Taapsee Pannu is someone who believes in sharing her opinions publicly and doesn’t shy away from speaking the truth out in the open. Her opinions have often landed her in controversies but that hasn’t stopped her from speaking her mind.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, she said that she was dropped from a film at the last minute after she had blocked her dates. 

Though she didn't mention the name of the movie, Taapsee added that she had called out the makers earlier for unceremoniously replacing her.

She said, “Mere saath hua hai. Bas taiyaar hoke nahi gayi thi, maine sirf dates di thi aur uske baad mujhe nikaal diya (It happened to me. I didn’t get ready for the shoot, I just gave my dates, and then I was thrown out).” She added that the makers did not communicate their decision to her. “I got to know through the media,” said Taapsee. 

When asked if the makers reached out to her after being called out by Taapsee, she said, "Obviously, they called me and met me, not to say kyun bol rahe ho (why are you talking about it) and all, just to apologize. After I had spoken out, then they met me to apologize for it. But still, they were hesitant to reveal the real reasons ki aisa kyun kiya (why they replaced me).” 

It was in 2019 when Taapsee had revealed that she had been dropped from the Pati, Patni Aur Woh remake at the last minute.  

In an interview with a daily, Pannu had stated how she was asked to block dates for the shooting and it was proof enough that she was on board for the movie. She had said, “Your time is money. You don't block a person's time and then say 'No, someone else is doing it'. People who did it had to somewhere take the responsibility or throw it back at me." 

When asked about the reason given to her by the makers, she said director Mudassar Aziz did not give her any justification. "He was just asked to take someone else. When I tried to confront the producers, I wasn't given a proper reason. As much as I have been trying to get some clarity on the matter, they've been putting off the conversation, which is very weird," she said.

A few days after Taapsee called them out, the makers did come forward to say that they didn’t make any commitment to her. 

Here is hoping Taapsee and the makers have let bygones be bygones.
