Ankita Konwar has always been vocal about her opinions, and every time people on the internet have thrown shade at her, she has often given a befitting response.Β

Milind Soman and Ankita have suffered the wrath of internet trolls on different issues including their age gap. But, the couple never lets these harsh comments get in their way.Β
Very recently, Ankita also shared her views on racism in India.

As Mirabai Chanu took home the silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics in the under 49 kg category, Ankita spoke about the 'hypocrites of society' who hail people from North East only if they win accolades for the nation.Β

Mirabai received a lot of appreciation all over the world, from celebrities to politicians. Ankita, however, took to Twitter and wrote a post on how living in Northeast India makes one 'Indian' only and not names like 'chinky’, 'Chinese, 'Nepali', or 'Corona'.
Ankita wrote, "If you're from Northeast India, you can become an Indian ONLY when you win a medal for the country.
Otherwise, we are known as "chinky” "Chinese" "Nepali", or a new addition "corona". India is not just infested with casteism but racism too. Speaking from my experience. #Hypocrites"

Otherwise we are known as β€œchinky” β€œChinese” β€œNepali” or a new addition β€œcorona”.
India is not just infested with casteism but racism too.

This tweet received a wave of response on Twitter. Most agreed with what Ankita said, and users called it a sad truth of our country. However, some also blamed the education system as well and said how it was responsible for this narrow and uncivilised mindset regarding people from North East.
Check out some of the reactions here.
I have send d screenshot coz I cannot tweet so big post ...but please read ..further prior to ur marriage I never heard any Ankita Konwar but ofcourse post marriage the whole globe now know u as Mrs Soman..congratulations and I wish u all d best in life ... pic.twitter.com/ndEB5zxoPW
β€” assam ki khusbooo..... (@BorahSash) July 28, 2021Nope. NE is rightfully part of India and you all are Indians. Just ignore those people who expressed that. You all are part of it even though some people agree or not. Let them keep their opinion and we keep ours.
β€” Vijay Kumar (@VijayKu69567229) July 28, 2021It's funny how we call racism when we are discriminated outside the country but we turn a blind eye to that happening at home! Speaking from experience.
β€” Angel T (@angel_t_22) July 27, 2021But, one user who was somehow disappointed with Ankita's comment, said, "Very negative approach, at least not expected from Mrs Milind."
Very negative approach........ atleasr not expected from mrs milind.

β€” Ankita Konwar (@5Earthy) July 27, 2021On this, Ankita, in a subtle manner, responded, saying, "I am Ankita Konwar."
Several such incidents have been marked in our country, and people have suffered from discrimination, casteism and racism, especially those who hail from Northeast India.Β
Being called 'corona' because China is the epicentre of the virus, is nothing but degrading. A few users also tagged Milind Soman and asked his take on the matter.

Bollywood is no stranger to the debate over pay disparity, as many female actors have pointed out how male actors are paid more despite them doing an equal amount of work.Β
Actor Kriti Sanon recently pointed out the fact that how actresses have to do a female-centric movie these days to prove the amount of audience they can pull in.
Calling out the sexism and pay disparity, Kriti, who is basking in the glory of her recent outing Mimi told Bollywood Bubble, β€œI kind of feel that as much as it is unfair, the difference is not the problem, the difference is a lot and that’s the problem. But, having said that I do believe that your remuneration should be proportional to the amount of audience that you are able to pull into the theatre by yourself.”
    View this post on Instagram
She elaborated, β€œMy point is that a man doesn’t have to do it by doing a male-centric film, but sometimes a female has to prove it by doing a female-centric film and say that this is the audience that she has pulled in. So, that little difference is always there. It doesn’t matter how many films you’ve done, it doesn’t matter what your role is in the film, how much of an audience you have as an actor should decide your remuneration.”
    View this post on Instagram
We completely agree with her point of view as an actor should be paid according to the hard work she or he puts in and how much of a crowd-puller an actor is.Β
She also added that patriarchy is so deep-rooted that her male friends feel that Heropanti’s lead actor Tiger Shroff should be getting more than his female co-stars.Β

Kriti further added, β€œBut sometimes my male friends and fans feel that if a Tiger Shroff can pull so many audiences then, of course, his remuneration should be more. But the problem is ki humari society itni zyada patriarchal hai ki woh level is too much.”
What do you have to say about her statements? Let us know in the comments section below.

