Shahid Kapoor is not just a talented actor, but we also call him a style god or a reason.
The man has been setting sartorial goals for a very long time now, and not many have even remotely come close to what he can do in terms of fashion and style.
However, he often manages to steal our attention, mainly because of his sneakers. Hence, it also won't be wrong to call him a sneakerhead.
While he is primarily seen acing athleisure and normcore trend, his sneakers often lift the spirits of his lacklustre ensembles.

Shahid has undoubtedly cemented his place in the fashion department with his style moves.
Having said that, he was recently seen at Mumbai airport with his wife Mira Kapoor in absolute, head-turning statement pieces. But what piqued our interest was the cool pair of sneakers Shahid wore.
These are also the longest shoes we have seen in a while. Take a look.
© Farfetch
Shahid's sneakers are Balmain's B-Ball high-top sneakers. These shoes feature basketball elements, including high-top construction and cushioned sole unit.
Furthermore, it also has other luxurious touches. The pair is decked white and off-white colourway and calfskin leather upper with semi-translucent foot strap.
The Balmain branding stands out on the pair. Some of the other details are perforated accents on the toe and branded tongue patch.

Speaking of the price, this fashion-meet-basketball sneaker is priced at $843, which converts to Rs 62,626 as per Indian currency. Remember, this doesn't include the usual customs and import duties.

Although the main talking point are the sneakers here, we also couldn't miss Shahid's outfit.
His fashion display is often subtle, and he likes to keep his ensembles comfortable. Because airport looks are all about travelling in laid-back silhouettes, Shahid threw in a basic grey T-shirt and layered a denim shirt on top.
He combined the upper with black shorts, which seemed perfect for the airport. That, along with his silver neck chain, kept his look understated and nothing over the top.
So, here goes Shahid again, proving that he is an indeed style maven. Way to go!

Former Pakistan cricketer and one of the most loved international stars of the game, Shoaib Akhtar recently shared a video from his official Instagram handle in which his son would be seen enjoying the song Bum Bum Bole from Indian actor Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par (2007).
View this post on Instagram“Amir khan work is still doing wonders for every kid & mines to keep it up …” Akhtar wrote in the caption, complimenting the actor’s timeless work that continues to influence, inspire and uplift the mood of the viewers even after 14 years.
Akhtar is a big fan of Bollywood movies and tries to stay up to date with the films that come out of the Indian film industry. In fact, the Rawalpindi Express wished that if there was ever a biopic made in his name, he wanted actor Salman Khan to play his role.
Shoaib Akhtar "If ever my biopic is made, I want Salman Khan to play the lead in it"
— Saj Sadiq (@Saj_PakPassion) May 4, 2020
“If ever my biopic is made, I want Salman Khan to play the lead in it,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq, a Pakistan journalist on his Twitter handle.
The timing for Akhtar’s appreciation for the Indian actors coincidentally clashed with the harsh criticism Bollywood faced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, who expressed that Bollywood in India and Hollywood in the US are the core reasons for spreading vulgarity in the culture.
“I want originality in our film industry and for it to bring a new way of thinking," Khan said at the National Amateur Short Film Festival in Islamabad. “Vulgarity started from Hollywood, came to Bollywood and then that kind of culture was promoted here,” he added.

— TIMES NOW (@TimesNow) June 29, 2021
In the past, the Pakistan PM has also made some rather eyebrow-raising comments about how women wearing “fewer clothes” invite sexual predators.
Back in April, Khan was asked about his thoughts on the theory of women's clothes provoking sexual violence. Here’s how he responded: "If a woman is wearing very few clothes it will have an impact on the men unless they are robots. It's common sense."
"...I said the concept of 'purdah'. Avoid temptation in society. We don't have discos here, we don't have nightclubs. It is a completely different society way of life here. So if you raise temptation in society to a point -- all these young guys have nowhere to go --- it has a consequence in the society."
He added, "It depends which society you live in. If in a society people have not seen that sort of thing, it will have an impact on them."

Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding is one of the most respected commentators in world cricket and is known for speaking his mind without caring for what others would think of him.
Despite being such a huge name in the broadcasting world, we don’t see Holding commentate in the biggest T20 league in the world -- Indian Premier League.
© Instagram IPL
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, when asked about the reason behind this, Holding replied: “I only commentate on cricket” courting a massive controversy.
The former pacer’s comments didn’t go down well with many followers and they took to social media to highlight how Indian cricket has changed ever since the IPL began in 2008.
© Instagram IPL
Not only that, some fans went one step further and doubled up as detectives and dug up his old statements where he had claimed that the Caribbean Premier League would help in the growth of professional cricket in the West Indies.
"Many West Indies players are not interested in playing for West Indies. When you are earning 600,000 or 800,000 dollars for six weeks, what are you going to do? I don't blame the cricketers. I blame the administrators. West Indies will win T20 tournaments which aren't cricket," Holding said.
© Instagram IPL
Giving the example of West Indies players, Holding said he was worried that with the amount of money players are offered to play in these T20 leagues for such a short duration, would eventually push them away from their national sides.
Digging up the old grave, the IPL supporters questioned Holding’s double standards saying where was his patriotism when he chose to play in the breakaway tournament Kerry Packer’s World Series in the late 1970s, which wasn’t approved by the International Cricket Council.
Nice coming from a man who fell for the lure of money to play Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket in the late 70s! Brilliant comment from the great man!
— Dhiren Wagle (@ThePrism2) June 28, 2021IPL feeds thousands or may be lakhs of people…it is more than cricket…people will just keep on commenting as they don’t get what others are getting

— Kashmiri Pandit (@slayer_jihadi) June 28, 2021Going by that logic EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga and Champions League is not soccer.
What a joke!!!!
— Kashmiri Pandit (@slayer_jihadi) June 28, 2021Sir, what's so special here? Do you mean to say that a tournament in which legends like Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni, Ponting, Mcgrath, Kumble, Pollock participated is not cricket? Utter shame that you see sense in this stupid argument from Holding.
— Raghavendran (@raghav242018) June 28, 2021Holding has been a sharp critic of T20 cricket for several years now and had famously said that he wouldn’t even call the shortest format 'cricket'.
With a number of T20 leagues popping up in different parts of the world at such a rapid pace, some of Holding’s concerns might actually be true but that is like looking only at one side of the coin.
The IPL has revolutionised the game, not just in terms of the huge money it has brought in but also in identifying the hidden talents from different parts of the country and providing them with a platform to play alongside some of the greats of the game.

On Monday, Sri Lanka Cricket decided to suspend three of their players including famous names such as Kusal Mendis and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella after they were recorded flouting the COVID-19 protocol in the middle of the England tour.
Dickwella and Mendis alongside Danushka Gunathilaka were captured on camera anonymously as they roamed the streets of Durham, without masks and with cigarettes in their hands, following the third and final T20I match of the series, which Sri Lanka lost by an embarrassing 89 runs.
“Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee has suspended Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka & Niroshan Dickwella for breaching the bio- bubble and they will be immediately recalled to Sri Lanka,” SLC secretary Mohan De Silva said in a statement.
“An investigation is underway as they have breached the (code of) conduct,” he added upon taking a look at the video which clearly shows the cricketers, all of whom were members of the Playing XI in England.

— Asif Ali 🇱🇰🇮🇳 (@Asif_Ali96) June 28, 2021
While in the first video, only Dickwella and Mendis can be seen on screen, a second video shows Gunathilaka joining the duo as they walk around the English streets late at night, smoking and breaking the bio-bubble rules while putting at risk the members of not just their own squad by also the England side.
Clearly, the fans of the Sri Lankan squad and cricket in general, were absolutely unhappy with this cricketers’ carelessness and expressed their rage on Twitter:
No care of bio-bubble breach, doesn’t seem like a humiliating 3-0 loss is in their mind. With this behavior & kind of performance shown, they want higher pay & are refusing to sign 🤦♂️ what’s been offered itself is a lot of money for these good for nothing players. @RajapaksaNamal

— Saroj Lama Hewa (@sarojlh) June 28, 2021The Lankan Lions are scheduled to play their first of three ODI on Tuesday and all the three suspended cricketers were to be a part of the squad. Once the series is over, the touring side was to go back to their country, where the B string of the Indian cricket team will be waiting to go toe-to-toe with them in a three-ODI and three-T20I series between 13-25 July.
At the moment, the A-string of the Men in Blue is also in the United Kingdom and in the middle of an officially authorised 20-day break during which the cricketers and their families are free to explore the nation while adhering to the COVID-19 protocol established by the British government. They are required to reassemble in London on July 14 to resume practice for a five-Test series against England.

Bollywood has many incredible singers, but the one name from the list that is spoken about quite often these days, is that of Neha Kakkar.
For the unversed, she started her singing journey at a Mata Ki Chowki with her family and her first salary was just Rs 100.
By 2006, Neha participated in season 2 of Indian Idol but got eliminated soon enough. But, her journey didn't stop there. She launched her first album in 2008 and named it Neha Kakkar, The Rockstar.

It was the dance track, Second Hand Jawani, that made Neha go viral.
The singer then went on to give some back-to-back smash hits since 2004. She is a self-made singer and is currently seen as a judge on Indian Idol 12.

