At 17, people are hardly able to balance their studies, their internships, and their college applications. For actor Ashnoor Kaur, all of this apparently, is a piece of cake.

The actor, who has been a part of some of the most successful TV shows, like Jhansi Ki Rani, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Patiala Babes, along with movies such as Sanju & Manmarziyaaan, has scored a pretty great 94 per cent in her class 12th CBSE Board exams.

Not just that, two years ago, she had scored a pretty respectable 93 per cent in her 10th Board - all the while balancing her education with some really coveted projects.

Speaking to a national daily, she said that she is elated, nice and accomplished.
She also spoke about her upcoming plans. She said she has a few projects in hand, but her main focus right now is to get into a college. "I wish to pursue BMM and focus on my studies. For my masters, I might go abroad. Apart from acting, I also want to learn filmmaking and direction,” she said.

She also revealed that as a treat to herself, she has booked her dream house. “I have booked a new house and it is my dream house. It is under construction. It feels good as it reflects that you are growing up, doing things on your own.” “The house will be ready by next year first half,” she added.

Her friends and fans took to Twitter to congratulate her, and to ask her to get the show, Patiala Babes, back on the network.

She has never been back in academic achievements. Scored 93% in 10th while shooting for PB & now 94% during pandemic. IT ISN'T EASY AT ALL. She did this while having a job, an entire career. She is really special

    — Unique Mineil (@MiNeil_SouNoor July 30, 2021Earlier, Ashnoor was one of the most vocal proponents of having the board exams postponed because of the pandemic. She had expressed gratitude after the board exams were cancelled in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic's second wave. “It wasn’t that we didn’t want to appear for the exam. We did and were preparing for it all year.”

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has decided to take an indefinite break from cricket with immediate effect to focus on his mental well-being and give rest to his injured index finger.
The amount of pressure the international cricketers deal with while playing at the highest level is hard to comprehend for any of us and the coronavirus pandemic has made the situation even worse, forcing the players to live in strict bio-secure bubbles for several months at a stretch.
    © Reuters
The last year or so has been hard on everyone across the globe but more so for these athletes who have, in a way, put their physical and mental well-being at risk just to entertain us in these trying times.

Take for instance, after losing his father to brain cancer last year, Stokes couldn’t even mourn his loss properly and turned up for his franchise Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020.
    View this post on Instagram
Barring a few breaks here and there, the English all-rounder has been playing non-stop cricket ever since and it certainly has taken a toll on his body -- both physically and mentally. And now he took a brave decision to come out in the open and talk about the hardships he has been going through mentallly.
"Ben Stokes has withdrawn from England's Test squad ahead of the Test series against India starting next week to prioritise his mental wellbeing and to rest his left index finger, which has not fully healed since his return to competitive cricket earlier this month," read an ECB statement.
    Official Statement: Ben Stokes
    — England Cricket (@englandcricket) July 30, 2021
"The ECB fully supports Ben's decision, and we will continue to help him during this period away from the game," it added.
In the last few months, we have seen star athletes like Naomi Osaka and American gymnast Simone Biles withdrawing from various competitions citing their mental well-being, which has made more and more people aware that mental fitness is as important as physical fitness.
    © Reuters
It’s quite surprising that in a country where cricket is followed like a religion, we have not seen many Indian cricketers coming out in public and initiating a discussion around this.

After Stokes’ announcement, Shreevats Goswami, who plays for SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL, took to the micro-blogging site and raised some serious points, explaining as to why Indian cricketers don’t take mental health breaks and never speak about it.
    Taboo © Reuters
Players like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli had to deal with depression at some stage in their career but they kept mum about it and let their body suffer, which only shows that the issue is still considered to be a taboo and no one wants to speak about it.

    Lack Of Awareness © Twitter/ICC
There is a serious lack of awareness about mental health in the country and people are afraid to speak up thinking what others would think of them if they address the issue in public. In most cases, players find it difficult to differentiate between pressure and stress and ignore the signals.