Tips To Style & Pick Your Ethnic FootwearGo for striking colours and bold prints in footwear only when your outfit is plain and neutral. Avoid too much print and colour both on footwears and kurta. If your kurta is printed, stick to shoes and sandals in black, white and brown. When going for a bold footwear choice, build your look around the footwear and not try to integrate your colourful shoes to your already loud look.Use your footwear to colour block your look, avoid matchy matchy footwears because mostly your kurta and pyjama are in the same colour, so it would be nice to break all the monotone with your shoes.Β Do not wear socks with your ethnic shoes, unless it’s a bandhgala or a jodhpuri.Β Always keep one ethnic shoe style in sandals and one in shoes handy in your festive wardrobe. Pick combinations like a Kolhapuri and a pair of mules, or a criss-cross strap sandals and a pair of oxfords to create a more versatile shoedrobe. Two similar kinds of shoes will restrict your styling game. The BottomlineΒ Your footwear is the MOV of your festive look and hope our guide helps you build a more eclectic shoedrobe to nail that perfect festive look.Β

Ayushmann Khurrana has come a long way in the industry and continues to enthral the audience with his films.Β
He is not the typical or conventional hero as it is with every movie, and we get to see something new when he explores the territories untouched or less explored.Β
From Vicky Donor to Badhaai Ho, Ayushmann has proved that he believes in stories and concepts.
He recently appeared in Arbaaz Khanβ€˜s show Pinch 2 wherein the host read out mean and offensive tweets to his guest, and he reacted to it.Β
When Arbaaz asked that if it’s good to stereotype actors, Ayushmann said, β€œEvery actor has a staple zone. Tiger’s staple zone is action. Mine is doing slice-of-life films. Every film can’t be different, maybe one film I can do differently. If you keep trying something different, you’ll get exhausted. People are not looking for a different story, but a different you. No need to be so self-obsessed.”
    Here’s the full episode:

Arbaaz pointed out the fact that how haters trolled him for writing an autobiography, Cracking the Code: My Journey in Bollywood, which came out in 2015, at a young age and also bashed him for his average writing.
On this, he said, β€œAfter my first film, I starred in three back-to-back flops. People had written me off, and I was ready to move back to Chandigarh. I was going through a phase where I had time on my hands to write a book, so I wrote it."
    View this post on Instagram
He continued, "But now I'm at a stage where I don't have time to write a book, and work is also going well. Nothing was working out at that time. I had to do something to make it work. I had a band, named Ayushmann Bhava; I used to do concerts. I thought even if my films don't work, I could sing at birthdays, I'd dance, I'd entertain people somehow, I'd write a book. I was thinking of all the things I could do if my films don't work. You just need to make it work somehow, that's an artist's job."
On what β€˜pinches’ him about social media, Ayushmann replied, β€œWhen someone says something against the family. Work is subjective. You have the right to like and dislike a character or a film, but it pinches when someone comments on the family.”

Ayushmann has surely answered all his trolls and now, they can probably rest in peace.

We think of metabolism as one of the most important factors to consider for fat loss. Whenever we hit a plateau or stop progressing on our fitness journey, we simply blame it on metabolism.

In simple terms, metabolism refers to the process of food being converted into energy and metabolic rate refers to the rate at which metabolism occurs in our bodies.Β
The higher your metabolic rate is, the faster you’ll lose weight.
How Does Food Affect Metabolism?Β  Β© iStock
The energy needed to consume and digest the food helps in increasing your metabolic rate. In other words, the more you eat, the faster your metabolism will be. This happens because of the β€œthermic effect of food”.Β

Apart from food, factors like genetics, muscle mass, hormone function and physical activity can also affect your metabolism.Β
Best Foods To Boost MetabolismCertain foods have a higher thermic effect and can help in boosting your metabolism. Make sure to add these foods in your diet and also pair up these foods with some physical activity.Β
Here are the best foods for boosting metabolism:Β
    1. LentilsΒ Lentils are a rich source of iron and iron is essential for your body’s energy consumption process. 2. Whole GrainsΒ Whole grains are considered to be beneficial for anyone trying to lose weight. They are rich in fiber and consume more energy than refined grains for digestion. This is why they are one of the best foods to consume if you want to boost metabolism.Β

