Shershaah is a brilliantly made movie and fans attest to that.
Although no form of storytelling can really do justice to our nation's war heroes who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil war, Shershaah still lives up to the mark in bringing the late Captain Vikram Batra to life onscreen.
The film left the audience hooked throughout and teary-eyed in the end.

Sidharth Malhotra, who played the role of the heroic Indian Army officer, and the makers of the film have been basking in the success and have been receiving a lot of compliments and applause not only from the fans but also the biggest stars in the industry.
The latest one to add to the list of admirers of Shershaah is superstar Kamal Haasan.

The veteran actor took to Twitter to praise the authenticity of the film and how it showed the Indian Army and its soldiers in the most accurate way.
He wrote, “Right from my childhood as a film fan and a patriot's son I resented the way Indian army was depicted in some of our Cinemas. Shershaah is that exception that makes my chest swell with pride for my soldiers.”

In a subsequent tweet, he thanked Dharma Productions (Karan Johar’s production house) for giving the director of the film Vishnuvardhan a chance, and also congratulated the actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani for their great work in the film.
“Thanks @DharmaMovies for promoting a talented director like @vishnu_dir. Congrats @SidMalhotra and @advani_kiara , excellent work,” he wrote.

Haasan is the son of D. Srinivasan who was a criminal lawyer and a freedom fighter.
When the superstar says the portrayal of the Indian Army has been flawed in Indian cinema, he is not wrong.
There have been multiple instances where some of the movies based on the Indian Army have got it wrong. The military uniforms, ranks of officers and even the depiction of how soldiers are supposed to carry themselves (clean-shaved and neat haircut) has been taken for granted in several movies.

Shershaah gets all of that and more absolutely right and tells the tale of the braveheart Captain Vikram Batra and his team, flawlessly.