Her rags to riches story is also quite inspiring.
Last year, Neha took to Instagram to share some stunning images of her swanky bungalow in Rishikesh. To many, this might just be an abode of another celebrity, but she also opened up about her rented one-room in which her entire family lived.
Neha spoke about the tiny house and said her mother put a table in the room to turn it into a kitchen.
Neha's career graph is pullulating with success, and it has contributed to her becoming one of the highest-paid singers in the industry. She currently possesses several expensive things, besides her mansion in Rishikesh, which is worth Rs 1.2 Crores. Check it out:
Neha Kakkar's Expensive Things 1. Mercedes Benz GLS 350 © Instagram/Neha Kakkar
Neha is quite active on social media and often shares all the happy and inspiring moments of her life. Speaking of her assets, she has a Mercedes Benz GLS 350 in her garage, which is worth a whopping Rs 80 Lakhs.
2. Expensive Bags © Instagram/Neha Kakkar
Apart from being known for her melodious music, the singer also has a fine taste in bags.
She has a massive collection and is often seen strutting in luxury brands like Chanel, Coach, DKNY, Burberry etc.
In one of her posts, Neha was seen carrying a shoulder bag from Gucci. As noted from the website, the cost of the bag converts to Rs 1.72 Lakh.
3. Mumbai House © Instagram/Neha Kakkar
Neha often shares pictures with her beau, Rohanpreet Singh, while relaxing in her house in Mumbai.
Several images from her Instagram account started doing rounds during the lockdown, and they were indeed a sight! She lives in Panorama Tower in Mumbai, the cost of which is Rs 1.2 Crores.
4. More Cars © Instagram/Neha Kakkar
We assume that Neha loves luxurious cars. Hence she owns two more cars beside her Mercedes. She has an Audi Q7, which costs between Rs 70 Lakh to a Crore.

In probably the weirdest story you will read this week, a male Chinese gamer spent over $22,000 on in-game gifts for a girl he wanted to play League of Legends with. The gamer then tried to sue her when she refused to go out with him. The story was first reported by the Chinese outlet Guangzhou Daily and later translated by Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad.
© Unsplash/igor-rodrigues
According to Ahmad’s translation, the Chinese gamer also known as Xiao Jun, “hired an e-girl” referred to as Xiao Mei to play League of Legends with him. He spent over $11,000 in the game on gifts and fees via an app between November 2019 and April 2020. He then tried to ask her on a date and repeatedly asked her even though Mei refused every time. Jun then went on to spend a further $11,425 on different types of cosmetics for her.
The female gamer reached a boiling point when Jun got his in-game friends and fans to call Mei his “wife” while they would play together. She decided to terminate the “play services” via the same app they initially met on. It seems like it was the last straw for Mei. In February 2020 he apparently tried to bump it up a notch by asking for a date. It is worthy to point out that Mei even refused to accept these gifts but Jun mailed it to her address anyway.
The girl still refused many date proposals and had no interest in meeting Jun which is when he decided to take the matter to court. He sued her for “unjust enrichment,” and asked her to return all the money he spent on her so far. The judge threw out the case immediately.
© Unsplash/fredrick-tendong
“Don’t play LoL, this is what happens to you,” Ahmad Tweeted while poking fun at the situation, and added that male gamers are “not entitled to a relationship with someone just because you randomly decided to spend money on that person.”
On one hand, it’s hard to believe that somebody can spend $22,000 in a game, let alone to impress someone. On another hand, this is a classic case of male entitlement expecting someone to go out with you just because you spent money on someone. What’s weird about this story is Jun went on to spend a further $11,425 on Mei even after being rejected once before. The moral of this weird story is simple: keep your expectation in check and don’t get enamoured by someone who you’ve only met online.

India is a land of a population of 136 crore people and naturally, there are a lot of talented and intellectually superior people who have come out of the nation and made a name for themselves around the world.
© YouTube
In fact, as you might have known from the movies or from the books that it was actually Aryabhata, a major Mathematician-Astronomer belonging to the classical age of Indian Astronomy and Mathematics, who invented zero, and later used it in the decimal system.