    Insecurity © Reuters
In a country where millions play the sport, the competition is immense and breaking into the national team is not an easy job, hence nobody likes to give up their spot. The insecurity dictates their decision-making and they don’t take a break, thinking someone else might occupy their place and make it his own.

Stigma Dealing with pressure is an important part of international cricket and players are often afraid that if they raise the mental health issue they might be labelled as weak and unfit to play at the highest level.
Online TrollingWhile most Indians appreciate when an overseas cricketer takes a mental health break, they wouldn’t be equally supportive of an Indian player asking for such a hiatus because they want to see their top cricketers play every game. The online trolling is another big issue that forces a player to shut their mouth and continue their struggle.
    © Reuters
Athletes are not robots, they are also humans like most of us and go through the same emotions that we do. In fact, the weight expectations they carry on their shoulders is enough to make any of us crumble but continue to do their job with full sincerity and conviction.

One thing is clear that living in a bio-bubble is not everyone’s cup of tea which can drain anyone mentally and it’s high time that we acknowledge this. The onus is also on the BCCI to create awareness about mental health and provide players with a sense of security, like the way ECB did with Stokes and Cricket Australia did in Glenn Maxwell’s case last year.

There’s a certain comfort to staying at home that brings out the best in people. Our surroundings are familiar, we’re safely tucked within the four walls of our homes, away from the prying eyes of the public.
Pre 20201, many of us wouldn’t have even imagined that we’d be hit by a pandemic of such proportions. An event that has and will continue to change our lives forever. Working from home has been one such change.
We’ve realized that we can still get the job done, without compromising our work. No longer are we bothered by the added bells and whistles of constant supervision found in the Indian workplace. So, naturally, as people get increasingly comfortable with these scenarios… they also tend to take certain leverages.
Here are 7 Scandalous confessions of people who have been working from home for over a year now:
    1. Nap Attack  © iStock
“At my previous job, I’d end up taking quick power naps throughout the day. Things were dull,  so I  used to take a quick shut-eye before heading to my next commitment.” - Avni, 26 *

    2. Binge Hero  © iStock
“A friend of mine goes through different series on Netflix and Prime during her work hours. Somehow, she’s able to concentrate on both things at the same time, and she ends up breezing through 5-10 episodes a day. It’s her superpower.”- Munbir, 24 *

    3.  Food O’ Clock  © iStock
“Since nobody’s watching me anymore, I eat when I want and I’ve found myself feeling healthier. I’ve always been a muncher. It keeps me energized throughout the day. But, I never felt comfortable doing that at work without intrusive glares and questions from my managers.”- Iqbal, 31 *

    4.  Day Drinking  © iStock
“I’ll be honest, things weren’t that easy last year. Covid affected my life in a way I’d never imagined it would. Work kept me going for a bit, but then I found my weekend cocktails creep into my weekdays, and then slowly during work hours too. It’s managed to take that edge off of this year.” - Shohini, 27*

    5.  Offline Romance  © iStock
“I met someone on a dating app last October. And we sorta had this intense thing going on for a few weeks. He’d be over at mine since he lived with his parents. The relationship was short. Fast. Intense. It was also funny in hindsight, cuz I’d never have dared to attend client meetings while being ‘serviced’ by another ‘client’ before this.”- Rukmini, 33*

    6. Info Dump   © iStock
“Some meetings can get really long. Like uncomfortably long. I’m talking, 2 or 3 hours even. Some of them were literally just single-lined emails that didn't require much explanation. But everyone likes feeling important these days… I need coffee to get through most of these unsolicited invasions of my time. Sometimes I’m even sitting on my shitter with my mic on mute.” - Ejaz, 25*

    7. COD Squad  © iStock
“I got into COD (Call Of Duty) mobile last year when it became big in India, and now, that sense of community is stronger for me than any other. My friends and I are mostly always online, modding our guns and trying team strategies we’ve learnt on the internet. So, at this point work feels like something that gives me money, while COD is what gives me joy.” - Vineeth, 29

Offices used to be the regular factor in our lives, with voyeuristic managers and colleagues snooping down our screens when we’d rather be lost in our world, getting the task at hand done. Now, we’re all at home. All the time. And funnily, it’s brought out some interesting kinks to our personalities as well.

