurried with their little ones into halls, with plush, red, reclining chairs, scattered popcorn and a wondrously massive screen to witness the magic on.
Ladakh, often known as the land of high passes, is one of the most spellbinding destinations in this country. As scenic as it may be, it is equally remote and hostile to inhabit. Ladakhis who live there have learnt to live with these harsh climatic conditions. Their realities, however, come at a certain cost.
    © Reuters
However, In some much needed good news, the union territory of Ladakh can now claim to be home to the world’s highest, mobile, cinema halls at a height of 11,562 ft. The moving cinema hall offers digital movie screening on a big screen. It’s also Dolby 5.1 surround sound with DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) compliance available. All of this is housed in an inflated enclosure that holds the capacity to house 150 people. However, presently the audience count will be limited to 75 due to COVID-19 protocols.

    © Reuters
The people of Ladakh can finally enjoy the magic of cinema halls, thanks to Picturetime Digiplex. Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of the company says: “The vision has always been to reach out to the Entertainment dark spots of this country. Ladakh had been missing out on a big cinema screen for quite some time and I always wanted to bring in a multiplex cinema watching experience for the people here. I am so grateful to the Government of Ladakh for having faith in us. We aim to install two fixed cinema screens and one moving cinema screen in Ladakh in the next thirty days, and the citizens of Ladakh shall have access to newly released films as well.”

Ladakh has historically been a well frequented location for several Bollywood films such as Lakshya, Dil Se, Tubelight and most popularly 3 Idiots. But it’s taken far too long for the locals to experience the magic of seeing their enchanting home on the silver screen first hand.
    © Reuters
The chief guest and guest of honour for the unveiling on Sunday at NSD Grounds, Ladakh were Thupstan Chewang, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association and actor Pankaj Tripathi.

The moving theatre means a lot to local Ladakhis as explained by Thupstan Chewang, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association: “It has always been a very popular destination for film shoots. As you all know, Ladakh is one of the most secluded parts of the country. We are mostly cut off from the rest of the country half the year, so having a source of entertainment in the form of cinema is of great value to all of us.”
He added, “After the pandemic it became all the more difficult for people to come out of their homes and even though through the digital medium people had access to entertainment. We hope that through these inflatable moving theatres we get to watch all the good and latest content that is being made.”
    © Reuters
Actor Pankaj Tripathi also had some kind words to share,“What a beautiful initiative. Cinema reaches people in the interiors of this country. For someone like me who belongs to the film world, this comes across as such a unique and different means of film exhibition – ‘A Moving theatre’. Having a concept like this in a gorgeous location such as Leh, is absolutely incredible.”

‘Sekool’, a film by Stenzin Tankong about the Changpa Nomads Of Ladakh was screened at the launch to rapturous applause.
This moving theater will undoubtedly introduce magic to the lives of many cinema loving Ladakhis.  And we couldn’t be happier.