    __ECOMPRODUCT__2073__
    4. Green TeaΒ Green tea is one of the most popular metabolism boosting beverages out there. Its effects on metabolism are well studied and fairly reliable. There are several studies which have proven the fact that green tea helps in boosting metabolism.Β

There is no better feeling for an athlete than winning an Olympic gold medal.Β Β
It’s hard to control emotions and the same happened with Australia swimmer Kaylee McKeown after she won the women's 100m backstroke gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
The 20-year-old swimmer won the gold with a new Olympic record timing of 57.47 seconds, which was marginally outside her own world record timing that she had set during the Australian Swimming Trials earlier this year.
    Olympic Record!

McKeown was trailed by Canada's Kylie Masse and Regan Smith of the USA, who took home silver and bronze medals respectively.Β
After finishing the race, she was interviewed by Australia's Channel 7 and that is when she dropped the F-Bomb and later realised her mistake.

McKeown had a tough last year as she lost her father who died in August last year after a long battle with Brain Cancer. The interviewer Nathan Templeton asked her what she would like to say to his mother and sister.

Not realising that she was on Live TV, McKeown yelled: β€œ**** Yeah!”. Realising that she had swore in front of the whole world, she covered her mouth the very next moment and said: β€œO Shit!”.

Like most parents, her mother was delighted with her daughter’s achievement but not her choice of words and when asked about the same said she would have to have a word with her when she returned back home from Tokyo.
McKeown’s reaction got mixed response on the micro-blogging site, some people criticised her for not setting the right example for kids, while others defended her saying her reaction was a typical β€˜Aussie response’ and they understood it came out of excitement.

McKeown, however, wasn’t too worried by her mother’s reaction and hoped she would still be her favourite, especially after winning the gold medal.Β

    Β© Reuters
"I think I might be mum's favourite for a little bit now. Just a little bit," said the new 100m backstroke Olympic champion.

"It's definitely something that people dream of. Something I have dreamed of. To make it a reality is...really amazing. I'm just thankful I have a good support team. A few people before the race came up and said to just have all the faith in the world that you have got this," she said during the post-event interview.

Despite suffering a huge loss last year, McKeown didn’t lose her focus and went from strength to strength, deriving motivation from the tattoo she got on her foot that read β€˜I'll always be with you' in her father’s memory. Dedicating the gold medal to her father, the world record holder said: β€œI hope you're proud, and I'll keep doing you proud”.

The iPad Pro lineup already put most office laptops to shame but this year Apple has gone ahead and widened the gap with its new M1 chip. We’ve already seen the chipset in action on the latest MacBook Pro but now one can also use it on a tablet. I’ve been using the M1 iPad Pro for the past two weeks to find out how much of a difference the new chipset makes.
Design and DisplayΒ While its bigger brother has the Retina XDR display which uses a Mini-LED backlight, the one I am using is its smaller brethren that doesn’t come with the new fancy screen. Having said that, the 11-inch iPad Pro is still a high-end panel that has a resolution of 2,388 X 1,668 pixels and can deliver almost four million pixels. The front design of the display has not changed much from last year’s iPad Pro where the screen stretches edge-to-edge with slight bezels.Β
    Β© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The display also has an anti-reflective coating which means you won’t find it difficult to use under harsh lights. The display’s colour calibration is on-point where Apple has prioritised colour, brightness, gimme and white point have been tuned perfectly. For people who love to watch movies and TV shows, the display also supports HDR and Dolby Vision content.Β

    Β© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The iPad Pro’s design hasn’t changed much with the same rounded corner and a magnetic side where you can attach an Apple Pencil. At the back, you will find a triple-camera module that consists of a 12MP Ultra-Wide camera on the front, a 12MP Wide camera and a 10MP Ultra-Wide camera.Β