There’s a popular saying in Bollywood that every movie has its own fate and it couldn’t be more true.
There are so many films that did terrible at the box office upon their release but became a hit among the audience years later. It could be the case of ‘a wrong film at the wrong time’ or wrong viewership but some of the below-average movies in Bollywood proved their worth much later on the television.
    © Vinay Pictures
From comedy movies like Andaz Apna Apna that still leaves us in splits or a thought-provoking, politics-themed film like Nayak, these have left us baffled about what didn’t strike the chord with the audience who went to watch them at the time.

Because we have watched these at least a hundred times now on TV and still can’t get enough.
    © Taandav Films
Here are five such Bollywood movies that bombed when they were released but have now gained cult status among the millennials:

    1. Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006) © Taandav Films
This is one of the most amazing con movies ever made and we cannot wrap our heads around why it wasn’t a commercial success.

It was praised by the critics for its intelligent humour, brilliant star cast and interesting plotline. Too bad, it didn’t do well. It's a popular AF flick now.
    2. Andaz Apna Apna (1994) © Vinay Pictures
Consider it a red flag if your partner doesn’t like this cult comedy which is better than most comedy movies today (looking at you, Hungama 2).

It took the film about two decades to gain the popularity it deserved and now, everyone knows the iconic characters and dialogues by heart. Better late than never.
    3. Dil Chahta Hai (2001) © Excel Entertainment
Can you believe the film that taught us so many lessons about life so brilliantly wasn’t a massive hit? It is a millennial’s guide for friendships, love and adulting which was handed to us way back when we were kids.

Every 90s kid has grown up watching this film on the television and we can watch it again anytime now.
    4. Sooryavansham (1999) © Padmalaya Combines
There’s a reason why this movie was on every weekend on the television and it’s not because the channel operator loved it, it’s because once we made the cringe face saying ‘not again’, we still watched it every time, rather than changing the channel to anything else.

We realised that it was actually a beautiful movie about a father-son relationship. Apparently, even two Amitabh Bachchans couldn’t make it a hit at that time, for whatever reason.
    5. Nayak (2001) © Sri Surya Movies
No matter how many times we watch these movies, we get excited for the interview scene where Anil Kapoor embarrasses Amrish Puri and the latter challenges him to become the CM for a day.

If it was released today, it would have made a mad collection at the box office, if it wasn’t banned, of course, because you know, politics and people’s sentiment towards it.

Red flags, by definition, are indicators of problematic behaviour that is bound to come and bite you in the ass if you ever ignore them in the first place. Something that most of us are well-versed with, considering we do it too often, owing to the whole “love is blind” philosophy.

    © Vishesh Films
And while blindly falling in love may tug at the romantic in you, what it also does is put you at the risk of getting hurt in the future. Which is why, it is crucial that during the early phase of our relationship with anyone, we keep an eye out for what may or may not be a deal-breaker for you. And that includes behaviour in bed.

Here are 7 red flags to lookout for during *** and put your relationship on red alert:
    1. Isn’t Too Big On Using Protection © iStock
You see, it is a common myth that only guys would ever insist on abandoning the contraceptive for the act.

In a lot of cases, women too, restrain the guy from using protection and either way, it is one of the biggest red flags to look out for.
Someone who isn’t up for using protection is bad news!
    2. Easily Distracted © iStock
One of the biggest turn-offs and something to be seriously noted is when your partner gets easily distracted while having *** with you.

Whether it is to pick calls in the middle of the act, constantly feel the need to play the right songs in the background or care more for the lighting than making love to you.
There is a chance it wouldn’t be a one-time occurrence with them...
    3. Only A Receiver, Not A Giver © RSVP Movies
These are the “I got mine” kind of people, who only care about having a good time themselves, to hell with their partners.

