Ranbir Kapoor made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Saawariya alongside Sonam Kapoor that tanked badly at the box office. However, Ranbir proved his talent to the audience through his undeterred hard work in films.

Sid Mehra played by Ranbir Kapoor is a slacker who is dependent on his dad. He is exactly the opposite of what Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma) is shown in the film. After graduating from the university, he starts working in his father's business but lasts only a week. 

He is extremely careless and gets rejected by Konkona Sen Sharma in the film and that’s a wake-up call for him. 

Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Raj in the film who likes travelling and keeps on shuffling between women. He is extremely commitment phobic and makes false promises to all his girlfriends. 

The plot of the film is extremely common, but it also shows how he ruins so many lives and tries to fix it with one apology.

Ranbir’s character in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil looked beautiful but he sure didn’t understand the concept of consent. He kept on forcing Anushka Sharma to get into a relationship with him, even after he made it clear that he just wants to be friends. 

Their friendship gets extremely abusive as Ayan is angry at Alizeh for not being in love with him. Ranbir Kapoor's character in the film is obsessed with Anushka Sharma’s precarious character. 

Ranbir Kapoor’s character ‘Jordan’ is shown to be dumb and indecisive and just because he can’t make up his mind, he goes on harming Nargis Fakhri’s character ‘Heer’. 

He is the clear portrayal of toxic masculinity and is also more or less shown to be a lost cause who is just talented. He is aimless and disrupts Heer’s life with his own.  

The character played by Ranbir Kapoor in the movie is every other guy living in the country who wants to fulfill his dreams and also wants to explore the world. Men have taken its iconic dialogue quite literally –“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon ... bus rukna nahi chahta”.

Bunny’s character in the film is also commitment-phobic and he doesn’t want to tell Naina but when meets her again, he tries to treat her as his girlfriend without having the right to do so.