The point is that, be it sports, medicine, science, entertainment, or academics, our country has the brightest minds in every field.
© Facebook
Well, one of the recent examples of this is Kumar Eswaran, a Hyderabad-based mathematical physicist, who has claimed to have found proof for Riemann Hypothesis (RH), the famous mathematical problem that has remained unsolved for the past 161 years.
Posited by renowned German mathematician, Bernhard Riemann in 1859, the Riemann Hypothesis is one of seven unsolved “Millennium Prizes" from the Clay Mathematics Institute of Cambridge and has promised an award worth $1 million to the person who eventually solves it.
© Famous Mathematicians
As per reports, Easwaran, who works at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Hyderabad, had indeed solved the puzzle that had so far remained unsolved by the brightest minds in the world.
In fact, Easwaran had placed his research titled ‘The final and exhaustive proof of the Riemann Hypothesis from first principles on the internet almost five years ago, however, editors of international journals have been reluctant in putting the paper through a detailed peer review.
“It was, in fact, back in 2016, that I first gave proof for the formula improved by the great mathematician Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann in the 1800s. I had put it on the web for open review and downloads after working on it for about six weeks. During 2018-19, I gave several lectures on the proof." said Eswaran while speaking with the Deccan Chronicle.
However, in 2020, an expert committee consisting of eight mathematicians and theoretical physicists was constituted to look into the physicist's proof after his research was downloaded thousands of times.
“While one can easily count the number of prime numbers from say 1-20, it becomes a tedious task to calculate the number of prime numbers till one million or 10 billion. The hypothesis was important to prove as it would enable mathematicians to exactly count the prime numbers," said Easwaran.
Over 1,200 mathematicians were invited by the expert committee to participate in an open review, with seven international scholars responding in time.
Among one of them was Professor M Seetharaman, who had worked with the department of theoretical physics at the University of Madras.
“The author’s analysis is exhaustive, unambiguous and every step in the analysis is explained in great detail and established. The conclusions of the author and his result must therefore be considered proven," said Professor Seetharaman.

Taapsee Pannu is someone who believes in sharing her opinions publicly and doesn’t shy away from speaking the truth out in the open. Her opinions have often landed her in controversies but that hasn’t stopped her from speaking her mind.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, she said that she was dropped from a film at the last minute after she had blocked her dates.
Though she didn't mention the name of the movie, Taapsee added that she had called out the makers earlier for unceremoniously replacing her.
View this post on Instagram
She said, “Mere saath hua hai. Bas taiyaar hoke nahi gayi thi, maine sirf dates di thi aur uske baad mujhe nikaal diya (It happened to me. I didn’t get ready for the shoot, I just gave my dates, and then I was thrown out).” She added that the makers did not communicate their decision to her. “I got to know through the media,” said Taapsee.
When asked if the makers reached out to her after being called out by Taapsee, she said, "Obviously, they called me and met me, not to say kyun bol rahe ho (why are you talking about it) and all, just to apologize. After I had spoken out, then they met me to apologize for it. But still, they were hesitant to reveal the real reasons ki aisa kyun kiya (why they replaced me).”
View this post on Instagram
It was in 2019 when Taapsee had revealed that she had been dropped from the Pati, Patni Aur Woh remake at the last minute.
In an interview with a daily, Pannu had stated how she was asked to block dates for the shooting and it was proof enough that she was on board for the movie. She had said, “Your time is money. You don't block a person's time and then say 'No, someone else is doing it'. People who did it had to somewhere take the responsibility or throw it back at me."
When asked about the reason given to her by the makers, she said director Mudassar Aziz did not give her any justification. "He was just asked to take someone else. When I tried to confront the producers, I wasn't given a proper reason. As much as I have been trying to get some clarity on the matter, they've been putting off the conversation, which is very weird," she said.
A few days after Taapsee called them out, the makers did come forward to say that they didn’t make any commitment to her.
Here is hoping Taapsee and the makers have let bygones be bygones.

Veteran Bollywood lyricist and music composer Javed Akhtar was recently invited to grace the singing reality show Indian Idol 12.
However, it somehow turned out to be a nightmare for Akhtar as he found himself being brutally trolled on social media after his appearance on the show. Wondering why?
He went on to praise one of the contestants, Shanmukhapriya, who has already been a target on social media. People have been trolling her for her singing style and were not okay with Javed appreciating her.
View this post on Instagram
Shanmukhapriya performed the Dil Dhadakne Do title song and after her performance ended, Javed questioned her if she is criticized on social media.
When she says yes, Javed added, “You should be criticized because male chauvinists in the country don’t like a smart, confident, and competent girl like you."
View this post on Instagram
He went on to add, “Those males become insecure. They like a girl who is reluctant, one who is unsure. Your qualities say that no one can do it better than me. Your unabashed qualities will not be liked by many. You don’t pay heed to them. You continue doing the good work and your future is bright."
The aspiring singer later said how happy she was to see him on the sets and said, "I was awestruck the moment I saw Javed Sir enter the sets. I am such a huge fan of his work. His writing is what makes the song a lot more melodious. Being on the same set as him is a big deal. I am so grateful to Indian Idol Season 12 for allowing me to perform in front of a legend like Javed Sir. I couldn't stand the ground when he mentioned he's heard my yodelling & seen my videos. Javed Sir is a legendary artist and to receive a compliment like this means the world to me."
People found it unfair as Javed gave a sexist angle to the controversy surrounding the contestant.
One of the Twitter users said that men do respect female singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, and Shreya Ghoshal, and that his comment was uncalled for.
People also went on to say that he was given money to praise the singer, adding that they would not stop criticizing her as she lacks the basics.