Whether it is by expecting their partners to go down on them while not extending the same courtesy, or only being in it until they get their orgasm, if you’re in bed with someone like this, RUN!
    4. Doesn’t Know How To Take No As An Answer © Excel Entertainment
You see, pestering long after your partner has said 'no' to something only to convert their no into a yes isn’t a skill to be proud of.

It’s a lowkey sign of the person not knowing how to respect your wishes in bed, something that must never be taken lightly.
If your partner struggles with accepting what you do and do not like in bed, you’re only enabling their toxic side and entering into something that can be very dangerous.
    5. Snaps Out Of It As Soon As It's Over © iStock
Those who snap out of the moment as soon as they’re done and basically throw the whole ‘wham, bam, thank you maam’ act at you, are also people to look out for and steer clear of.

Because chances are that their interest, affection and care is only limited to the seven minutes in heaven and not one second after that.
    6) Pass Subtle Comments At Your Body © iStock
If you’re in bed with someone who whilst in the act or maybe right after, starts passing subtle comments about your body, take it as a sign of being in bed with a possible body-shamer.

The last thing you need is to be with someone who makes you feel badly or conscious about your body, and who’s to say if they’ve done it once they won’t do it again?
    7. Asks Too Many Questions © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
It’s good to be with someone who cares about what you like, what you want and how you want it, but it is also a very big turn-off when those little reaffirmations turn into an episode of KBC in the middle of a steamy make-out.

“Are You Coming”, “Now?”, “How about NOW?” are all questions that are bound to drive you crazy and push you to the edge (not of ecstasy, but of a cliff).

Abhishek Bachchan's fashion sense is as immaculate as his acting skills, and he has time and again out styled some of the biggest hypebeasts in India.

There have been innumerable instances when he has worn sneakers and set some strong goals with his sartorial sense. Say what you may, his dressing sense instantly clicks with us.

It's no big surprise to us anymore that Abhishek has an affinity for zany sneakers. He might lay low sometimes with his outfits, but his sneakers always stand head and shoulders above the rest.
    © Viral Bhayani
It took us a while to get over his heeled sneakers, and then again, when he made a statement wearing cement sneakers.

Every time he has made an appearance, his shoes are more rad. This time too, as he was papped at Mumbai airport, he gave us a peek at yet another, unseen pair. These shoes are equally irresistible for us as well! Take a look.
    © Nike
Abhishek is seen wearing Air Jordan 6 Travis Scott. These sneakers dropped in 2019 and came in glow in the dark sole.

These also have perforated underlays with reflective design. The colour is called British Khaki, and it has a utilitarian pouch on the ankle. Yes, a pocket on the shoes.
The medial midsole shows a smiley face graphic. Overall the sneakers have a playful appeal.
    © Nike
Abhishek's subdued yet unusual choice of sneakers looks perfect. As for the cost, these aren't as expensive as some pairs we have seen him in the past. These are worth only Rs 20,695 on Nike's official website. That's not bad, if you ask us.

    © Viral Bhayani
    © Amiri
At the airport, Junior Bachchan also ticked all the boxes with his outfit game. He wore an oversized white hoodie by Amiri.

Furthermore, it has a front kangaroo pocket, and the sleeves have a teddy and bones design. This style is almost worth Rs 64,325.
Coming to its styling, he paired it with blue jeans, and it has a relatively relaxed, retro vibe to it. But say what may, the sneakers are the best part of this look, with their modern aesthetics.
    © Viral Bhayani
In all, the pockets on the shoes seem to be a unique way to carry your small essentials, like coins and we just love that about the pair.

    Way to go, Abhishek.

Ranbir Kapoor made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Saawariya alongside Sonam Kapoor that tanked badly at the box office. However, Ranbir proved his talent to the audience through his undeterred hard work in films.