    Β© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
Lastly, for people who are looking to replace their laptops with an iPad Pro, you can also attach the Magic Keyboard and use it as a normal laptop. The new Magic Keyboard has a trackpad for easier navigation and works in tandem with iPadOS. The keyboard is also backlit like the MacBook Pro laptops so that you can use it in darkness or dimly lit rooms.Β

For graphic designers and gamers, the display also supports up to 120Hz refresh rate which means you can experience smooth performance while editing videos/images or playing games. The iPad Pro 2021 also has the ProMotion feature where it automatically adjusts the refresh rate between 24Hz and 120Hz to conserve battery life.Β
PerformanceΒ Being powered with the M1 chip, you would expect the iPad Pro to be super powerful and efficient. That is mostly true but you won’t notice the difference if you plan on using it for social media browsing, viewing content on Apple TV or while playing mobile games. You will most notice it when you try to use large video and image files in editing apps like Adobe Premiere Lightroom or Affinity. When handling 4K videos, you will instantly notice the efficient performance when you export a project file. The case remains the same when handling extra-large image files which the M1 iPad Pro can handle easily.Β
    Β© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
For gamers, titles like Divinity: Original Sin, GRID AutoSport and Genshin Impact run without any hiccups, crashes or even frame rate drops. In fact, it felt like I was playing console-level games on a portable PlayStation 4 console. You can even connect the DualSense or the Xbox controller to play games. In most games, iPad Pro was able to efficiently handle high-resolution textures without having any drastic impact on the battery life.Β

Our M1 iPad Pro came with 16GB of RAM which is probably more than what you have on your laptop. I ran a simple Geekbench 5 test and was floored with the scores the M1 chip yielded. The iPad Pro scored 1720 (single-core) and 7291 (multi-core), which is significantly higher than the 2020 iPad Pro. In a casual test on Premiere Rush, the 2021 iPad Pro converted a 4K video to 1080p in 5:28 minutes.Β
Connectivity and Battery LifeThe USB-C port on the 2021 iPad Pro is also the most versatile one as it supports Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4. You can use the port to use a secondary display (up to 4K), charge other devices such as your iPhone and connect USB Hubs for reading storage devices such as SSDs, Flash Drives and SD cards. If you are a content creator who needs to transfer files and edit on the go, the iPad Pro 2021 can handle everything you throw at it.Β
Finally, the 11-inch iPad Pro can last about 10 hours on a single charge which is about what I got from my usage as well. I tested the iPad Pro while playing games, encoding videos, watching YouTube and browsing the internet. I managed to get about 9 hours and 45 minutes of total battery life.Β
CamerasΒ The 2021 iPad Pro also has a versatile camera system where you can use the 12MP Wide camera and a 10MP Ultra-Wide camera on the back for taking images that you can use in your workflows. You can also use the 12MP Ultra-Wide camera on the front for video calls, and selfies. The iPad Pro is also the perfect device to use for online calls as Center Stage puts the user always in the centre of the frame.

If you like to explore AR experiences, you can also use the LiDAR scanner to scan objects. The sensor also comes in handy for taking better low-light images. The sensor comes in handy in apps like Clips, Complete Anatomy, CamTrackAR and ARkit.

The cameras work somewhat similar to the iPhone with similar features and performance. While I didn’t use the camera that much, but you can have a look at the samples from the various sensors below:
    AccessoriesΒ  Β© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The iPad Pro can be used with two main accessories i.e, the Apple Pencil and the Magic Keyboard. If you want the full experience, I highly recommend getting both for your iPad at some point. The Magic Keyboard effectively turns the iPad Pro into a laptop while the Apple Pencil can be used for an array of use cases. It can be used for taking notes in class, drawing sketches, or editing images. For a graphic designer, the Apple Pencil is an essential tool to own and if you don’t want to lug around a massive laptop for taking notes, the iPad Pro is a great substitute.Β

The Final SayΒ The 2021 M1 iPad Pro is the most impressive and powerful tablet Apple has ever made. There’s a lot of power here for all sorts of workflows and comes in handy for many use cases. The iPad Pro can be used by graphic designers, travellers, students, gamers or video editors. If you want the best of the best, the 2021 iPad Pro should be your next purchase.