Even though the audience admires him as an actor and he has given many flops in Bollywood, he has somehow managed to bewitch us and has survived in the industry. He has portrayed dreamy characters in most of his films that might look attractive to the audience but are always confusing to understand.
After all, chaos seems captivating to a lot of people!
He has played toxic boy roles that shouldn’t be promoted but we somehow fell for the trap. Here are 5 ‘toxic boy’ roles played by Ranbir Kapoor-
    Wake Up Sid
Sid Mehra played by Ranbir Kapoor is a slacker who is dependent on his dad. He is exactly the opposite of what Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma) is shown in the film. After graduating from the university, he starts working in his father's business but lasts only a week.

He is extremely careless and gets rejected by Konkona Sen Sharma in the film and that’s a wake-up call for him.
    Bachna Ae Haseeno
Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Raj in the film who likes travelling and keeps on shuffling between women. He is extremely commitment phobic and makes false promises to all his girlfriends.

The plot of the film is extremely common, but it also shows how he ruins so many lives and tries to fix it with one apology.
    Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Ranbir’s character in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil looked beautiful but he sure didn’t understand the concept of consent. He kept on forcing Anushka Sharma to get into a relationship with him, even after he made it clear that he just wants to be friends.

Their friendship gets extremely abusive as Ayan is angry at Alizeh for not being in love with him. Ranbir Kapoor's character in the film is obsessed with Anushka Sharma’s precarious character.
    Rockstar
Ranbir Kapoor’s character ‘Jordan’ is shown to be dumb and indecisive and just because he can’t make up his mind, he goes on harming Nargis Fakhri’s character ‘Heer’.

He is the clear portrayal of toxic masculinity and is also more or less shown to be a lost cause who is just talented. He is aimless and disrupts Heer’s life with his own.
    Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
The character played by Ranbir Kapoor in the movie is every other guy living in the country who wants to fulfill his dreams and also wants to explore the world. Men have taken its iconic dialogue quite literally –“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon ... bus rukna nahi chahta”.

Bunny’s character in the film is also commitment-phobic and he doesn’t want to tell Naina but when meets her again, he tries to treat her as his girlfriend without having the right to do so.

Earlier this week, Shilpa Shetty had filed a plea with the Bombay High Court, asking the honourable court to order certain media outlets to take down articles that were written about her and her alleged involvement in Raj Kundra’s porn scandal.

    © BCCL
The plea alleged that the articles published by the media outlets on their website and social media platforms were defamatory, because of which she was seeking damages to the tunes of Rs 25 Crores.

    © Instagram/theshilpashetty
The Bombay High Court upon hearing the plea has decided to not restrain media outlets from writing about her. The court also said, that since most of the reports cite police sources and have been attributed to statements released by the police, they cannot be considered to be defamatory.

    © Instagram/theshilpashetty
The main contention that Shetty had were against the reports that claimed that she broke down and started shouting at her husband Raj Kundra, when the police searched their properties and house. Shilpa’s lawyer argued that these incidents were “something that happened between a husband and wife, and should not have been reported.”

Justice Gautam Patel said that agreeing with what Shilpa Shetty is seeking in her plea will “have a chilling effect on the freedom of the press.”
    © BCCL
Justice Patel also added that since Shilpa Shetty had chosen public life, her life would be under a microscope. He added, “Articles saying she cried and fought with her husband when her statement was recorded, is not defamatory. It shows that she is a human.” The court also observed that just because she is a public figure, it did not mean that she has sacrificed her right to privacy.

    © Viral Bhayani
The court further stated that no media outlets would speculate upon Shilpa’s parenting and her children, as it was a concern raised by her lawyer.

The court, however, did order the removal of a few video posts that made a few derogatory comments about the actress. A few other media outlets had removed some of their videos, when the news broke that Shetty had approached the court.
The court also said in its order, “No part of this order should be construed as a gag on the media. I am making no order, but this is not refusal of interim or ad-interim relief.”
